since i found serenity.

Firefly is a TV show created by Joss Whedon that was canceled after its first season. However it is a ruttin' good show so here's a plot for it.
A band of wanderers hop from district to district slipping past close encounters with Keepers with their stolen hovercraft named Serentiy.

Cast of characters.

Malcolm "Mal" Reynolds played by: Charade: The Captain of Serenity. Grew up in District Ten and ran off to join the Rebellion against the Capitol. He is cunning, a capable leader and a skilled fighter. Mal's main character drive is his will for independence. While he is not above petty theft, smuggling or even killing to maintain his free lifestyle, he is generally honest in his dealings with others, fiercely loyal to his crew and closely follows a personal moral code. He also has a thing for Inara but hides it by calling her a whore (which she kinda is).

Zoe Alleyen Washburn: Mal's first mate aboard ship. she is a capable fighter who keeps calm even in the most dangerous situations. She demonstrates an almost unconditional loyalty to Mal, the only exception noted being her marriage to Wash, which the captain claims was against his orders. From District Two and ran into Mal, they've been buddies for a long time.

Hoban "Wash" Washburn: Pilot of Serenity and Zoe's husband. A former Peacekeeper from the Capitol, and stole the hovercraft after running into Zoe and Mal on a run beyond the Districts. He is very light-hearted and tends to make amusing comments, despite the severity of any situation, probably from his childhood in the Capitol.

Inara Serra played by: Thundy Bio : an ex-career, Inara hails from District One where she had a very thorough education- from tea to sword play to whoring. Often dressed in finery, she is the member of the crew that is the most respectable. Despite leaving her home district, Inara has a way with words that often saves the crew from getting into more trouble as she becomes friends with the local Peacekeepers and other rich citizens as a way of income. Her charms and emotional control helps her hide her feelings for the Captain, Mal.

Jayne Cobb played by: Cato: a hired hand from District Twelve, Jayne likes cursing, guns and killing with guns while cursing. Jayne loves money even more and actually sends home to 12 as much as he can to his mother and family. However cuddly he may be on the inside, on the outside he is rough, macho and rather crude but provides a vital part of Serenity's crew- the muscle.

Kaywinnet Lee "Kaylee" Frye played by: GreenBeads Bio: The ship's mechanic from District Five. She's sweet and always has a smile on her face, able to see the light in every dark situation. She's a genius when it comes to engines and loves being aboard the ship and loves everyone on it with all her heart. She's just a little walking ray of sunshine- especially around Simon

Dr. Simon Tam: coming from a rich family in District Six, Simon used to work as a surgeon and was at the top of his class before he high tailed it out of the district with his sister River. When first aboard Serenity he was very stiff and stuck out like a sore thumb but over time he has integrated into the crew as their medic, but still manages to fumble over his words- especially around Kaylee.

River Tam played by: Cait: the younger sister of Simon Tam, River was sent to a special school in District Six being a child prodigy at math, science, literature- even dance. However the Capitol experimented on her brain during her time in the academy. Her and Simon escaped from the district and take refuge on Serenity while the Capitol is out looking for them. The procedures on her brain have left delusional and paranoid and violent at times.

Shepard Book: an older man from District Four, who is deeply religious. While most of the time he is the voice of reason and the moral core of the crew, Book has extensive knowledge of crime and the rebellion. Why an old boat preacher from Four wanted to jump into a life of crime, well, that all seems a little fuzzy. What exactly is that man hiding?

This is not first come first serve, multiple people can apply for the same character and all applications will be considered before finalizing who is who.

We'd like for the characters to keep their original names (unless you have something fabulous) and their original ages from the show. Also, if possible, their original faceclaims which we know will be a tad harder so if the actor is already taken feel free to pick somebody else.

(Also if you want to add another character from the Firefly universe such as Badger or "Saffron" mention it in your app and it will be considered.)

Character Wanted: Jayne Cobb
Ideas about the Character: I would love to keep him around the same as the character description. Being soft and nice on the inside is what I would love to bring out in Jayne, but the cursing, the crude and macho self of him. Slowly but sure, I would love to develop Jayne to show his softer side once in a great while. Maybe even struggle with being nicer compared to how he usually is.

Other thoughts: I love Firefly so much. I watch it still to this day. Mal and Jayne are my favorite characters from the show.

Character Wanted: River Tam
Ideas about the Character: River hasn't quite regained her sanity after her stay in the Capitol. She could have episodes where reality becomes distorted, and she sees her friends as her enemies and vice versa. They could range between five minutes and five hours long. As a result, she tends to keep to herself so she doesn't harm anyone. She expresses herself through her art, and fathoms all her dark thoughts into twisted, disgusting poetry. When company is inevitable, she tries her best to keep conversation going. She hates talking about herself and will try to change the subject as quickly as possible. River does have a soft spot for her brother Simon, and will open up to him on occasion.

Ideas about the Character:
Alright so, picture this, a young boy in District ten grows up listening to stories about how his great-grandfather fought in the rebellion against the Capitol. As he gets older, he sees the unfairness of the Capitol first hand, but is unsure of what he can do by himself. Until the day where he stopped a peacekeeper from shooting someone and had to run away from his district to avoid getting shot himself. He ran into Zoe a couple days/weeks later around the outskirts of D2 and the pair became fast friends. He saved her from something/someone to, which is why she's so loyal to him. Then Wash dropped in the hovercraft for reasons and the crew of serenity got their start. Anyhoo, he served a stint with the Uprising (maybe) and perhaps runs a small smuggling operation (honorably of course) to get people stuff they can't get in their home districts. The crew of Serenity all wound up on board for varying reasons, though I'm thinking maybe for the most part, he helped them out of a jam at one point or another? Personality wise, he's loyal, honorable and willing to give people a chance; course, if said person is not a member of his crew and they blow all the chances he gives them, he's prone to shoot first (politely). He also has a thing for Inara which is obvious to the crew, but he thinks that nobody knows.

