The victor tour, a day where everyone gathers in the district square to listen to a speech given by the victor of the given year. It was mandatory to show up, if you were caught away from the ceremonies you would be punished, severely. Though still Mark was not there to listen to the girls speech, as a matter of fact he had a meeting to get to, one that no one could know about. So Mark moved as quickly and as discreetly as he could through the district to the meeting point. Standing before Mark were two men in huge trench coats. Without saying a word Mark hands the man on the left a sealed envelope, and the man on the right does the same, though handing it to Mark. As quickly as the meeting started it was over. The two men turns without a word walking in separate directions and Mark turned down an ally way taking the back roads home, having to stop a few times to hide from a small group of patrolling Peacekeepers. After a few minuets Mark was standing in his front yard, fumbling with his keys as he tries to find the right one. Finally Mark spots the unique black old fashion key and takes it in his hand. Mark slowly pushed the key into the key hole, but to his surprise the door slowly opens. The door was left open, but not by Mark, he knew he locked up before he left, he double cheeked.
Mark slowly stepped into the house, closing the door behind him silently, looking around. The front room was a mess, the books on the bookshelf were scattered among the floor, along with a few other things. Mark stood silently listening for any noise, a few small clatters come from down the hall. Mark slowly began towards the hall, pausing as he noticed two tall shadows that lay on the floor of the hall, coming from his little sisters room. Marks feet slowly dragged him down the hall, not making a sound when he steps. As Mark nears the open door her slowly peeks his head around the corner, seeing two men standing in all black looking though his sisters room. Both of them held a knife as they searched the room. Mark slowly walks up behind the man closes to him, placing a hand quickly on his chin and the other on the mans forehead, gripping tightly, and almost instantly jerks the mans chin to the left and his forehead to the right. The silence is broken by the loud snap of the mans neck. The man who was off to Marks left quickly looks to his left spotting Mark quickly bringing the knife across Marks left cheek. Letting out a grunt of pain Mark slides a dagger out of both sleeves into his hands. The man takes a stab at Mark, but Mark was ready for this attack, so as the man steps in, thrusting the knife at Marks abdominal area he quickly dodges, stepping to the left quickly stepping in close to the man, stabbing both the daggers into the mans chest, quickly pulling them out and pushing them back again. Each time the man lets out a yell in pain, trying to step away from Mark, but only to find himself fall to the ground unable to move because of the intense pain.
Mark stands above the bleeding out Man with an angry look on his face, as the blood drips from the wound on his cheek. Mark knew he would have to stitch himself up, but first he knew he would have to deal with the bodies. Mark stood thinking about what he was going to do with them, Mark could not simply report it, because he was breaking the law himself, carrying a weapon, not attending the victors speech. Mark fumbled around with a few ideas in his head but none of them seemed to end well. Finally he decided it would be best to make it look as if the two turned on each other and killed one another. Mark took both the knifes out of the men's hands and places one of Marks bloodied daggers into the mans hand who had his neck broken, next Mark kicked both the bodies a little to make bruising, then finally positioned the bodies a little ways apart. Mark hated the idea of leaving this in his little sisters room, but what else could he do? Mark sighed leaving the room, heading to his own, quickly opening the envelope, and reading what is inside. After he was done reading he realizes he forgot he even had the cut on his cheek and he goes and cleans and stitches it.
A few minuets pass as Mark reads over a few of the papers that were sealed inside, then hiding the papers in his room, quickly leaving the house. Mark had to get to the district square. Mark didn't want to sit and marvel at winner of the games, but he did want to talk to her. Mark knew this would be nearly impossible but he had to try. By the time Mark got to the square most of the people had cleared out, the speech was over. The girl must be in the justice building Mark thought. Actual conversation between two people from separate districts were forbidden unless you had capital consent. Mark knew he would not even be able to dream of getting that, so he had to find another way to talk to her. Mark entered the justice building, walking up to the front desk. " I have a crime to report, there has been a murder at 1213 Norway rd." The man looked at Mark a little puzzled and called it in. Mark had given the address to his house.
"Well, I'm going to need a statement from you, but were booked right now, some do you have a number I can get a hold of you?" The officer ask Mark
"Of course." The officer hands Mark a sheet of paper and Mark writes his phone number down.
" Thank you, we will call you when we have an open room to speak in private." The man at the front desk stands up and walks into the back room to file the paper, Mark was a little closer and he knew it. Now how would he get into the secure room with her, he asked himself turning and looking at the 'Wall of Fame'. Upon the wall sat the face of every victor who ever lived. This was a tradition in district two, to get a picture of the victor before they leave. Upon the wall was an empty picture frame titled:Saffron Lowe
District Ten
65th HG Champion
Mark looked back at the front desk, which was still unattended, on the right hand corner of the desk sat a nice camera. A few feet away stood two men looking at the wall of victors. They talked back and fourth.
" Well, apparently there are a few things that need to be fixed on the train before they depart. They are gonna have to stay over night." Mark listened in on the two, slowly approaching the camera, lifting it off the table, quickly concealing it as he starts down the hall towards towards the room Saffron was staying in.
"Hm, I'll let her know when I go in to take her picture. But first, I'm hungry, lets get some food." The man turns to look at the desk that sat without the camera on it. " Did I leave my camera in the car?"
" I could go for food, and yeah obliviously, who would be stupid enough to steal something in the middle of the justice building?" The two man laugh and turn out the door.
Apparently Mark was stupid enough to do it, but he was satisfied with how easy that was. As Mark continues towards the door at the end of the hall, he reveals the camera. As Mark nears the door, the two Peacekeepers guarding it ask promptly. "What are you doing back here?"
Mark holds up the camera " Getting her photo, you know for the wall of fame." Mark says sounding irritated. " I haven't got all day, I need to get to my next photo shoot in 10 minuets." Mark says, sounding more and more irritated. The two peacekeepers don't seem to want to deal with Mark right now, or all the formal paper work he would have to fill out to confirm he is the photographer. They probably didn't want to take the time because they probably knew with the attitude Mark was giving them it would only get worse.
" Alright go ahead." One of them says and opens the door from Mark. Mark quickly steps in, the door being closed behind him. Mark toys with the camera, making it look like he actually knows what he's doing. Mark looks up at the girl with a warm smile upon his face. " Hello, I'm Mark Antony, I'm here to take your picture, how are you beautiful?" Mark asks, truly making it seem like he was the actual photographer. Mark was not sure if he was going to keep this up, but that would all depend on their next few words between each other. If Mark believes she would be willing to hear why he came, then he will come out with it, otherwise he probably will keep up the act and leave as quickly as he same. Mark had a few reasons for coming to see this girl, but the one real reason would have to stay a secret until he knew he could trust her with it.
" Also, apparently the train is having some issues, so, you will be staying the night here in district two." Mark says with the warm smile still upon his face.
