Fawns eyes gazed at the stage, not quite focused on the small girl standing before the people of her district. Saffron Lowe, the Victor of the 65th hunger games and someone indirectly responsible for Storms death. She didn't kill him but she didn't stop the girl from 12 from killing him either, didn't that make her just as bad then? She shook her head, thinking of Storm was too painful right now, even though it had been six months since the games, the grief was still fresh in her mind. She didn't stop Lucy from taking Storms life, but she did take Lucy's life. She warred within herself. She hadn't been a fan of Saffron but she had to admit, she'd survived hell, just like Opal before her. She'd killed her ally and friend, just like Opal had killed her ally and friend.
She watched, not listening to the girl while images of the games played through her head. She wanted to speak to Saffron, but the problem was that she didn't know what to say to the district ten girl. Did she wish Saffron was dead, not really, did she hate her, a bit, did she respect her, definitely. Saffron had been through hell and back, Fawn knew but she couldn't help the anger and grief that welled up inside her when the Victor came down the steps. On their own accord, a single tear swept down her cheek and she wiped it away furiously.
"Hello, Miss Lowe, I'm Fawn Jay, Storms older sister" she said, trying to keep her grief hidden behind the mask she'd worked hard to keep on.
