ARGONITE SHORE
The moment the moles had bailed, Argonite turned to the seaweed-strewn water. He submerged himself, face down, rubbing at the open wounds on his chest. He poked each one, and none gave. Shallow cuts, just the scratchings of an offended rodent. He forced the remaining air in his lungs out his nose, coming up through a blanket of green. Argonite snatched his fedora before it became ensnared in the tide. He was clear, but soaked.
"Someone should start a fire," he said casually as he waded back to the thin shore. Each step brought him closer to freedom. He fought with the belt of the gi, dug his fingers in against his stomach until it finally released. He discarded his helmet, his shoes, and finally the sopping gi. With a wink to the sky, Argonite flipped his fedora over his dewy bronze spikes. He stood for a moment, making sure the cameras had a chance to capture him in all his glory. He hadn't felt so alive in ages, and what irony. Naked and bloodied in the arena, with only a fedora for protection, and he was in perfect control.
Aronite tossed his empty water jug towards the small campfire. "That ought to do it. C'mon. We need a break." The moment he stepped back into the warm water, the seaweed wound around him. He was better clothed by its verdant embrace than the gi by the time he made it past the first set of waves.
It was a beautiful day - as good as days ever got in One. He wanted to swim and jump and run. He lifted his hands to the sky, wondering of any of this atoned for what he had done, only the day prior. Surely taking Ares under his wing counted for something. As sure as the fact that if he wanted to see Opal and Petalite and even Pyrite again, he would have to stop collecting allies, and start eliminating enemies. The sun blinded him temporarily. He ducked his chin, hiding behind the fedora's shade. And what of the day when my allies become my enemies?
He flipped, dunking himself and holding onto his hat for dear life. When he came up again, he was a tangle of seaweed and exaggerated gestures. He honked. "I'm a duck, get it? Duck, duck, goose!" He reached for Francesca to tag her.
Argonite fills his empty water jug.
He has his jug purified by Ares? Francesca?
Drinks one jug water.
Refills but does not purify the jug.
