Name: Lewis McDowen
Age: 18
Gender: Male
District/Area: District Twelve
Codeword: oDair // Other: HiAppearance
6"0 with broad shoulders, Lewis is a large young man with very defined features on his face - his jawbone, nose and eyes are prominent and his shaven head makes his head feature more dominantly above most else other than his top-form, strong-looking body. However, it is clear that he doesn't get to eat as much as he would like, he looks as though he has tried to gain muscle too look bigger, but it hasn't quite happened as much as it could because he is rarely able to eat properly and consistently like some of the more better of District-members, in other Districts, get to.
He has big blue eyes, but his brow bones are large and makes his face look more defined. The way he moves and walks is determined by the amount of care he has for said movement. If he's in a hurry, he will just run - whereas some other may not want to run in case of looking a little foolish. He is somebody who is comfortable with how he looks and therefore takes less heed of what people think and more what he wants to look like. There isn't much for him to work with, as his hair is short and his body is as sculpted as he healthily can get away with.Personality
He is a serious young man, with a lot of troubles from the past. He avoids them and gets on with life, just like the whole District, but deep down he is despising every minute of the existence in Panem. He doesn't want to die, because he is one of the many being played a fool, thinking they have a chance of freedom in Panem. The reality isn't quite clear to him as all he sees is the District - but even there he sees suffering all around. People in the Seam dropping like flies in the cold, and burning up in the summers. His personality reflects his negligence for a typical life, and the desire for change.
His Mother, for the time that she was around, was a heavy influence in his caring nature. The fact that she is not around anymore has pressed that personality into him and made him appreciate the good things in life, just like she taught him to do. His Father took the death of his Mother hard, which made the relationship between him and Lewis sour. Lewis had few options, as the orphanage wasn't going to accept an eighteen year old. He would have to move out if he truly wanted to get away from the house, but that isn't going to happen until he is nineteen, and unable to be in the Games - why would they waste space with potential tributes?
His friends and family are few in number, and it makes him lonely at the best of times. Being socially deprived gives him time to think of things, but it also means the few friends he has are usually good ones. His personality reflects the happiness he finds in the smaller things that can provide joy in the dark places, which are all around in District Twelve.History
Born in District Twelve, and likely to die in District Twelve - unless 'the odds' are 'in his favor'. Lewis was born to loving parents who raised him as best they could in District Twelve, in the Seam. Those in the Seam have grey, misty eyes that range from blues to light greens, usually. He is one of those people. His parents were too, and theirs before them. Lewis' mother and father decided to have a child so that he could go to work and make money. It was only after that they grew to see the reality of child life and how beautiful it can be. He didn't know their earlier motives, nor did they speak much of it. But when his mother died of hunger, a problem in which she hid from her household as not to cause a fuss - and go peaceful into the dark, his father grew bitter and hateful about the situation. This is when his father slipped into a painful depression.
From the depression, Lewis found himself unable to cope with house life, but he had to feed his father, because deep down he does love him still. He can't just leave him to go off like his mother. The death of his mother, which happened when Lewis was fifteen, affected him a lot too. It made him stronger, after all of the crying was done, but also made him see some reality that he needed to make it, and perhaps work enough to leave the Seam and start a family outside of it. It was, and is his belief that this was his mother's wish.
Now, Lewis is still that same person, but he is on the brink of transitioning between the horrible, hate-filled home in the Seam and the less so horrible outer houses in the District. Perhaps one day, he'll actually be allowed to see the Victor's Village - and be able to walk the halls. Some half of him wants to be in the Games, yet the other fears that he would have to change in order to be alive.
