Seven am. No alarm needed, no need for mom to wake her, Jessie had been up for an hour already. The boys still slept, her bed was made, and breakfast was made. She put out extra fruit for the twins so they could start on the feedings on the ranch, and put a bottle out to be warmed for the littlest. Today was just another day. Jessie washed herself like any normal day, clothed in her morning running clothing and put her dads hog tying rope around her shoulders as she was taught.
Her boots were covered in muck from the yesterday moister of the fields as she grabbed her coat and hat. Once more she looked in on her brothers, and smiled that they were still below the reaping age. Her mother slept with the crib near her bed, and Jessie closed the door to the ranch. The wind was strong this morning, but it didn't matter, she knew she had to enjoy ever minute she had, her name had been in too many times to not take each day as it was.
Out on the ranch the cows mooed in the early morning air, snow covering some of the field. She smiled and walked over to one of the cows and rubbed her nose. "Morning, silly Blu." She said with a smile and put the rope down onto the fence. The morning was silent, it was how she liked it. As the sun rose, she began to take her morning job around the ranch and toward the center of town. In her pocket was a few numbers written down on pregnant animals almost due to be sold to the capital. Times were tough, plus she had to take another tessera out for the month.
