A quiet sighed passed through the young man, his blue eyes lidded as he leaned back against the deep brown bark of a tree. Head tilting upwards, the young man watched what was left of the leaves swish and sway in the chilly wind. He pulled the dark coat around his shoulders tighter around his body, a shiver passing through him. The terrible snowy weather had started to pass a little, but damn was it still cold outside.
“Shit, I wonder how long this'll last...” he murmured to himself, watching his hot breath turn into a white cloud in front of him before it lazily drifted upwards and away. “I like the snow as much as the next guy, but... ...damn.”
Another shiver passed through him, and it was then Justin decided that he'd had enough of the snow and the cold. Pressing a hand behind him onto the rough tree bark, the young man pushed himself up into a standing position. For a moment, he remained there in that spot, letting a yawn pass through his lips as he stretched himself out, waking up his body.
Huffing with a contentedness that filled him, Justin stuffed his hands deeply into the coat that lay over his shoulders. He couldn't help but feel, for once really, grateful that he had been the only child in his family. They weren't rich, but hell, only needing to feed one kid had gotten them a lot more money than some of the poor saps out there... The jacket he wore now kept him warm when he knew that there were some kids out there who merely huddled up beside their fireplaces and hoped that they kept warm.
But he didn't like to think about those kinds of things much... Instead, his mind wandered to simpler things.
“I wonder what time it is. It can't be too late. The baker ought to still have his breakfast stuff out...”
Justin picked up his pace, his body moving clumsily through the snow as he attempted to jog through the powder and ice. Coming to the marketplace, he only slowed a little, ducking around people and gently nudging his way through the morning bustle. Everyone was used to doing the same as they all tried to barter and trade for the food they wanted to set upon the table for their families.
It was a quick trip, and a small coin to get his breakfast. Now both his body and mind wandered the streets as he vacuumed down the food, footsteps taking him in whichever direction his body was currently pointing. Eventually, he stopped outside the training gym. His eyes watched blankly as people entered the building, and a few leaving. It took a moment for his mind to catch up to his body, for Justin to realize that he stood where he was. A small smile came to his face, though, as he realized it.
“Yeah, I suppose it's been a while... I've been training at the academy, but... There's no place like home, right?” he mumbled to himself, pushing the door open and stepping into the gym. Drawing in a deep breath, he wandered further in, wandering to the floor mats in search of his favorite sport.
[[ Sorry for the poor start. I feel it's kinda really a lot rusty and rambling. xD But I guess it's a start. ]]
