Silver is second best. Silver is a consolation trophy, saying that you will never be first. That is what silver is.
All the Sterling kids are known in the District for having different fathers. Who knows who they are? Not Mama Sterling, that's for sure. And the kids don't know either. They've grown up piled on top of each other, raising one another while their mom was disappearing.

STERLINGS:

• Mama Sterling-mid-thirties-female-Demi-Kristin Chenoweth
  Mama Sterling-whose name is Caroline, by the way, although you can call her just about anything- never really grew up. That's why she's maybe not the best parent. She might drink a lot, and she might be an ex-prostitute, but hey, she loves her kids, and that's what matters, right?
• Roxanne Sterling-18-female-open-face claim
  There's a lot of people surprised that Roxanne grew up okay, considering the standards of her childhood. She spent a lot of time left on her own at an age far too young, which made her decide to take care of her siblings as they came along to keep them from living like she did. She's brittle, and she's got a temper, and she tends to snap at people. Most of it is from the stress of virtually mothering three teenagers when she's just a teen herself. Let's all hope she doesn't crack under the stress someday.
• Harper Sterling-17-male-open-face claim
  Born when his sister was just two, Harper grew up much the same way she did until she was old enough to care for him. He's taken it more lightly than her, however, and doesn't view life with the same obligations she does. Harper's not a person to be concerned with much, but when he worries about something-that's when you know it's bad.
• Gavin Sterling-16-?-open-face claim
  Gavin's only a year younger than Harper, but Gavin's infinitely less mature-which is saying a lot, considering Harper. Gav's never been known to be the smartest, or the strongest-but Gav's definitely clever enough. Gav just chooses to hide it mostly, cause it kind of works to your advantage when people don't expect you to think the way you do, see?
• Brisette Sterling-14-female-open-face claim
  Bri isn't the nicest Sterling. By far. She's a little bit bitter and a little bit stubborn and more than a little bit constantly irritated with her family, but deep down, she loves them. Probably.
  She's also a lot vainer than the other Sterlings. She's a lot like her mother that way, and-not that Rox would tell anyone, but she's horribly worried that Bri's going to turn out the same way as their mother.

Do what you want with the characters. Gender, name, personality- I don't care. Go nuts. I'd prefer for the ages to stay the same, but I'm flexible on those too. Basically these are the roughest outlines ever, though, so feel free to make them your own!
