What is your full name?
noh-ayyy-LAH-knee. kay-OH-nah. MAH-nuu. you can just call me Lani *kisses* *twinkle hands*
Where and when were you born?
in the capitol, nineteen years ago, babies. home-birth baby. i'm not really sure. things when a little... topsy.
Who are/were your parents? (Know their names, occupations, personalities, etc.)
papa's name is mah-OOO-li LAY-oh MAH-nuu (mauli leo manu) and mama's name was mah-KAH-nah ooo-LAH-knee MAH-nuu (makana ulani manu).
papa is a government man. he's out a lot, and i don't really know what he does, or who he works for exactly, but he keeps us afloat. mama's dead, but she was just a housewife before that.
Do you have any siblings? What are/were they like?
just plain ole me.
Where do you live now, and with whom? Describe the place and the person/people.
papa and i live in a big house on the outskirts of the Capitol. he and mama moved out there years before i was born. the area wasn't the best of placed, but they built this huge place surrounded my high walls with a courtyard and a garden and it's right on the lake and it's just gorgeous. the value in the area went up around us, papa said. a huge revamp of the neighborhood has made it one of the best places to live now. only two stories high, but it's built in a square shape with a courtyard in the middle. none of the rooms are connected. you have to go outside to get to them. just outside of the house's structure is a high wall. it's covered in ivy and morning glories. there's maybe six feet in-between the house and the wall, so it's a perfect place to walk surrounded by all the flowers. then out the back of the house is this terrace that leads down to the water. it's gorgeous.
What is your occupation?
i don't really have one. i've been at home my whole life. papa said it would be best if i were to stay home. he usually knows what's best. i've been schooled at home and do everything here. i learned how to dye fabric, to sew, and to knit and crochet. i paint a lot when i'm bored, or draw. i'm better at painting, though. i can be more abstract and messy without feeling like i'm messing up. dancing is fun too. relaxing because it takes all the energy away.
Write a full physical description of yourself. You might want to consider factors such as: height, weight, race, hair and eye color, style of dress, and any tattoos, scars, or distinguishing marks.
i'm only about five feet and two inches. i feel so tiny compared to papa and to the maids and the avoxes around here. i'm around a hundred and ten pounds, but i fluctuate a bit up and down, so i'm anywhere from one oh five to one twenty usually. my face is an oval shape for the most part, though my chin points a bit more. my nose, though, is flat. it's soooo flat. it's pretty big too. my nanny growing up called me miss piggie. that could have also been because i ate a lot when i was little. i was so chubby. i still eat a lot, but i guess my body metabolizes quickly? i don't know. i was never big on science. my eyes are a rich brown, but a little bit large looking on my face. they're a good almond shape though. it just kind of makes me look like a doll. my eyebrows are crazy. i have to watch them like a hawk. they grow so bushy and they look ridiculous unless i take care of them. my lips are pretty big too. pretty much everything is a little bit too big for my face, but it doesn't look too bad. at least it's all one size set. my skin is pretty pale, no matter what i do to try and get some sun, and it's pretty flawless if only because i check and dab away oil anytime i see it.
my fingers are a bit short and stubby and i constantly bite at the skin next to my nails. i can't help it. i crack my thumbs all the time too. everything is cracky and creaky. i'm pretty slender looking, but my hips flare out quite a bit. it looks ridiculous depending on the clothing, but i make sure it's flattering. my feet are kinda big too which is a bother, but there's nothing i can really do about that. what i really like about myself is my hair. it's about to the middle of my back. it's always been a bit unruly, but now i've learned how to tame it just enough so that it looks messy but in a good way. the maids always say i look like i rolled out of bed though... it's a mid-blonde color. i don't really like platinum. i like the shade i have. i paint it sometimes, or use the dyes from the fabrics i'm working with i love splashing a bit of color in it.
To which social class do you belong?
upperclass, yehhhh. at least, i suppose so. we live really well. i don't really ever see people though...
Do you have any allergies, diseases, or other physical weaknesses?
nope. i mean, i get sick kinda easily. that's all that i know of.
Are you right- or left-handed?
left handed.
What does your voice sound like?
my voice is medium in range, but it has a slight rasp to it pretty much always. i hate when my voice gets pitchy. it drives me insane. the rasp i can stand. it doesn't sound like i'm a three-pack-a-day smoker or anything, so it's fine. but when i'm shocked and my voice lilts up, it drives me crazy.
What words and/or phrases do you use very frequently?
for'reals, yeah man. ya' dig? i add those onto things a lot.
What do you have in your pockets?
nothing. i don't really need to carry things with me. it's not like i'm going anywhere.
Do you have any quirks, strange mannerisms, annoying habits, or other defining characteristics?
i separate my food into colors before eating... it's weird, i know. i used to do it all the time as a kid when i was learning my colors. it was a good way to have me remember them. 'put all the greens together, all the yellows' but then it just kind of stuck. i play with my hair a lot. a lot, a lot. twirling, braiding, painting. i bite the skin beside my nails.
How would you describe your childhood in general?
it was a bit hard growing up without mama, but i had my nanny and the maids and the avoxes. i had a normal childhood, to me. i know it's not exactly conventional, having never left our property. i was happy, though. that's all i could really ask for.
What is your earliest memory?
i remember my father bringing home a goldfish for me. his name was petra. i tried to release him into the lake. that.
How much schooling have you had?
i've gotten the equivalent of a general education.
Did you enjoy school?
my tutors were a bit snobby when i was younger, but they taught me for years and years and years. the same people. after a while, they were nice. i loved them a lot. i miss them. learning was fun. it was something to do.
Where did you learn most of your skills and other abilities?
my nanny taught me most of what i know. she was like a mother to me.

