The early bird...can be annoying as nothing else. (Vy)

Biggest thing about toddlers is that they have no respect for hangovers. A pair of tiny, yet sharp, nails pinch Vy's nose to force departure from her peaceful slumber. Quietly the little one giggles, as if to not wake the others. Usually Brooklyn gives a louder approach to waking her up, but apparently the two year old is conscious to the other ones asleep. How kind of her. Doesn't want to go wake up her new friends, but her mother of course. With a small pout as if Vy was the child, she gives a useless attempt to sleep in. Like the rugrat's going to care. With a moan she scoops her up into a tight hug. As annoying as she can be, she's too damn cute. Get's away with everything.

Guess that's the price Vy pays for getting her desire of Brooklyn falling asleep early. She wakes up extremely early. Just a tad the sun peaks through the horizon, not even enough to begin to warm up the land from that cold night. As much as her head pounds she follows the grasp the tiny hands have on her. No point in doing otherwise, would only cause more ache. "Alright, breakfast little one." For such a petite thing she sure does have an apatite. There's absolutely no desire within Vy to eat, or even look at food for that matter, but responsibilities rises over anything else. Supposedly food and water cures a hangover, so maybe she'll give it a try. Least water sounds perfect, and before anything else she serves that.

Most likely Brooklyn ate a large portion then she did. That was the entire point though. Fruits cutup into toddler bite-sizes makes up their breakfast, and given the circumstances it's perfect. As pathetic as it is she partakes in a small conversation with the youngster. Only way to build up vocabulary, and kids do truly say the darndest things. Despite the giggles that force laughter from herself, drowsiness does not fade in the least. Where's the damn coffee maker? "Let's go on a walk." Might as well try to get some energy out of the kid. She is nice enough to go down for a nap after only a couple of hours of being awake. And right now Vy can only hope for that.

With no one around letting the rugrat run around works out great. Once they stop in a nice meadow filled with flowers. A little on the dirt that trails off into the lake. Anything to have Brooklyn skipping around and playing. Leaving Vy with a time to sit and force her eyes to stay open. Always a bad idea to drink with a baby to take care of the next morning. Way to little sleep, far too many drinks, a horrible combination. Of course Brooklyn makes it to the campsite a few paces ahead, only giving a subtle warning. "Matt!" A decent attempt to get across her knowledge of who's who. The sound of his name not completely right as the t sounds more like an f. It goes completely past Vy's head as she's used to the gibberish talk. The chubby face gives a bright smile to the new company, filled with excitement of a beautiful morning. Even sprinting to give a hug as she does remember meeting Matthew a few times. He even picked her up once. Must mean he's friends with mommy.

To come face to face with the person that gave her that damn truth was the last thing that Vy wanted. And of course Brooklyn has to be here for it all. Happy to see him and completely oblivious to what he did. Giving anything but a tired face is all she has in her though. That small grin of being with her daughter gone as soon as her eyes gazed upon him. "Fancy meeting you here." Giving sarcasm seems like the most appropriate approach. Can't just ignore him, they already had partial eye contact. With no interest in anything she goes over to clean up the mess from breakfast, just wanting to busy herself until rests can be a thing.

In some ways Brooklyn is very much like her mother; Giggles at someone getting hurt, and hardly cries herself if she falls or gets a scrape. Little things like that. Others parts of her personality's extremely different though as she's social and even has a sweet side. Completely unlike Vy's outer core. In most situations Vy's happy to be seeing these traits in her daughter, but currently she despises it. The sight of Brooklyn excited to see Matthew, and apparently even vise-versa as he picks her up for a moment, has a heavy sigh escaping the older blonde. Last person she wanted to run into, and she can only hope he feels the same way. Just to keep it noted she immediately starts off with sarcasm as her good morning.

The little feet are placed back down on the ground, and surprisingly don't go sprinting off again. Just great Brooklyn, really working in her mother's favor. Make friends with the dude that ruined their secret. Usually when sarcasm is returned it's like making nice with Vy. Not this time though, and even if Brooklyn wants to hangout with her new pal, she's walking away. Least a couple of yards to express her lack of interest in facing what happened last night. "Thrilled." She replies in a low voice while passing him. Having someone else around to distract the little one would be great. But she'd rather go an entire day, with her exhaustion and a hyper toddler, then have Matthew be that person helping.

