Age: 15
Gender: Female
District/Area: District 3
Appearance:
A cute, young girl with silky, blonde hair and hazel eyes. She's a bit on the shorter side, something she doesn't like being reminded of. She's not necessarily overweight, but she could tone down a bit. She is usually found with her hair down.Personality:
Quite the fashionable young lady, Emmaline Locke can usually be found accessorizing as best as possible given her environment. When she had access to it, she enjoyed using makeup, but honestly, she looks better without it -- which is good considering she's now without it. Often times found wearing dresses of various shapes and sizes, her fashion choices are not always the most practical for District Three, but at least she looks good.
Emmaline, to the outside world, is one of the most sweetest girls imaginable. She puts a smile on her face and makes all A's. She tells her father's co-workers about the puppy she saved from a tree last week. She stays late after school to help other students understand the lesson. She does her best to be a good girl.History:
When she's around her friends, she's still the same girl. But she isn't afraid to cuss. She isn't afraid to talk about sex. And, yeah, if the occasion presents itself, and even in District Three it rarely does, she's not afraid to drink. She's not a bad girl, but she isn't an angel either -- not when she's with her friends.
So, who is Emmaline Locke? Deep inside, she's a fighter, but she doesn't show it. She's a firecracker under the hidden veil of innocence. She's a brilliant girl but to the world she's just a great student, and a part of society. And most of all, she's a teenager.
Five years ago, Emmaline showed up out of nowhere. She just arrived at school one day and became a part of everyone's life. When they asked, she told them she was from the grade below, and she'd skipped a grade. She couldn't let them know the truth.Codeword: Odair
The truth was that Emmaline Locke was born to a couple in the Capitol. Her father, frankly, had been rich, an inventor from District 3 who met her mother, a Capitol citizen, and engaged with her in a one night stand, from which Emmaline was born. Her father never even knew Emmaline existed -- he left back to District 3 the next day and never saw Emmaline's mother again.
Emmaline was raised up a Capitol girl, living it up in the big city. Makeup, fashion, shopping. A life of luxury. Watching the Hunger Games for entertainment -- something which had fascinated Emmaline as a child, in part because her mom tried to prevent the young girl from watching the gruesome pageant. Not that it stopped her.
But when Emmaline was ten years old, her mom was involved in a fatal accident. Emmaline was kept away from the gruesome scene -- her mother ran down by a hovercraft -- but it was enough to scar Emmaline, emotionally. For two months, she completely shut down, and as much as the Capitol's children services tried to reach through to her, she was largely unreachable.
Then, two months later, Emmaline put in a request which, frankly, left those who in the government who heard her case speechless. She wanted to move to District Three and find her father. Why anyone would want to move to a lower District was unknown -- but Emmaline needed a parent. A real parent. And she was determined to live with her father.
Her father was notified, of course, and for the most part, he was... Well. Not sure what to do. He hadn't even known he'd had a daughter. He had been rich once upon a time, and was still well off, but his wealth was dwindling. Could he really raise a daughter, by himself?
In the end, he decided that it was his duty as a father. Emmaline moved to District Three and she and her father became quite close. With much practice, Emmaline was able to conceal her Capitolite accent and started to blend into District Three. Emmaline had a father, and a new life that was different but not so bad after all.
Still, every day, even today, Emmaline must watch what she says. When the Hunger Games come, she must always try to not act so... Entertained. When she is speaking in class, she must be careful not to make her superior education clear. It's the simple things like this that Emmaline has the most trouble with.
But this is her life. What more could a girl ask for?
