- Appearance:
Laeryn stands at about 5ft 6' and weighs around 44kg. She has dull, faded brown hair which measures down to her shoulderblades, but strangely contrasting green eyes. She has a slim figure due to both malnutrition and the work she is involved in, but no noticeable muscle. She looks fairly healthy, considering the conditions of District 11.
She mostly wears skinny jeans that tuck into a pair of black ankle length boots, along with a plain black tank top. Occasionally she will wear a thin brown jacket, but only in cold weather. Laeryn may also tie her hair back on particularly hot days.
Regarding looks, she is nowhere near ugly, but isn't overly good looking. She considers looks mostly unimportant anyway.
- Personality:
Laeryn is generally a helpful person, usually volunteering to do other jobs beside her own. She will gladly run errands for anyone who needs something done, and to the best of her ability. Her main flawis that she can be nieve, and is willing to help ANYONE if they can convince her they are half-decent (When they're not)
She never fails to meet deadlines, but often this can get in the way of other important things. She could easily meet the deadline for one thing, but miss it for another, and this often gets her in trouble.
The main problem with Laeryn is that due to her trusting nature, she can be a liability to others. Her mind often trails off if she is left doing nothing, and finds it difficult to manage stress.
- History:
Laeryn was born during the 49th Hunger Games, A very bad time to be born into her family. Her father was in the process of been prosecuted for murder, and her mother was an emotional wreck. Her dad was eventually put in a small Capitol prison on the outskirts of her district around 2 years later, and she spent the next 7 years with a ruined mother, who always blamed everything on her. They had next to no income due to her father been imprisoned, as he was the main worker of the household. By the time she was 10, however, her mother began to calm down due to the fact that Laeryn could start working in the fields and picking berries. And she did, for a while. Though it barely made a difference, her mother was more content, and so Laeryn's home life became a lot easier.
Age 12, she had begun a proper job, tending the land and helping grow the crops. Along with the work, came a higher pay, although once again, it made almost no difference. The main thing she hated about this was been under the constant, piercing gaze of a platoon of Peacekeepers, as she was always scared of doing something wrong.
Now, at 16, Her mother has began work again, though it's only a basic trading job. They hardly have enough money to eat, but the combined income from both Laeryn and her mother is enough for them to just barely scrape by. With no more word on her father, she continues to live with the hope that he will be released. Little did she know that he was executed a few years prior.
