Age Eighteen
District Six
The rift in the household is out of control, hatred towards everyone left and right. Turning her Father in was thought to be just what all of the children needed, at least in Charlie's eyes. They needed to be free of him, and his sick experiments to make each of his children his ideal image. How interesting it would be to see how all of the Smith children would of turned out naturally. But that's not going to happen, and now they nearly all hold a bad grudge against the oldest, Charlie. The two closest to her age, Bernadette and Elias, were the worst to. Their feelings and thoughts transferred onto the youngsters. So Charlie's new goal was to change there minds, or to at least attempt to. Starting with the second older girl, knowing the oldest son would be the most difficult.
"Come on..." Charlie whines to Bernadette just as the little ones always do. "It's karaoke night!" Maybe that'd win her over? But by the looks on her face she had no interest in spending time with her older sister. Charlie narrows in her eyes, ready to go straight to defeat. Begging people to like her was exactly what she hates. "Just one night. I'll buy the drinks, and you can hate me the entire time." Did she like to drink? Charlie was hoping because that was her last attempt.
Success! The alcohol convinces the younger sister. Immediately Charlie grabs ahold of Bernadette's arm and rushes out the door before she had a chance to change her mind. "Well this is nice." Charlie comments as they stroll down the freezing cold path. She bundles up in her jacket but the fishnet stalkings are not nearly enough to keep her legs warm. At least boots warm her feet and calfs. Everything else is so freezing though.
A flask clinks around in Charlie's boots and the solution to warmth presents itself. Without even stopping she manages to pull the thing out of her shoe and takes a large gulp. "Whiskey?" Charlie offers, and for the first time happily extends the flask to her sister. "It'll keep you warm." She informs, pulling out her pack of cigs that were located in the other boot. After lighting one and letting the toxic smoke fill her lungs the cold hardly bothers her.
There's a lot of things that suck about being a Smith child, but one of the worst is the location. Far off in the district, with the fence practically being their backyard. So the walk to the town where bars are located was a far one. Due to this though they at least all stay fit from plenty of walking. By the time they finally reach the popular bar the sun is far down beyond the horizon, and the winter night is kicking in. Another gulp of the whiskey to keep everything warm.
Just like every Thursday night the particular bar the girls are arriving to is as popular as a saturday night in the capitol. A large sign titled "Karaoke Night" flashes in the window. Already the small of spilt drinks fill the air, and half are already drunk and embarrassing themselves on stage with singing. Another, even larger gulp, is retrieved from the flash and into Charlie's mouth. It never seems fair when people are already drunk, she had to catch up.
"Two shots of Patron and a beer." Charlie orders leaning up against the bar. Her old appearance always prevented her from getting carded, but especially at the bar with a stage Charlie was already known. "And what ever she wants." She informs, gesturing a head point to her sister.
It toke more time for the bartender to deliver the shots then it was for Charlie to consume it. Her head gave that pleasant spin to inform her she was on her way to getting drunk. "Watch this baby sis." Charlie gives a small warning before grabbing her beer and tumbling over to the stage. Two young adults already occupy the stage, singing some sappy love song and by the looks of it still in there honey moon phase.
"Scat, it's my turn." Charlie bluntly interrupts. There faces are in shock but they don't move. Usually who ever was up here would leave at the first sight of Charlie making her way to the stage. "I wouldn't be singing that song to him anyways hun, we just screwed in the bathroom not to long ago. You didn't even realize." Quickly the girl storms off stage and the boy runs after her. Charlie laughs at her ability to actually do that and takes a seat on the stool, using the extra one for her beer.
"Good evening." Charlie greets as her giggles subside and she wonders if anyone witnessed her kicking two people off the stage. "This is called Sober." She informs, clearing her throat before beginning to sing.
The crowd stays quiet as if Charlie just toke away their drunken joy. There goes impressing her sister. "Tough crowd." Charlie jokes before ditching off of the stage. Some nights they love her while others they don't, it always difficult to predict. "Two more Patrons." She orders returning to the stool next to her sister at the bar.
"So much for staying sober?" The bartender jokes as he fills in the request and servers the shots.
"Funny." Charlie comments, quickly taking them both in a row.