While growing up, did you have any role models? If so, describe them.
nanny jezebel was the best. she knew so much. she was strong and wise and kind, above all. she was amazing. papa has done so much for me as well, so he's a role model for me too.
While growing up, how did you get along with the other members of your family?
papa and i got along great. i didn't see much of him. i still don't. but he's warm and generous and hardworking. mama died giving birth to me, so i never got to know her. i wish i had. nanny jezebel was kind of like a surrogate mother to me. she was my rock.
As a child, what did you want to be when you grew up?
i think a painter. i always liked painting.
As a child, what were your favorite activities?
painting, swimming, dancing.
As a child, what kinds of personality traits did you display?
i was always very lively. i never stopped moving. nanny had a hard time keeping up with me some days. i would get very focused on things too. if i had my mind set on something, there was nothing to be done to make me think of something else.
As a child, were you popular? Who were your friends, and what were they like?
i didn't have friends. i still don't, really.
When and with whom was your first kiss?
haven't had it. i'm nineteen and kissless. for'reals.
Are you a virgin? If not, when and with whom did you lose your virginity?
yes indeed, ya' dig?
If you are a supernatural being (i.e. mage, werewolf, vampire), tell the story of how you became what you are or first learned of your own abilities. If you are just a normal human, describe any influences in your past that led you to do the things you do today.
i think i just needed something to do. i've always needed something to do. i know a lot of things that are pretty much busy-work. i do that all day.
What do you consider the most important event of your life so far?
mama dying... and nanny jezebel trying to take me away. i wasn't there for the first. i hardly remember the second. i'm kind of glad for both.
Who has had the most influence on you?
papa, nanny jezebel.

What is your greatest regret?
not telling nanny jezebel i love her.
What is the most evil thing you have ever done?

nanny jezebel, takin' me away.
What is the most embarrassing thing ever to happen to you?

i mean, i don't talk all that much. there aren't many people to really talk to. sometimes i think i scare that one avox boy in the house when i corner him and give his duties to someone else and just talk to him. it's not even about important things. i just talk. for hours. i guess my painting and dancing and everything is more honest about my feelings.
Do you have any biases or prejudices?
not particularly.
Is there anything you absolutely refuse to do under any circumstances? Why do you refuse to do it?
kill people. hurt animals. cry. okay, that last one seems very different from the first two, but i just don't like to show weakness, ya' dig?

no.
Have you ever been in love? If so, describe what happened.

Lani, get yourself outta there, girl! Find out the truth! Do it now! You have to go find out what really happened to you as a child baby, and about the world that is out there!
I've decided the following.
- her mom died in childbirth, father was overwhelmed with grief
- home-birth, mom died, records doctored to say baby died too.
- pre-birth, they pretty much stayed home all the time anyway, so only a few people knew about her even being pregnant.
- never allowed to leave because father is afraid of losing her, also because then people would know she exists.
- father doesn't really like the killing of children (hungar gaymessss)
- also maybe just decided not to let her know about it because when she was really little there was a girl who looked like her but older in the games and it freaked him out really bad
- father HAS NOT TOLD HER ABOUT THE HUNGER GAMES OR THE CAPITOL OR ANY OF THAT SHITTY STUFF
- nanny realized she was completely clueless, tried to bust her out when she was like 8?
- nanny was removed from the premises, maybe killed?
- father still a supporter of the capitol, tho. idk why. because fear?
- SCARED OF PERMANENCE (temp. dyes, fake tattoos later, relationships wat, being locked away her whole life)
