When Brent was 13 he started questioning the morals of the capital an started becoming more an more rebellious, as he became rebellious his father Troy fell ill of a disease an lost the ability to work which lead to the inability to pay for medicines he eventually died but before his death he spoke his last word's to Brent an for the first time he said he was proud of him for the fine young man he was, following his father's death Beverly fell into a deep depression an became unable to take care of herself let alone Brent, this is when Brent took thing's into his own hands an started to work at the hob to support the both of them.

On Brent's 15 birthday he came home to find his mother gone an a letter left on the kitchen table, the letter read, "Dear son i left this letter to say happy birthday an that under my pillow you will find a present, once you have retrieved it come find me at the bakery." This came as a surprise for Brent since his mom hadn't left the house for more than sitting on the porch for the past two year's, so when he checked under his mom's pillow, what he found was a second surprise; laying there was his fathers key to his lockbox that hadn't been touched since his father fell ill. Brent grabbed the lock box an went to the bakery to find his mom with a loaf of fresh bread an a beautiful home made cupcake; his life had finally taken a turn for the better.
