Not Something You See Everyday [Rosetta]

As I walk down the streets of the town I look around. All of the hustle and bustle. People banging into me left and right, not even caring enough to look me in the eye. This is what I don't like. Why did I even leave my house? It's winter and I'm bored. I could've just gone to bed. But no, I had to walk around. But not here. Here is no place for me. I turn and walk down an alley, which takes me to a much less active road. I look around. All the smog and factories, the grey sky. I have to get away from this.

And I know just the place.

The one place in this district that gives me hope. The one district that makes me think there is a way to escape, there's always, always, always a solution and if you want it enough you can get it. This place is the Victor's Village. Of course I would never pester the victors who live there. They've gone through so much. The found their way out and they deserve to savor it. Because their way out was an awful trek. One I hope to never go on.

Soon enough I find myself there, standing at the gates and looking out at the gorgeous houses. All in perfect rows with amazing paint jobs and gorgeous grass. All I can do is smile. What I would give to live there. Then that thought immediately strikes me with shame. How could I ever feel that I would willfully kill people to live in a nice house.

But they're very nice houses. I sit down outside the gate and pull out my sketchbook. I have one page left. I'm going to draw one of the houses. I immediately start scribbling the outline, shading, then going over the drawing. As I sit there doodling, I barely notice that I'm in the way of someone who's trying to get in.
