TSUNAMI JOAQUIN

A bitter cold chill fills the air sends chills running up and down my spine. The white snow glistens on the ground as my feet form footprints leading anyone into my direction if they dare to follow me. I rub my hands together over and over trying to keep them warm. One thing about not having a lot of money means freezing, going hungry, not having anything to look forward to. I can see my breath crystallizing before my eyes as I breathe. I wrap my old, worn, black jacket around my shoulders as tight as I can. I don't want to freeze to death. I just want to live. The tips of my fingers ache as I continue walking through the abandon district square. Most people are at home trying to keep warm, but here I am wondering through the district with no plans of returning home. (Maybe I'll die out here like everyone wishes. They all hate me, so it shouldn't matter if I live or die.) Sometimes, I believe that death would be the escape that's needed for me to survive in this place.

The moon shines high in the sky reflecting off the bright snow as the wind flies through the air. My face, the tips of my fingers, they all hurt. I try to keep them as covered as I can, but nothing will work. I don't even think a glass of warm water would help me now. I jump up and down as I fight to keep the blood flowing through my veins. I don't want hypothermia to set in because I'd be dead within seconds, but staying outside in the violently cold weather is a huge risk for frostbite. I've seen it before. Hands that are frozen beyond repair. I figure I should learn from seeing them, but it's obvious I haven't. I turn the corner around a building slowly leading into a dark, abandon alley. I follow the alley all the way to the end before running into a wall blocking me from climbing over to the other side. (I couldn't climb if I tried. My hands are hurting too bad.) I place my back against the wall before raising a leg to hold myself against it. I'm alone. All alone. I don't want anyone to find me, and if someone does find me, they'll wish they never wandered my way.

Moonlight filtered down between the buildings of district nine as Nala's boots crunched on the snow covered ground. She tried to keep her head down and not make eye contact with anyone, she just wanted to get home to the pride. Her breath misted in front of her as she hurried along, crunching the entire way. She made a turn into an allyway she knew, or at least, she thought she knew. Apparently, as she walked, she'd picked the wrong alley. She stopped dead, looking cautiously around her, trying to orient herself. Where was she? She knew she was in district nine but she hadn't been to this part. A chill ran up her spine and she looked back, almost screaming as she saw a boy leaning against a brick wall that blocked her from getting home. She could only tell it was a boy because of the way he leaned against the wall and she didn't know any girl who leaned that way. (OOC: Idek what that was). She looked at him, her eyes trying to hide the fear that ran through her veins like adrenaline, only it froze her to the spot. "Who are you?" she hated how much her voice shook as she looked at him. As she studied him, she thought she was imagining things. In the moonlight, she could have sworn he was familiar but she didn't know from where.

TSUNAMI JOAQUIN

Most people love watching the snow fall from the sky. It has a nice glisten to it, but I hate it. Being in the snow reminds me of my father. We used to spend time together when it snowed. We'd make snow people. Rocks would be used for the eyes. We'd use pebbles for the mouth, and nose. It was the best days of my life. After we finished making the snow people, we'd make snowballs and have wars with them. I figured out that if you put ice in them it would hurt a lot worse when they hit someone. I wish I could throw them at my father right now. I'd hit him right in the face. I hate my father and any memory that goes along with him. I hate how he treated me as a child. He said he loved me. He said he'd be there for me, but he lied. He left me. My mother let him leave after he promised he'd be there for me forever, and I hate him. I hate him for that.

A long, silent sigh escapes as I look down the alley and notice a figure walking towards me. I place a large grin on my face because whoever followed me into this alley isn't the smartest person in the world. She stops in her tracks as she stares at me, and the words she speaks are words of fear. It takes everything I have to not burst out laughing. She wants to know who I am. Does it really matter who I am? No, because nobody cares about me. I am who I am, and I don't need anyone to know me. I take a deep breathe slowly releasing it. I love watching how it crystallizes before my eyes. "Who am I? I am Tsunami Joaquin. Do you have a problem with that? Because you seem to be staring at me." My voice meant to be harsh is laced with that innocence I hate. I hate how I sound, but I can't change it. I let out another loud sigh.
