As I sit home alone, now finished with my textbook, I look out the window. Isn't it gorgeous outside? The dancing snowflakes? The glistening of the white sheets of frozen water crystals on the ground and on roofs? You need to go outside, I tell myself. It'd be nice. So I hop off of my bed, grab my sweater and head outside into the cold. My breath makes the fog-like patterns that children associate with dragon breath. I remember when I was young and not brilliant. I would frolic around pretending I was a fire breathing dragon. As I walk down the road to the district square I find that children are doing exactly that. Some make snowmen, some make snowmen families, other just play in the snow.
I eventually make it to the District Square, which in District 6 is really just a college. But outside the college they do have some shops. I look around at them and pick up some artifacts that look like they're supposed to be from old engines. They really think they can fool people with these crappy things? I find some chemistry sets for kids who want to go into pharmacy. That could end up badly. I look up at the immense size of the college. I can't wait until I get to go there. Now I'm stuck inside of the awful high school with people who don't respect the art of learning as much as I. If only I could knock some sense into them.
Suddenly I hear people shouting. I turn my head quickly to find Peacekeepers on the other side of the square yelling and pointing at me. I start backing up, then the Peacekeepers fire into the air and start charging. I turn and start running as fast as I can, which isn't fast because I don't like exercise, down the street. I race in between houses, dodging kids and clothes lines. I know the Peacekeepers are gaining, so I run up to the nearest house and bang on the window.
Someone's face appears. Thank God!
