Boxes stacked against the wall is the sight that geets me as I enter my new room in our new house. I didn't have any say in us moving districts, my dads job forced us to pack up and leave behind everything wr knew in district two. I miss it so much, the nut, the training center, my friends. It was a teary good-bye but it wasn't my choice, it never is my choice anymore. It's always the Capitol that calls the shots, I guess I will have to learn to cope with it. My feet carried me towards t window that looked out over the ocean and I gazed at the shore, longing for my old house and for Thomas and Markus and all the other host club members. I hate it here, I don't want this smell of salt in my nose, I want the smell of the stone mines and the smell of sweat as kids trained at the training center.

"Ebony, why don't you go explore the district?" My mother called, making me sigh. "Go down to the beach." She said. I slid on a pair of jeans and pulled on a hoodie, hoping to not freeze while I was down tere. I padded down the stairs, heading out the door with a small frown, my mothers voice following me with something about having fun. Highly unlikely i thpught bitterly before stepping out into the cool afternoon air.

Heading down to thw beach, i found a small stair case that led down to the beach and felt eyes follow me. I was the new girl in the district, nobody knew who I was. Maybe, this woupdn't be so bad. I picked up a stone as I approached the shore and chucked it in, listening to it splash into the water. The ocean spray soaked my face and I spat out the salty wetness that coated my tongue in disgust. How did people live like this? Picking up another rock, I thoufht about Thomas and our tentative attempts at romance. Now we would never know if those sparks were real.

As I walked along the shore, keeping out of the white foam that coated the edge of the tide, I foubd myself slowly relaxing, the sound of the waves slapping against thw shore surprisingly soothing. I smiled, stpping for a moment to just enjoy the view as i pulled off my hood to reveal my white blonde hair. I had to admit, it was beautiful even though it certainly wasn't home. I wonder if I will even make any friends here.

Time can be damaging. Time can also be healing. Either way I look at it, it's both. Healing from the damage or being damaged by the healing is hurting me with each and every passing day. Every time I look out into the water, it's just simply amazing how the currents havn't swallowed me up like my brother. How each and every day, I challenge the water poseidon into thinking I will become it's next victim but somehow evade his grasp. I'm too buoyant to let the water take me under the surface of the water. Too headstrong.

Too afraid to let it.

Too stubborn not to fight it.

So, today, my plans are to heal. I seek solace from the water in front of me. I want to become one with it cause it's the only way to survive. Their's a big peice of my brother that belongs to these waters. A peice of my brother that will always look over me. I'm starting to think that because of his sacrifice, that I'm the one that way spared that day. So, what will the gods offer me in return for the blood of my brother?

"What?" I say outloud, as my gaze washes over the edge of the ocean that's lapping at my feet. It's weird how all of this has come to pass. How my parents have changed since my brother's death. Their lives have been turned upside down. They had one kid... ONE KID, to make it past the reaping age. Safe from the clutches of the capital with such a huge future in front of him and he's suddenly taken as though the capitol thinks its some kind of joke.

I scoop up a handful of semi-wet sand into my hand. It molds perfectly around my fingers and between my thumb and index finger it squishes out as I try to keep it together. A sudden jerking motion with my wrist has the handful of sand plummeting into the waters of the ocean, but it don't stay there. The ocean rejects it and pushes it back at me with the next wave. I sigh. Heavily. My knees are drawn up to my body, spread apart so that my elbows lay on my knees and my fingers interconnect in the middle. Complete relaxation comes to me from this open beach. Hardly a soul has decided upon gracing the sand with their prints except for mine so far.

With a groan, I flop backwards into the portion of the sand that's actually dryer than what I just grabbed into my hand. One. Two. Three deep breaths follow with my eyes being closed. I'm soaking up any heat that the sun has left into the tiny grains and hoping that the heat may sooth my aching muscles from yesterday's work. Today, I'm free. A once in a while thing that always finds me back toward the one place that I wish to get away from when I'm working.

The ocean. It is my best friend. My healer. My destroyer. It is the push and pull of my life.

Then comes a sound. A very faint, but audible sound of Footsteps? Who will I be meeting up with today? I figured it might be Yarren or Darma, so I turn my head and allow my vision to fall upon a sea maiden. Someone that I've never seen before in my life. A smile grows on my lips the moment I look at her. She seems to have not noticed me yet, so I place my hands under my head and just wait her out. If she heads over here, we'll see. Maybe she's on her way to work with no time to stop. Either way, it intrigues me why she's even down here in this remote place away from the shops.

