I have stuffed myself full and am now tiredly stab my carrot with my fork. I message my temples, the talking giving me a pounding headache. I have decided not to sit beside Moss and Luke today, not because I don't like them but because I want to get to know the people who I am supposed to kill, and who is supposed to kill me. The thumping in my skull reminds me of my little siblings stomping upstairs, the floorboards shaking. They were so very loud, almost as loud as the tributes. I look around, finding the people from the higher districts talking the most. I turn back to my carrot and stab it, imagining I was stabbing on of the careers, my fork going right through it.
I take another look around, the two seats as empty as my stomach had been a few minutes ago. Empty, very empty. I stand up, pushing my chair back and leave the table, leaving my food behind. I go back to bows and soon loose interest after a few minutes. Frustrated, I look around for a window or door. Maybe I could sneak out without anyone would noticing. I would be back after everyone was done eating. But then I thought of how I could carry on with training, making my chances of survival higher. So I go the trapping station. I've seen traps before but I have never got the chance to make one, even though I am from district ten. It's boring and I struggle to focus and find myself looking around, hoping someone will come and join me. I shake my head and turn back to the herbs, wondering what the heck to do with them.
