Idea(s) for a character's name: Lysol O'Leary

Description of character: 

Lysol has always hated change, and now his entire life was taking a turnaround. He was more than happy to continue living like a peasant. Lysol believed that his life was planned out, and he would soon join Soap in the factory then go on and get married to a fellow peasant. Lysol faced the same thing that Colgate faced, the snide remarks and cruel looks. Unlike Soap, Lysol threw insults right back. Lysol was close to Soap, actually he admired Soap because he was so willing to take charge and allow Lysol go out and have fun. Yet, Soap would prove to Lysol that nothing Lysol believed about  him was false.

When Soap volunteered Lysol was forced to acknowledge that his entire life was taking a turn for the worst. He was left with four younger siblings, and with each passing day their cheeks growing more and more hallow. Starvation was a serious threat in the aftermath of Soap's decision, and Lysol knew it was time he stepped up and took control. Before Soap volunteered Lysol was more than happy to let Colgate do the dirty work, but once the Games began it was clear who should step up, at least in Lysol's eyes.

He was not ready, he was simply too immature, too ignorant of struggle his brother went through to provide for the family. When he took Soap's spot in the soap factory Lysol began to recognized the true kindness in his brother's soul, but that was subdued by a strong distrust and disgust with his brother. For leaving him, for punishing him. It was all Soap's fault that his brothers and sisters were starving, all his fault that Lysol needed to work, everything bad that happened to them.

Once the games began Lysol cheered for Soap just like the rest of the family, but he tried to replace him like he had already died. He became bossy and overbearing, because in his mind Soap had committed the ultimate betrayal. It was clear to him that Soap had left him to take care of his family by himself. Lysol never hoped his brother would return, not until he realized that only the little girl from 5 was left. When the finale began it was clear who was going to win, and Soap's return was a welcomed gift. Lysol broke down when he realized that the games were over, that his traitor brother was coming back. Lysol could never trust his brother again; he could never believe that Soap wanted to be part of the O'Leary family. In his mind Soap had chosen to die over his family.

Thread/plot ideas:

Obviously there would be the whole rebuilding trust idea. I also think that Lysol would be a very immature sixteen year old, and not able to handle the fact that his entire life was changing. He was more than happy to continue just getting by, so the changes that Soap's victory bring would not be welcomed by Lysol. So basically, very slow trust rebuilding, and kind of against anything that Soap does. Lysol can either become Soap's friend or biggest competitor.

Description of character:

He should have died. I thought that he was going to die in that arena. I hoped and prayed, against all the other's wishes, for a tribute to murder him. Quickly and unpainfully, yes, but dead nonetheless. I never liked Colgate much, nor my other children. But they don't know that, because it would break the little spirit they had left. Who wants a mother that hates them? My mother never liked me, and she wasn't very good at hiding it. I'm good at hiding things, though. Sometimes, I wish all of my children could just be reaped for the Games, and I'd sit back with no children asking meaningless questions and people would feel pity for me. But sometimes, my children are my life. They're my favorite things ever. Those times are rare

Description of character: I think this is a finish thing yay

The second youngest of five boys, o'ften o'verlooked by everything that wasn't family, Rembrandt never said a word until age five, and at age six he began hunting along with the o'ther O'learies. Being raised in poverty back then felt different, the ways of making money were the same as what they ate for dinner, so empty stomachs rarely rose an issue. Forests as thick as his brows grew alongside him and his brothers, but working was considered play time so they were happy. By the time Rem had reached the age of 13, his mother placed upon him the nickname before he began to hunt independently. He and his brothers still remained close, even as Rembrandt began to soak in the confidence of his own. Not having to depend on someone else soothed his mind, being able to be by himself after being surrounded by so many took place of any placebo his mother gave him, as they couldn't afford the authentic medicine. O'ften he barely made it out of the shrubs and trees by the strands of hair, that his mother trimmed short, due to being a laughing nuisance to rival hunters, but he failed to care.

O'ften he shot around carelessly with his make shift crossbow, only his eldest brother had received a real hunting weapon by this age, since he either shot an animal or gave somebody a trivial cut. Besides, his brothers and him had different hunting times, so accidentally sticking another person would barely be a bother to him. Every now and again, he stuck around to assist with the messes he caused, either from his own guilt or his mother's pressuring. Sometimes he met people he would later talk to again, like the man he shot in the leg, who traded an o'fficial hunting weapon for a deer-like mutt. O'nce he shot a lady in the arm, she called him a dipshit to an extent, and it was true love, obviously, for him. On the o'therhand, she refused to feel the same, especially with a wooden arrow lodged in her forearm rather Cupid's.

Somewhere along the lines, she gave him a chance - mostly from him babbling and begging like a tiresome child. After having to spend an entire first date with both Rembrandt and his parents, who refused to be withheld from the event, each piece of their relationship hadn't fit exactly, but it worked well enough to draw each o'ther together. As the live land territory around them was taken down piece by piece, the two of them fell together like children with their hands fitting awkwardly in one another. In the new clearings that o'pened up day by day, they chattered on about their wedding day, and how fat and happy their children would be as she coiffed Rem's long hair. The eventual wedding day past just as awkwardly unplanned and perfect as they hoped, and their first son was born while half the jungle lived on. Then a brother, and a sister, and another brother, and a second sister, and a third brother, in which by this time Rem was 39 and his eldest brother had died somewhere in the forest.

Like karma, the forest started dying away even more, and Colgate counted the amount of food his parents caught for the capitol, and the dwindling correlation. Marvis seemed to get his mother's fighting spirit, although both her and Rem's began to be weighed down by little pay they got, while the forest died down like optimism. Soon, the forest was exiled as factories were built on its grounds, but even with its promise of a pay, Promise got closer to starving and Scope still fought nearly daily. The names floating around the air started to count the times Rembrandt the verge of tears pulling at his eyes, but were never spilled with the promise of one of the children noticing. Pangs of failure toyed in his gut as he watched Colgate drop out of school to provide what Rem couldn't, the promise he made of his children being o'verfed and joyful not being lived up to by any degree.

A chance of some type of forged happiness lingered in the air of their household, but that seemed to follow Colgate on his way out. Barely minutes after the moment he volunteered marked the first time the children saw him cry, at age 48, and also when he knew there was almost no way to live up to his promise. Everything weighed on his shoulders like an avalanche he set off, stressed question pressed on his mind on a minute timer and working became hell. O'ften he floated around the "maybe if I ..."s, but they always routed him back to his origin even more frustrated with the everything surrounding him.

By this time, his face was polluted by hairs like the forestry lingering in his mind, the thickets filled with static excitement sitting as a nostalgic plague. Except by this time Colgate was on his way home, and Rem sat in shaking disbelief still, at age 48, with permanent awkward gracelessness. The anxiety riddling between his bones stayed nagging at his conscience as a reminder not to be delighted his son killed five people to live, but not having to live past one of his children felt like medicine. The pay off seemed to outweigh the nine days of agonizing hell his son forced himself into, with the sense of ignorance at least, but the fact remains so that they can live peacefully.

Thread/plot ideas: Obviously constant Soap/Rembrandt threads with Rem being like "ma boyyy you did that thing" and Soap can be like "yahyah" and they can be awkward giants together. Then there's the mandatory mama/daddy threads bc come on if that doesn't happen I won't die happy no exceptions. But then fair lady shadows of regret and doubt in Rem's inner soyul because he wasn't able to provide for them and he feels it's his fault Soap nearly died and had to kill like thirty people and the sad thing. I'll make this sound better soon maybe yay