Life can be so full of surprises that it's sometimes hard to keep track of all of them. District four is definitely not district two and as I wander along the shore, I find myself daydreaming of home, what are Thomas and Markus and Gaston doing right now? When I'd left, they'd been terribly upset but there wasn't much I could do about it, legally I wasn't old enough to be on my own and even though I knew any of them would gladly take me in, I didn't want to burden them with another mouth to feed. I miss you Thomas I thought as I picked up another stone and tossed it into the water. Most likely, one of them is most likely causing mischief while Markus tries to keep everything running smoothly. Oh lord, they're going to fall apart, who's going to keep order? I realized. I had become sort of the mom in the group of boys I considered family, they were like my brothers and I would have done anything for them.

The sun glittering on the for now calm ocean is breath taking, stunning actually. I've never seen anything quite like it back in district two. A smile tugged at the corners of my lips as I gazed upon the glorious sight before me before looking along the beach, wondering if anyone else would be here. That was when I spotted him, a few yards away, flopped in the sand and staring at me. From here, I could see the smirk on his face. Great, another too cocky district four boy I stopped the thought cold, I was trying to make friends, not judging people. Goodness, when did I become so judgemental? Since meeting the other host club members, I'd become quite comfortable around guys, this one should be no different, but as I approached, I felt something stir within me that was odd, something that made my cheeks flush a light pink and made me feel Nervous Snap out of it Eb, since when do you get nervous?

I put on a smile as I got closer to him, my oddly colored eyes taking him in. He was cute to say the least but my mind kept telling me that he was probably some cocky ass hat who would end up hurting me. I really need to stop making so many judgements, I hadn't even properly been introduced and already I was making assumptions. What was wrong with me, I'd have thought being friends with mainly all guys would make me less judgemental but I guess at my core, I am still a female and we make judgements on people whether we like to or not. He had reddish hair that seemed to be the norm here in four and I couldn't quite tell what color his eyes were. Maybe he'll turn out to be really nice. I looked at him for a moment, stopping only a few feet away. "Hello" I said, feeling the cool ocean breeze against my back.

In between watching the thin and airy clouds waft by with the ocean breezes, I can't help but lower my eyes just enough to see her light colored hair and fair skin glint against the sun's rays. Already, my mind is curious about her. She looks nothing like the other girls from around here leading me to beleive that she's from somewhere far away from this area or something. The oceans smell lingers in my nose while the gulls are causing their annoying chirps of hunger for scraps. I roll my eyes at the birds and realize that she's getting closer than before. As she nears me, my mind draws a complete blank. I don't budge from where I've laid down on the now cold sand. My body has taken away what heat it has provided me, but it would seem that it is needed even less now with the presence of this pale haired beauty.

Her figure is shaped out perfectly that all I can do is stare at her in awe. I'm shocked into silence for some reason, but I grab ahold of myself quickly when she starts to talk. Actually, she doesn't talk much. Just a simple word, that in itself, I hear the sweet sound of her voice that I have to replay in my head once more just to get my mouth to move correctly. My mind doesn't cope well around beautiful women like some of my smoother companions do. I know that for a fact. My mouth opens to say something but the only thing that escapes is silence.

I clear my throat and sit up suddenly, and turn my attention to her so that I may answer her sweet greeting. I only hope that my mouth doesn't screw it for me. "Hey sweetheart... what brings you down here?" I question her. The moment I recollect the exact words I just said to her, I feel like apologizing already, but it's too late now. All I can do is go with it.

My eyes wandered to the boy lying in the sand before me, taking him in. Perhaps, it would be good to have a few friends in district four, considering all of my friends were back at home in District two. Nonetheless, I don't know if I should get attached just yet until I know for sure that we are in fact staying here indefinitely. I smiled at him after the greeting and felt my cheeks turn red as he spoke. "Hey sweetheart... what brings you down here?" He said. I could see that he regretted the words as soon as he spoke them but I found it kind of flattering. I was a new person in district four, of course he'd never seen me before. I felt a small smile pull at the edges of my lips. "I guess I'm just curious, I've never seen the ocean before" Great Eb, now he probably thinks you're strange I chastised myself for my idiotic reply.