Ideas about the Character:
~~I think I swallowed a bug.~~

’Put a bullet to me. Bullet in the brain pan. Squish.’ Each day is a nightmare I wish I could escape.

There was a time when I was normal. Simple – happy, even. Simon and I – the two of us against the world, together as one. These days, he looks at me, and he looks so lost. He knows he cannot help me. He knows nobody can, and it kills me.

I’m not the only one who doesn’t remember who I am anymore. Nobody does.

They took me away – they broke my memories and they stole my dreams. They were too curious, they were too cruel… and I was too dumb to realise what was happening before it was too late.

Walls barricade me into my own mind and the only way they even begin to slightly falter is by screaming, begging, pleading for a way out. I am haunted by night time terrors, forced into corners and tied to the ground until the demons leave me alone. ‘It’s safer this way, River.’ Or so I’m told.

Empty words and lies disguised as compliments and sarcastic jibes aimed at me remain forever engraved in my mind ~~just like the scars lining my arms.~~They never leave, and I never forget.

My world spins out of control and there is nothing I can do to stop myself from falling apart once more.

River Tam wasn’t always the way she is today. A series of seemingly harmless tests undertaken by the Capitol eventually wore down her defences – physically, emotionally and mentally. They were waiting for the time it all became too much, and when she broke, they were there to collect the scattered remnants of who River Tam used to be.

Constantly crippled by dramatic mood swings and feelings of paranoia, there was a time when things were easier for herself and her brother, who now spends a large majority of his time ensuring his younger sister is okay. Due to her upbringing in District 6 and her time spent in school, she is by no means stupid, and although she is closed-off from the others, they know she is capable. At times she may have certain wishes to rekindle her childhood days and dabble in the very things she was commended for as an adolescent. Very rarely, she could be found dancing methodically to a rhythm only she hears within herself, steady with the pulsing momentum of her heartbeat, movements practiced to perfection. Her mind is quite a dark place and although she does not communicate often, she is very well-spoken when she does decide to converse with others. She notices things other people do not, like the fact that there are exactly 26 medical utensils in Simon’s surgical room. I think she could feel frustrated a lot due to her ever-changing emotions and states of mind, and perhaps at times the main reason she is brought into dangerous situations is because she is much smarter than the others, in her own way.

I think I would write her as a very thoughtful person who spends a lot of time inside of herself, and it would be especially fun to write those times when she just feels out of control and loses it – perhaps even casting flashbacks to when the Capitol interfered with her mind and the memories that are still embedded from that dreadful period of time. Either way, I’d love to see what more I could do with her. <3

I grew up watching repeats of the episodes because my dad was obsessed with the show. I’m not sure why this plot hasn’t been made sooner. ~~Also someone should definitely make a Yo-Saff-Bridge character sometime in the future yay.~~

i always used to be into writing sort of modern abstract
lyricism stuff (that were like) slight vague indications of a feeling.

Character Wanted: Mal of course
Ideas about the Character: I think Mal fought in the most recent uprising( There actually was one, another plot) but failed, running off into the woods with his close friend Zoe, whom he met before the rebellion. As the capitol was finishing off the rest of the rebels Mal and Zoe take the last hovercraft the rebellion still had, flying to safety. Instead of going into hiding Mal and Zoe begin sneaking in and out of districts carrying contraband and messages between the districts, for good pay. As the years went by, Mal founded a crew that would help him move the contraband and keep each other safe all at the same time. So aside from shipping contraband I would hope that there are a few peacekeepers here and there that make their lives a little bit harder.

Character Wanted: Dr Simon Tam

Ideas about the Character:
Well I would like to think he was a person who keeps mainly to himself and he really like to talk to his sister river and also nagging Hoban (get to that soon). When he’s around Kaylee he likes to talk himself up and he has all the ideas in his head but seems to fumble over the words and just can’t get the out so they sound the way he wants it to. I think Simon should be quite timid and is very dedicated to his work and likes to worry about people. He seems to think that being the medic is a lot of pressure but enjoys it as it’s a challenge to find the supplies and keeps him busy. I think what he enjoys most about being the medic is that he finally feels excepted in the group that calls themselves serenity. He felt that when he was in District 6 no one really liked him because he was a dedicated student and he never had the chance to make friends. His life was studying, homework, more studying and school. Simon felt that he was apart of something and it gave him a sense of belonging. All he ever wanted after he finished school was to have a some friends so he wouldn't be the outside and everyone looked at him as if he was uptight and thought he was too good for everyone. This group has finally given him a chance to be someone he always wanted to be and have fun with some friends. However, he does miss being a surgeon as he loved the stress and pressure it brought as it was a great challenge but he’s glad he’s now in this group. Being a surgeon was one of his childhood dreams. (just a thought, unsure of what you wanted to happen to parents but here's my idea) He first knew when he wanted to be a surgeon was when he saw his father struggling with cancer that had corrupted his lungs. He saw that he could barely breathe and that my father would never fallback on surgery as he hated doctors. That's when Simon swore to himself tat he would do anything in his power to prevent other people suffering like his dad. Simon would also one day want to learn the hovercraft as he is such a geek and always wants to learn new things. Simon seems to really get on Hoban’s never as he keeps on nagging him to teach him as that was his passion, learning new things. Simon thought that he it's important to gain as much knowledge as possible in life as it can help you out a lot. Simon just hoped one day he would be able to know a lot more then he did know as he had a thirst for knowledge and as he saying goes, knowledge is power.
