My hands grasp the plastic cup i'm holding, filled about halfway with some alcoholic drink i'd poured in the beginning of the party. Ah, I loved this part. The part of the party where you were one of the few people who weren't hammered. It happened at every party, or at least for me. Maybe it was the fact that I had a high alcohol tolerance, or maybe it was the fact that I didn't decide to down shots in the beginning of the party and end up blacked out drunk two hours later.
It hadn't taken much planning for this party. In fact, i'd managed to throw it together in about a week, immediately taking advantage of the fact that my friends parents were away for the weekend. And what did that leave? That left a wide open house that could be filled to the brim with happy and drunk people, more so drunk than anything else.
Moving through the crowd slowly but surely, I have to hold back laughter at all the mistakes that were being made right now. Over on the couch sat a boy and a girl who'd just broken up a few days ago, and boy had that been a show when they'd gotten into that fight at the training grounds. But with some vodka? Nah, that was all gone. All that anger merely vanished from their minds, and now they were making out.... Again, on the couch. Making a mental check note to make sure to be there when they got into a fight tomorrow, I join in on a beer pong game that had just started, my opponent already stumbling and laughing and joking and, of course, drinking.
Oh, how I loved to be the host of a party.