I await his response, looking out over the ocean. It's nearing the summer time and the water is beautiful. I remember a dream I had one night, a dream about the ocean and a boy. Could he be the boy from my dreams? I shook my head, a stupid thought. It was not logical that this stranger could be the boy from my dreams, I'd only just met him yet, his hair was the same and he looked to be about the same build. Perhaps... No, stop being foolish Ebony I told myself, feeling the water spray my pale hair as I stood there on the beach.

The sand digs between my toes as I use it as a partial leverage to getting up so abruptly. Especially, when this light haired beauty decides to actually grace me with her presence. No matter how horrid my attempts are to woo her, I still feel regreat when I call her 'sweetheart'. The other guys just go with it. They never try to explain their wordings and I've learned from the best. I keep a calm, level head while my eyes search her fantastic features for something to stay upon, but her entire being deserves to just be caressed with my eyes. I hope she doesn't notice... then again, who wouldn't?

For some reason, I'm actually rewarded with a smile from her beautiful, pink lips. Her corners increase in height, showing that my endearment was to be liked; maybe, adored? Confidence seems to raise just a hair now that she isn't like any other woman I've ran into and tried to use that kind of compliment toward them. I've only had luck of the mal kind, when they would turn away from me and walk with laughter in their throats. This one doesn't move. Instead she graces me with her words. Her sweet sound rings high in my ears about being curious. How she's never seen the ocean before. Anyone, whose anyone, knows what the oceans water looks like; tastes like. Feel like?

"Where have you been that you've never seen the ocean?" I question her, truely curious about her heritage. Only now, do I feel the need to actually stand, and within a moment, my knees bend and then straighten, bringing me to my full height against hers. Not much taller am I to her, but it's enough that I can look her almost eye to eye. My fingers move quickly against my pants, dusting off the sand and folding my arms up in front of me, legs spead at an even pace apart. Again, my eyes caresses her entire being for only a moment, then I nod my head into the direction of the lapping ocean waves that spray when reached the edge. "Why not see the ocean for what it is?" I turn and walk to the water's edge, with the lapping water touching my toes. I can't help but give off a small chuckle when I turn to her. "Come on. Don't just stand there."

"Where have you been that you've never seen the ocean?" The question that comes out of him makes me blush. He must think me a fool because I have never seen the ocean and surely everyone in district four has seen the ocean. I, though, am not like most people in district four, I am not originally from this beautiful place but I wish I were. I watch as his eyes take me in before he stands up, letting me see how tall he actually is. I'm not tiny but I'm not a giant either and he is maybe an inch or two taller than I. "I'm..." I trail off, unsure of how to answer that. "Why not see the ocean for what it is?" he says, turning towards the water. He pauses at the edge, seeming to be so at home in this place that I barely know anything about. I hesitate for a few moments, trying to decide if it's really a good idea. I hear him chuckle and my cheeks flame before he speaks again. "Come on. Don't just stand there." Demanding one isn't he? I think, a slight smile gracing my lips before I walk to the edge of the water to stand next to him.

To say that the sight is breathtaking is an understatement. Having never seen the vast blueness of the ocean before in my life, it is the most stunning thing I have seen before. For a few moments, I just stand there, dumbstruck and unable to speak before looking to this boy whose name I don't even know. How rude I have been, I haven't even told him mine. "It's... I can't even describe it... Beautiful." I say, my voice probably making me sound like a fool. My oddly colored eyes turn to him, knowing he's probably curious about who I am. "My name is Ebony, Ebony Winds, and the reason why I've never seen the ocean before is because, well, I just moved here from district two" My voice starts off strong but by the end, my eyes are downcast and my voice has gone soft. I don't know why I've told this boy what I have but something in me recognizes him from somewhere. I just can't put a finger on where.

Slipping off my shoes, I dip my feet into the cold water and the shock sends a thrill through me. Never before have I had the chance to dip my feet into water like this, cold and fresh and salty. I know for a fact that now that I live here, I will not be able to ever wash the salt from my white blonde hair, it will be impossible but I don't know if at this moment I'd want to. My eyes go to the boy and I smile. "I don't think you ever told me who you are" I say, blushing. I miss the guys from the host club, I really do, but perhaps this is what I need to get over them, another boy in my life.

