I look at the girl waiting for an answer. She gives me a quick smile that and said "Borrowing, not stealing," I let out a loud scoff and my eyes were full of disbelief. If this girl thought I was a fool and stupid she was wrong. I’ve heard so many times that I knew better then to believe. Who borrows a boat? I mean I really don’t that she’s going to return it. Her next statement caught me off guard though “And as to what I'm doing, that's a good question. I'd like to see what's on the other side of this ocean but I'm pretty sure a row boat won't get me there. But you should come with me!" If it was possible my eyes widen further who in the hell did she think she was. I looked at her as she continued to yank at the knots with an air of frustration. I just stand there and watch not bothering to help.

"Damn it, this rope,” She murmured as she continued to yank it. "Help me out here?" she looked kind of desperate and I mean why would someone be that desperate to steal a boat, It’s ridiculous. “Give me one good reason why I should help you?” I ask my voice rising in annoyance. I mean that’s just stupid. All I wanted was tonight was some peace and quiet which was ruined by this girl. But I had to admit I thought she was kind of hot. I continued to stand there waiting for another answer as the cool sea breeze ruffled my blonde hair.

The girl stands up straight and looks at me for a while, ideas spinning inside her head. What I didn’t understand is why she wants to go into the ocean and she what she can see. Isn’t she happy at home and watching the waves from afar? I mean I can swim but I’ve been scared to go in the water since my sister died. Can’t she cause problems on solid ground and not try and steal boats. I can’t believe I’m in this situation. I didn’t think anyone would want to be out at this time of night. Ugh, this sucks. What would the consequences be if I do help? The girl gives me another mischievous smile and takes a step closer towards me. I feel my body tense all over and I wanted to take a step back but I forced myself to stand still. "Because if you don't help me..." The girl steps closer the smile still pasted to her face as she paused, “...I'll just do this.” She placed her hands on my chest and before I knew what was happening I flew back into the water.

The cold water was around me and I could tell which way was up or down. I try to relax as the water soaked into my clothes but it was almost impossible. I kicked upwards and finally I broke the surface gasping and spitting. I swim towards the shore and I stumbled onto the sand catching my breath. I felt something in me snap, I could’ve died just like my sister and it was this stupid girls fault. I felt myself frown as I stomped up onto the dock the water forming droplets on my skin. I wipe my eyes and face the girl. “ARE YOU STUPID?” I screamed at her, anger filling my body and mind, “I COULD’VE DIED…” I tried to calm myself, taking in deep breath "You didn't know if I could swim or anything.” I felt sick in the stomach and I felt a chill creep over me. I plonked down onto the dock and let my legs hang over the edge with my arms crossed. 

The night air sweeps over me and I shiver and cross my arms over my chest. I don’t know why I feel so depressed, I mean nothing actually happened. I run my hand through my wet cold hair and wipe it on to my pants. "Come on now, who lives in District Four and doesn't know how to swim?" I hear her giggle and turn to face her. I can’t believe this girl. She pushes me into the damn water and now she’s acting as if it has no consequences and everything’s fine. I shake my head feeling the water jobs soak into my damp shirt and I felt myself frown. Then the girl says, "I would have just pulled you out of the water. I'm CPR certified, you know. I'm not that stupid." I look at her again and she rolls her eyes. She pauses for a few seconds then she turns away and faces the pole where the rope was secured tightly. I am sick of this girl yet I feel drawn towards her like a mosquito to a light. I don’t want to leave. I watch her pull at the rope trying to get it loose.

Suddenly after a few more grunts from the girl I hear her let out a long breath and the rope drops to the floor. I see a satisfied look cross her face and then she turned towards me again. "You coming or what?" She yells back to me then jumps gracefully into the boat, "It's a lot easier when there's two people rowing this thing." I can see the boat move start to move away from the boat. Did I want to go on an adventure instead of feeling sorry for myself? It would be something fun and something to get my mind off my sister. But the thought that kept bothering me is, could I trust this girl. I mean she did push me into the water and I could’ve died. "Better get on fast,” The girl calls out. I stood up and yelled back, “Fine I will come but I don’t trust you or I don’t like you.” I step up the edge of the dock and push myself forward. I feel my feet connect with the wood on the boat and steady myself by putting my arms out. I step down from the seat and put my hands on my hips and say, “I don’t want any funny business and nothing stupid ok?”
