Age: 17
Gender: Male
District/Area: District 9
Appearance:
Short curly hair sits on top of his head covered in a shade of deep brown. His sea green eyes are kind and bright, which complements his white teeth and smooth pink lips. A strong jaw lines his face, giving him a masculine touch to an otherwise gentle expression. His nose is long and round at the end, while his ears are small. His forehead is large, though he lets the few curls that are available cover part of it.Personality:
His body is slender, have a little muscle tone to it. He is slightly tall standing at 6'1, making his body a little lanky looking. His is naturally skinny, only weighing 160 pounds. A light pale skin tone covers his body, and he lacks any sort of facial or body hair of note. Whether that be because he is well groomed or naturally born that way, he doesn't tell. He has elongated feet and hands, but not to the point of awkwardness. His backside is round and a little larger than most. To him, this is his most attractive quality as it gets him some attention from others.
Sayer is a very kind person to everyone, though some don't deserve it. His friends are important to him and he is loyal to them unconditionally. He longs for acceptance and often will tolerate being abused because of it. He is shy around people when first meeting them, but eventually opens up showing his happy and easy going nature. It's in his nature to be fun loving and full of laughter, even when it's not called for. He is not very confident and cares deeply about others opinions of him. He avoids confrontation and freezes when it presents itself. He has a lot of fears and tends to try to be safe in his life. He is petrified of being reaped and being thrown into the hunger games. The main reason of this is hate of violence or hurting others. He would rather take his own life than take another. He very supportive and is often looked to for counsel in times of emotional distress. He is also giving, not seeing importance in material objects.History:
He loves music of any kind, often singing or humming when doing almost any task. Sayer is academically intelligent, but not enough to be considered anything special. He has a bit of a lazy streak, which often results in his suffering at the hands of his own decisions. He loves positive attention directed towards him, often being the source of his smile. He has a unique laugh that is polarizing to people. It has a unique low sound and is similar to a grunt, which is sometimes confused for pain. Many describe him as a master of all trades, but a master of none. This comes from a general knowledge of almost any subject, but a lack of motivation to become great at any of them. He is also a bit clumsy, often stumbling or running into things.
He is easily satisfied, whether that be through a small gift or a compliment from a friend. A characteristic that stems from his his longing for affection and inclusion is his want to have a peaceful life with a man. Yes, this means that Slayer is a homosexual, though he doesn't tell people for fear of being exiled or made fun of. This is often a source of confusion for him, as he isn't sure what to do about it. Often a source of anxiety for him, he is terrified of people finding out. He often wonders if it is as big a deal as he makes it, but would rather not risk it.
Being from District 9, Sayer grew up in a family that was fairly poor. His mother, Lynn, and his father, Sage, both worked to keep their family going and fed. His father worked in one of the metal factory, making sheets of metal from raw materials sent in from other districts. Lynn worked as one of the many people who create Soap to be shipped to the Capital, which is then redistributed to the Districts. His father is a stern and strong man, often having fixed opinions on subjects and not changing them. Lynn, on the other hand, has a soft touch and warmth vibrates out of her body from the love she shows her children. Three of them to be exact. Ariel is his older sister, who is strong and independent at the age of 18. She backs down to no one and is often the source of trouble in the house. Caspar, the younger brother is loud and obnoxious constantly. He demands attention and will not take no for an answer at the age of 10. Because of the diverse and sometimes clashing personalities in the family, Sayer grew up a bit distant from them. Being the middle child, he was often overshadowed by his sister and eventually his brother. He did not bare any resentment towards his siblings, he just knew that his personality made it easy to overlook him. His father was just an authority figure in his life and little more while his mother was the only thing that kept him happy to be there. They understood each other and were similar in many ways.Codeword: odair
As a child, Sayer was even shyer than he is now, often sitting by himself and not speaking to anybody. Anytime he tried to make a friend, he felt like an outsider looking in and retracted back to his shell. This gave him time to focus on his school work, which was easy to him. Eventually, he became lonely and even depressed at times. His sister was too busy being 'an adult' to hang out and therefore he struggled for quite a few years. At the age of 10, he was ready to make something happen, and he eventually did by pushing out of his shell of self-consciousness little by little. He gained quite a few friends over the years, though none of them were really that close. A sense of loneliness was still there, but he would push it back and be grateful for the friends he did have. While he wasn't as financially able as some of the others, it didn't matter, that wasn't what mattered to them. Just his kindness made room for his presence. Well at least to most.
He already knew he didn't like violence or suffering from trying to watch The Hunger Games year after year. Each one usually left him in tears and sorrow for the people that had to suffer it. He couldn't imagine the terror and pain it must bring the tributes. That distaste turned into pure fear based on one event that happened at the age of 15. Because of the long hours and stressful work, his father, Sage, turned to alcohol to take the edge off of his day. This backfired however, as it only made him angry at everything. The biggest sources of that anger came from his job, his situation, and his lack of ability to change it. That anger had to go somewhere though, and it ended up going to us. At first it would just be harsh words and threats that would spew through slurred speech. Eventually, it became physical, ending in a beating for whoever was unfortunate enough to be near him. He was out of control, but they couldn't do anything about it. The peacekeepers didn't care enough to step in and others had their own problems. Ever since, Sayer has accounted any marks or bruises to his clumsiness, and went on as if nothing was wrong. He would not let his situation change him.