I'm trying to charm this beauty that has suddenly appeared out of no where. Not in a bad way, but respectful as I can. She seems, and without the answer, to never have seen the ocean as the vast majority of it seems to overtake her emotions. She hesitates. Anyone else in this district that was born and raised here wouldn't take a second to pause and look or hesitate. She's really not from around here. My mission has unknowingly been set just by her refusal to adhere to my begging. I want her to come to the water and experience the feel of the saltwater touching her toes. She, and everyone, deserves to have this magnificant experience. If only my brother hadn't been taken. If he had only stayed away that day. I begin to think if I may be dooming her to the ocean's wrath by introducing her to it as well. Just as my brother introduced me, but it was his life taken before mine. Is my life in danger when I introduce her? The next in line? To give a life is to take a life...

I watch her face and her body stance until she moves nearer to me, but stops at the edge right before her shoes can be touched by the lapping waves. She don't move at all. She just stands there and it confuses me. Don't you trust me? I'm not going to throw you in. Despite what you've heard, I'm not a bad guy, if you've even heard that? I reach my hand out for her to take, move my fingers in the gesture to come to me, but finally, I hear her speak. At least, I am graced with her sweet voice a bit more before she ditches me, right? I'm half expecting her to just take a step back and walking away, laughing at me all the while.

"It's... I can't even describe it... Beautiful." I nod with her accusation about the water. About the huge ocean that seems to go on forever, without end. There is no land on the other side, just ocean. It goes on forever and ever. Somehow, I'm entranced by her. The foreign look of her appearance, that pale skin where mine is not. Her pale hair where mine is dark. She is the exact opposite of this districts residents and I've fallen for this mysterious lady.

"My name is Ebony, Ebony Winds, and the reason why I've never seen the ocean before is because, well, I just moved here frmo district two." Is that why she's never seen the ocean. Why she's never stuck her foot into the water. Interesting

I glance down the moment she moves, her feet slipping out of her shoes and her first step into the water has me giddy. For years, this water has been everything to me. It's the push and pull of my life. It keeps me sane, yet in the same way, insane. Life is water. Water is life. For a small portion of my waking life, she's taking up a bit of that life. I follow her but go in a few more feet than her until the water is up around my knees. I sway with the way the water moves and pushes me toward the shore. It's pushing me towards her, but I keep my feet planted into the sinking sand below.

With folded arms in front of myself, I give Ebony this huge, wide grin. "Sweetheart, I thought you already knew? No? My bad. I'm Jax. I live on the water not far from here. Fisherman's kid. So, what do you think Ebony of the Winds? Think you may like it here? Swimming whenever your heart desires?" So, she hasn't heard about me, yet? She has no clue who I am. Who my family is... or used to be. It's like starting over new. I turn away from her. My back against her, but not in a rude format. I stretch out my arms and bring them over my head and stretch.

"Start over new, Ebony of the winds. Let the waves carry you." I turn my uppor torso to glance back at her. "Come in further. I won't let you drown."

I feel my flames flare over my pale cheeks as I feel he is teasing me. The sight of him in the water, the way it seems so much a part of him is breathtaking, to think that he has lived here his whole life, these are probably the same waters in which he first learned to swim. Of course, I can kind of swim, they had pools in district two, but this is much larger than any pool I have ever seen. He follows me before going in a little deeper and I eye him, rolling my jeans up so that they're above my knees.

"Sweetheart, I thought you already knew? No? My bad. I'm Jax. I live on the water not far from here. Fisherman's kid. So, what do you think Ebony of the Winds? Think you may like it here? Swimming whenever your heart desires?" He grins, folding his arms over his chest as he acts like I should know who he is. Of course, I haven't been in the district long enough to have heard any of the rumors.

I cannot help but stare as he turns away from me, stretching out. I must admit, he is quite good looking, who could have known that I'd make a friend on my first trip into the district? "Start over new, Ebony of the winds. Let the waves carry you." Ebony of the Winds the nickname sends a slight shiver down my spine before I see him beckoning me to come join him deeper in the water. The waves lapping around my ankles are cold but they aren't as bad as I thought they'd be. "Come in further. I won't let you drown." he says and the flames that had been in my cheeks moments before spring up again as I take a deep breath and decide to trust him. "Alright, I'll come in." I say, unable to resist the smile that comes to my cheeks. Before going in though, I shed my jacket, not really needing it as the sun is out in its full glory and I can already feel the heat on my head.

As I wade in deeper, I take Jaxes hand, finding comfort in having him there with me. The moment my skin touches his, I feel an electric shock run through me. I wonder if he felt it too I wonder before shaking my head. I'd only just met him like ten minutes ago, surely he wasn't interested.