Not wanting to lose the company, Brooklyn's attitude is the complete opposite as she tugs on Matthew's pants to follow them. Despite the lack of strength she holds, this maneuver has always worked. After a few steps she's distracted by a couple of toys she left out yesterday, and off to explore. How kind, now she's even leaving the old ones to talk alone. Really helping out Vy today. And of course the opportunity to question about the secret that was revealed is taken. "Is that what I was going with?" More sarcasm, but her lack of sleep and spiteful mood isn't allowing anything else.

It's not entirely Matthew's fault. Sure he was the jerk to bring it up, but it was still Vy who slipped the truth. To even blame it on the alcohol isn't entirely fair. The two things combined is what caused it all, and her inability to control it. Sort of pointless to even put blame on anything now. It already happened, and nothing's going to change that. There's no more lies or coverups to be used anymore. Another sigh relaxes her chest. "Having a kid at reaping age isn't anything to go around bragging about." Might as well go for the slim chance of an understanding, if there even is one. "And I used to have a title to maintain. Brooklyn doesn't really strength it."

For Matthew to try at encouraging words for the situation is a bit of a shocker. Sure they've been nicer since the whole Jins incident, but this? Even if it's in a slight joking tone while he questions why it even matters, it's sort of the perfect approach to this conversation for Vy. An unexpected one with who she's exchanging it with. He's nearly identical to the friends she used to have, the guys that doubted her old abilities when Brooklyn came about. Guess he's not as similar to them as she thought, because he seems to have a completely different take. For some reason he expresses the lack of need for embarrassment. That she can be a hard ass and a mother. If only he knew how much tougher she used to be.

"Glad you think so." It's slightly sarcastic as a chuckle joins in with her words, but a grin does play on the face that was as cold as ice before. People's opinions have always meant nothing to her, until they discover that one secret. After the first set, that were smart enough to put two and two together, she could never be too cautious. And she never did get a chance to catch any reactions last night. All that mattered was avoiding eye contact and ditching out of there. She already knew Kyanite's view as she's had this secret for a bit now. Tyren's to much of a gentleman to care, and she doesn't know Max well enough. Getting Matthew's take would have to be the worst, and surprisingly it isn't that bad at all. Only thing to worry about now is whether this all stays unmentioned to the rest of the world.

Instead of leaving at that, Matthew sticks around. There's still a little resentment in Vy towards him, but for the most part she's settled it for just another mistake. Maybe in the slightest way they've become friends after everything that happened. The perfect setup is given to her though, and she's unable to resist it. "Yeah because you gave me that damn truth." Sure he meant it's too late because there's no taking back the baby, but she was doing perfectly well with convincing everyone they were sisters. Even though she'd never take back having Brooklyn, as much as she regrets the situation. Hell she'd rather have the entire district know. "Whatever, it already happened." With no desire for an argument she tries to shrug it off.

Matthew's comeback is sly and annoyingly agreeable. Bringing up the fact that he still wasn't the one to completely cause all of this. That it was Vy that admitted to the secret. Exactly what has been bugging her since it all happened. "Touche." She has to give him that. For some odd reason she just couldn't lie. A circumstance she's never faced before. Funny enough that's what he mentions, her being unable to lie after all those drinks. Either way it happened though, and her anger's simply directed at him.

Less and less that blame seems to be disappearing. Maybe it's the lack of energy to hold a grudge right now, or possibly the fact there's just no need for it at all. "Guess so." Did Vy just agree with Matthew? Talk about a first. He's completely right though, and summing it all up to that sounds perfect. No fingers pointed, or bad feelings. Just blame it on the alcohol.

Seems like whenever they reach a chance at become friendly something sets them back. In this circumstance it's the question over who the father is. Sure it's only over general curiosity, but it's the last thing Vy wants to discuss. Hell she'd rather talk about the fact that she's been lying then bring up that topic. Last night she punched Max over accusing Tyren of being the father; becoming even more fueled when he continued with another insult towards his cousin. "Doesn't really matter." Surprisingly she doesn't react as she did then. Matthew's not trying to be rude for some reason, and she can only try to give that respect back.

To be honest she's not certain over who the father is. Any of the possibilities are all jerks, and would make horrible dads. Sure it's most likely the one that shares Brooklyn's beautiful eyes, but that's even worse. As ironic as it is, the little one's best chances are only with her Mother and wicked grandmother. "She's better off without him." Vy gives a more genuine answer for some reason. Speaking of the rugrat, she decides to come stumbling over with some treasure she's discovered. Just a smooth flat rock that caught her eye. Proudly she presents it to her new friend. Noticing by now that mommy's tired and not wanting to play, and by the looks of it Matthew has some energy. "See!" Her little voice speaks out with a giant grin.

