Name: Luke Davis
Age: 18
Gender: Male
District/Area: District Eight
Codeword: oDair // Other: HiAppearance
Luke has hazel eyes that are round and large, yet he has subtle brows of the same light brown colour as his hair. Due to his older age, he has a well maintained beard which is always usually kept quite short - though sometimes appearance is overruled by food in terms of necessity. If you were to look at him, you wouldn't see a young man who works with silks and cotton. You would see somebody who you would expect to carry it all away, all at the same time. He is strong looking, and contrary to first belief, he doesn't. He does work out, and that much is clear, but it is in the discretion of his own room so that none of the peacekeepers tend to notice. If asked why he looks this capable, he says it is because he is the one who does all the heavy lifting - which is true regardless.
His face is well defined, as he is older at eighteen years. His hair is light brown and short all around the back and sides besides the top, which is usually spiked up a slight. His usual apparel consists of blues and greens on blacks or greys. He likes to wear thin layers, but the climate rarely allows it. District Eight is the manufacturer of many silks and furs that go toward clothes, but that doesn't mean the workers get to keep them. His outfits rarely reflect his job, though he wishes it could. Working with that much material can make a cold person very envious.Personality
Luke is really passionate about what he believes in, and he never gives up an opinion if he can help it. He likes his humor, and likes to make light of many situations as much as he can. He dislikes serious situations a great deal, and prefers to have conversation with people about them rather than himself. He takes pride in having a lot of friends, and doesn't like to isolate himself as he knows it leads to loneliness.
His mother has influenced him to become more like her in that he is organised, and methodical about the way he does things. His room is tidy, for one. It was her who comforted him when he was scared about the Games. She was the one who always looked after him and made him laugh when he was sad, so he has picked up her motherly care as a trait, as he knows how to look after others in the same way.
His father has influenced him to become stronger, and tougher. His father is a very manly character and is what you would expect a father of Luke to look and be like. Funny, but tough. Harsh and strict. His ways of teaching Luke to be strong weren't brutal in any way, but they were relentless. He had to work out all through his teens because his father was so scared of Luke being picked for Games, he felt it was his duty to protect him in any way he could. Every Games, the pair would remind each other that he would be fine, and nothing would happen. It was a completely innocent thought up until now. This is his last reaping, and they are both resting on the hope that he doesn't get chosen this time.History
Being born in District Eight means that you are at least born into a warm blanket, even though they are rare to begin with - even in the District that makes them. Luke was born normally and his upbringing was solidly nominal up until he was around five years old. When he first went to school he was expecting happiness and friends. He was met with strict teachers and a lot of misery due to the outlook on the brainwashing schools in Eight. Luke felt he had to liven it up, him and his new group of friends were to source of a lot of problems as they were generally more positive than was allowed. He has grown up to be more rebellious because of this, as from a young age his attitude has usually been frowned upon and he has never understood why.
When he was twelve he had to watch the first Games of his life. Not only that, but he was able to be reaped for it. He wasn't going to let himself be, but he couldn't help it if it became a reality. He didn't try to avoid it, as his father would be right behind him to stop him from making a foolish decision. Him and his mother got ready that morning and he can remember the shaking in his hands and legs. It had never changed since, and it won't the next time either, especially if the worst happens. The Games have a very big impact on him, as he most definitely doesn't appreciate the true meaning behind the Games. He can't get his head around the death. It's just sick. If he was there, he would try to kill as few as possible, though he knows he couldn't make any promises, we're all Human.
Up until recently, his life has been very uneventful. Nothing happens to Luke because he tries not to let anything happen to him. The occasional spur in school, or the skipping of class, but other than that, he is a very normal child in Eight. His day-to-day life only consists of privately training himself, and working as a machine minder, who lifts all the cloths out of the machines after they have been sewn together. Nothing has changed for a long time, and soon everything will - as he will either be reaped, or he will move out and work for himself, with his own allocated household and maybe even a family.