Ebony of the winds? Where the hell did that come from? O'well. Just go with it. I think to myself as the water beats against the back of my legs. With each motion, it seems to pull me back into the enormous ocean behind me only to have it a second later pushing me forward toward her. It can never make up its mind in the end, and I guess the same goes for me. I'm always torn between two evils, though one may always be more fun. Choosing the one I want is the whole purpose, right?

Go for the pull of the tide, Ebony. Join me? Won't you? You won't regret it. I bring out the words that I won't let her drown, in case she's afraid of the intimidating waves taking her under. Today, the waves aren't harsh. The rip current is weak today, allowing just the perfect amount of push and pull without it being too bad. I keep my torso turned in her direction for the time being as she agrees to come in closer. A dimple infused grin appears when she actually makes that motion to start removing her jacket. Already, those thoughts run rampant through my head, but so much that I have to peel my eyes away from her to remain respectful. Even in my own thoughts, I deem myself to remain a gentleman. If I were anyone else...

I gaze back to the water, bending down in order to let my fingers feel the cool water pushing against my hand. Anything to get my mind back to the task at hand. Come enjoy the water, little breeze. When I turn to look at her, she's without her jacket and stepping in deeper. That alone has me standing back up, straight up against the gentle breeze with my heart thumping loudly in my ears. She holds out her hand and when her skin touches mine, I get blasted with a shot of frozen ice through my viens. Nice.

"Like it?" I ask her. I look down to see that she's as far in as I am, the foam of the ocean concentrating around her calves. I'm mesmorized as I take my gaze back to our hands when I finally realize that she's entrusted me with her safety to not let her fall in. And fall in you won't while you're with me.

"Kinda move one leg above the other, then dig your toes into the sand. Plant yourself into the shore. It'll keep you from rocking too much. Besides, it feel like nothing else. Don't worry... it's not like stepping in mud. This is much different. Just, becareful. The shells can be sharp." I tease her, and keep my hold on her hand, gently, and quickly, rubbing my thumb over her skin. Just enough of a movement to keep me hooked on the site before I extend my other hand outward and point toward an area not far from where I stand. "Just over there, is where I learned how to swim. To my dad, you sink or swim. My brother... is the one who taught me to respect the ocean."

Pulling my feet out of the sand that I've stabilized myself in, I gently tug her further in. "Wanna get wetter?"

Idiot... that sounded so wrong. I squint my eyes, turning my head to the side and shaking my head vigorously a little bit. "I only mean to dive in... it's best to just dive in if your nervous. Are you? Nervous?"

I feel my heart give a small flutter as our skin makes contact and I look at him to see him gazing at me. My cheeks color before he speaks. "Like it?" he asks and I can't help but nod. Breathe, Eb, don't let him see his affect on you I try to tell myself but the blush is already there, no doubt he has seen it. What does he think of me? Does he think I'm weird for blushing too much?

I can tell that he is teasing me and surprisingly, I don't mind it at all, in fact, I kind of like it. I feel a tingle go up my spine as his thumb seems to absently rub my hand and I wonder if he realizes the affect he has on me. Do I have the same affect on him. I doubt it.

My eyes follow his hand as he points out a spot not too far away from where we stand. "Just over there, is where I learned how to swim. To my dad, you sink or swim. My brother... is the one who taught me to respect the ocean." I catch the tone in his voice and it sounds almost sad. It makes me curious as to what happened to his brother but before I can ask, he tugs me further into the water. "Wanna get wetter?" I suppress a giggle for I am sure that the way it came out was not what he meant. I raise my eyebrow at him, laughter sparkling in my oddly colored eyes before he speaks again. "I only mean to dive in... it's best to just dive in if your nervous. Are you? Nervous?" he asks. I have to admit that I am a little bit nervous but as I look down at myself I realize there is another problem, I am still fully clothed and while I may have put my bathing suit on this morning as my parents had told me to start doing on a regular basis, I still had to get the rest of my outfit off and I wasn't sure if I wanted to do that in front of Jax.

Blushing, I smiled. "I've swum before, we had pools back in district two but I've never swum in the ocean before and it's a little intimidating I must admit, such a vast stretch of water" I admit, looking down at our joined hands. Somehow, it doesn't feel odd that he is holding my hand, it simply feels right. Does he feel this too, this seeming connection that we have to each other? I wonder before letting go of his hand for a few moments so that I can possibly get out of this outfit and go for a swim with him. I do not feel like attempting to explain to my parents why my clothes are soaked if I have a perfectly good bathing suit on. "I'll be right back, Jax, I just need to change" I say before splashing back to the shore and hiding behind a rock. I strip off my shirt and jeans to reveal a nice light blue bikini that my mother bought me when we first moved here, saying I would need it and that I was to wear it anytime I went out into the district. I sigh, seeing my mothers foresight, and walk out from behind the rock, depositing my clothes on the beach before wading back into the water.

