District 5.

Appearance:
Felix (Lix) struggled with his appearance as a young child. He never really knew how he wanted to look, and just went with what everyone else said to do. It was when he was thirteen that he changed completely. Naturally, his hair is black in colour and up until he turned thirteen it had been cropped short to his head. Since then he's grown it longer and longer until it is how it is today; pretty much covering his eyes and ears. To him, it feels safe. He has light blue eyes, but they hold a constant sadness to them even when he smiles. As a child his smile was contagious, his whole family loved it. Nowadays, it would be a shock if there was just the slight hint of an upturn to the corner of his lips.
His skin is pale in complexion because he tends to wear clothes that hide his thin, yet slightly toned body. The clothes came about around a year ago, when he started hiding away. To hide the bruises that littered his tiny frame of around 5 foot 5 inches; the smallest one in his family to be precise. But then again, he's only fifteen so he has time to grow.
Personality:
During Lix's childhood he was always bubbly. He had high spirits and thought the best of everyone. It was one of those personalities that other people envied. He never seemed to be brought down by anything; not the weather or when his friends wouldn't go out to play with him in the street. He had a great sense of humour, one that would get everyone laughing, especially when it was mixed in with his charming attitude.
That all changed though when he turned thirteen. Something changed him so much that his bubbly, happy-go-lucky personality was wiped away from him in the blink of an eye. In replace of it was the personality of a boy who held no hope for himself and would rather be on his own than try to form any kind of conversation with anyone, let alone the friends he always wanted to play with in the street.
Nowadays it is more common to see Liz with a grim expression spread across his face and dark thoughts running through his head. He can no longer look at the world and think of it being a wonderful place because all of that was ripped away from him. He's skittish when he sees large, burly men; the nightmares of that one day coming back to haunt him. He can't remember how to be happy with people, let alone how to talk to them without pushing them away. It's just all a confusing world to him now. On very rare occasions a ghost of a smile spreads across his lips, either when he sees someone just like him; suffering just like him. It makes him feel less alone, yet he doesn't try to befriend them, he just keeps walking by.
He's a loner in every sense of the word. He has no one to turn to about what happens at home and he had no one to help take the pain away with. Many think he's forgotten how to talk, gone mute as it where, but that's not the case. He just doesn't see the point in talking to anyone when there's a threat living in his once homely home and the likelihood that he'll talk out of place and have more people after him, just like his father and brothers.
Sometimes he wishes he could have just one friend that could understand him and not judge him. Someone that wouldn't see the marks that marred his body or the sadness in his eyes. For once he wants to feel normal, but he knows he can never feel that way.
History:
Lix was born into one of those loving families, the ones that people usually only heard of in stories or dreams. Yet, that's exactly what he had. He was the youngest by far, with the closest sibling to him in age being six years older than him. His family was normal, with a mother and a father and siblings; two twin older brothers, now at the age of 26 and a sister who was 6 when he was born. His childhood was happy, his parents were happy and his sibling relationship was tender, just like anyone's. They all got along well, especially himself and his sister seeing as they were closest in age and because she was much more of a tomboy than their parents would have liked.
Despite all of that, the mood in the family turned dark one year; the year of his thirteenth birthday. The whole family had met up for a walk, seeing as his brothers had moved out of the family home a long time ago. Lix had felt something was off but whenever he told his sister she'd laugh at him and tell him he was being being silly. They'd all gone on a longer walk than normal because the weather was so nice, deciding to take the longest walk back home rather than the way they'd just come. That was when Lix should have kicked up more of a fuss to go the other way.
Not too long into the walk home, havoc broke out. Men came from all directions, or that's what it felt like for Lix being a scrawny thirteen year old. They attacked, all for money, and his mother and sister. Lix went into a state of shock rather than doing something to help and his sister saw this, pushing him out of the rabble and telling him to run. So he did. In blind panic he ran for his life with one man chasing after him. He ended up tripping and being beaten down by the man pursuing him, only to not die but be left as good as dead. Lix hurt all over but he managed to push himself up and stumble his way home.
That's when he wished once more that he had never returned home and that man had killed him. His mother and sister had died during the fight because his father and twin brothers had been out numbered and knocked out. They blamed Lix of betraying them and being a coward. So as well as suffering the guilt and pain of losing his mother and sister, he was mocked, beaten and verbally abused by the people he used to call family; his father being the worst. And that's how it's been every day since then.
The old Lix was gone, and the new one looked like he was staying.
