Jade Saffron-District 1 Career

I believe the Hunger Games are horrific yet honorable. Every year victors of the games pass through my district. Most of them are ours. In the games people are terrified and bloody. Who would make anybody do such a thing.

District 1. When you think of it you normally think Hunger Games victors. Well this is where I live. I am in the crowd with everyone else as the train arrives. I see the Moreano family near me trying to hold back tears. Even though I hate all the sadness these games cause I am glad that someone else's district got a year of parcels. I think my eyes are conveying sadness as I imagine what this young girl has had to go through. Horrific images clot in my head. I remember her killing Lucy with Lucy's eye out. I imagine Eye's head getting bashed. I remember her District partner Mantel getting killed by Beatrice. Then the image of Cerise killing Beatrice flashed through my mind. All these, these KIDS, dead. The last with what I would imagine horrible nightmares! The mayor whose name I have never been able to grasp went up to the podium. She greeted Saffron with the usual "Hello! Welcome to District 1. I know I may be seeing more of Saffron Lowe later because my family as one of the richest in District 1 gets to do that kind of stuff. I know I will also have to greet her. The thing is is that I kind of admire her. It's not because of how she killed its because of the reluctentness. "I suppose you have something small to say?" Says the mayor. Saffron brushes the brown hair out of her eyes and begins to talk.