My skin is pale, not ghostly pale but pale enough for people to tell that I am not from here and this makes my cheeks warm. Hopefully, given time, my skin won't be so pale anymore, at least I hope it won't. I wade back to where Jax stands and smile, digging my toes in like he told me to steady myself. This water feels different from pool water, like something is depositing itself in my pores but I don't mind it, it's a nice change. I wonder if Thomas would have liked it here. My dark mood from earlier seems to have vanished like mist in the sun as I stand there with Jax, waiting for him to say something.

Can I be any more of a foolish, babbling idiot? Honestly, why isnt' she running away already, laughing at me like in the past? Granted there was only a handful, or less, but why does she grant me this small wish by staying and listening to me? Only, she does laugh at me. At my stupid comment and my trying to reconcile my own words that I deemed inappropriate in her presence. I keep shaking my head in responce. It didn't mean to come out that way, and maybe she didn't take it that way until I said it. Just keep your mouth shut, idiot.

I pull the corners of my lips downward, almost in a saddened fashion while giving her two quick, nods in responce. She looks down to our joined hands that I've refused to let go. If she wanted to have her hand free of my own, a strangers hand, then she would have by now. She don't. Which leads me to beleive that this is okay for now. A smile displays on my lips, showing a dimple on one cheek that is taking the grin to one side more.

"Well, I'm glad to know that I don't have to teach you to swim, but that is disappointing in itself. I'm a wonderful trainer.... teacher, whatever they call them in two." My mind jumbles with words I should have said. Just keep babbling. She'll get tired of laughing sooner or later. Then just like that, her hand leaves my own. A gentle spray of water replaces her skin and all that happens next is to wipe it off because I miss her touch already. Damn shame. There she goes. A quick reason to get away. To dodge. I shake my head watching her walk out of the water and onto the dry shore. As her back is to me, my hand automatically makes contact with my face, a harsh blow to my skin as the stinging erupts from it. I hold still. My eyes closed. My mouth barely open slightly agape. The water pushing against my legs forcing me to try to fall.

Just kill me now... I sidestep in the water, no longer having my toes dug into the sand. I find a shell though, not being careful and quickly jerk my foot back to a different position. Listen to your own advice, genious. Now... just look. See if she's coming? I turn. My torso turns first followed by my eyes and when I see the beauty that's not only coming back, but dressed in something so breathtaking, I gulp; physically and mentally.

"Hey." Is all I muster up. I'm speechless now. I instantly bite on my lower lip quickly, then look to the water. I have no idea why I can't say anything to her cause she's standing next to me wearing that. A hand goes up to the back of my head and I ruffle the bit of hair that's been drying this entire time. A moment later, I turn to face her.

"Very nice, Ebony of the winds. Seems like you'll be fitting in quite... Nicely here in four. You sure look the part." I compliment her the best way I know how. It's a shame that I've offered to be there with her to swim because you cna only do so much to keep an eye on the person when one is swimming as well. I mentally curse myself. "Ready to try your luck at the water?"

I take a step back. Then another.

Third step back, a wicked idea sets in.

"Ebony..." I start to say, but my body is quickly submerged, disappearing under the surface of the lapping waters. No surfacing occurs until I go with the flow of the water, narrowly missing her legs to wait behind her. Will she try to find me... or reject my prank? Does she eve know its a prank common around here?

I have never been the self-conscious type but Jax is different, he makes me feel something I haven't felt before and I don't know yet if I like it or not. I go to follow him before he seems to look like he's panicking and I watch in shock as his head disappears below the surface and doesn't resurface. Oh crap, what happened? I think, searching around frantically beneath the water. I can't see him and it makes me panic. Did he drown in the waters that he called home or was he simply swimming underwater.

My oddly colored eyes gaze around as I move further into the water, worried for this boys safety as I worried for all peoples safety even when I hardly knew them. A squeak of surprise escapes my lips when he pops up behind me and I turn to glare at him. "Why in Ripreds name would you scare me like that?" I demand, wondering if it was some mean joke he was playing on me.