Out of all people it's Matthew that's curious over Brooklyn's father. Maybe it's because he's the only one ballsy enough to to bring up anything, just how he gave the truth. And now he's daring enough to stick to the topic. Of course they can't just drop it because Vy's obviously showing her lack of enthusiasm in it. No, it seems like he purposely sticks to the conversations she'd rather avoid. For how ever long Kyanite's known about this she's never even brought it up. Guess opposites really do attract.

As if Matthew actually knows the circumstance, he mentions on how odd it is to have no care about the father. Vy's next comment seems to respond to that perfectly though; it's better for him to simply not be around. In a way it almost sounds as though Matt wouldn't mind a kid and feels he'd do a good job. Well good for him, and lucky Kyanite, but he's clearly not understanding the douche-bags Vy's been with. To even consider what any of their reactions would be is something she'd rather not do. "No." She admits, unsure why she's being so honest. Might as well since the ultimate secret's already out. A little understanding can only help at this point.

The truth arrives in return. As if more shockers couldn't be given. Because that was the last thing that Vy ever expected once again. Just loads of surprises this morning, or lately more like it. So that's why he has such a hatred towards women, and lacks a sensitive bone his body. There wasn't a nurturing figure in his life. More things they have in common, though Vy's mother was around just not a parent in the least. The fact that Matthew's sharing this is all that matters currently. No need to scare him off with comparing them. This is a new step. "Sometimes it's for the best though." She doesn't know his circumstance, but he's also assuming on hers. "I don't know." Just to be cautious she shrugs it off.

The last words Vy would predict comes from Matthew. Apparently if he had a kid, he'd want to know and be in their life. How sweet. Is he trying to convince her in telling Brooklyn's father? If she's even right on who he is. Either way she concentrates on his perspective instead of what he may be hinting. "Just be careful, I said the same thing." After all Vy never thought such a thing could happen to her to. Sort of nice to know Matthew's not a complete hard ass. And just to give an example, Brooklyn's stumbling over.

To her it was only a pretty rock. The shape and texture was different from the rest, and causing high interest just over that. But Matthew expresses there's a use to it, and Brooklyn shakes her head no as an answer. By this age she's pro at understanding most things, including gestures. As soon as the open palm is presented she places the stone in his hand. Continuing to shake her head on whether she knows how to skip a stone. Without hesitation she follows the tall one to the water, watching intently to discover what he was going to do.

A giant smile and giggle is evoked from the precious rock gliding across the water. Wanting nothing more then to do the same, she takes the offered stone with great enthusiasm. Of course her ability to mimic isn't as keen as her comprehension skills. She throws it up and it lands in the water with a plop. A tiny nose squishes in disappointment, though she doesn't take it any further. Instead she takes a moment to search for another stone, and hands it over to Matthew since she's clearly incapable of causing such a throw. Better to watch someone else do it then waste one.

"Please exhaust her." Vy nearly begs from afar, in a joking manner as a chuckle joins with her request. The sooner Brooklyn gets tired, the better. Because even following them to the water is requiring energy she doesn't have.

Hatred can be a strong feeling. After all why would anyone bother with such a statement unless they've truly been effected by that person? Or else they probably wouldn't have a view towards them anyways. And as much as the response should be to not hate your own mother because she left, that's far from how Vy responds. It's another thing they have in common, though the situation's still different. "I hate my mom to." Maybe vocalizing a similarity will shrink their own dislike towards each other. It's at least making Vy rethink her assumption on Matthew. There's a reason why he can act so cold. Parent figures can form a child so greatly. "Damn, I hope Brooklyn doesn't feel that way about me one day." Alright, so a personal fear's going to be more then only an inner thought. Maybe it'll only establish that she does actually have a heart. Either way she doesn't take it back or try to level it out with a rude comment. Just another shrug to move on from this topic.

Though Matthew's claiming he'd be a present father, it's something he should wait for. The saying it's easier said then done is an understatement when it comes to this. Even if Kyanite would have help from him. A baby changes everything, and though it's a lot for the good, it comes with just as many downfalls. But he reassures that he's been careful. It's actually relieving for Vy. She wouldn't want to see Ky go through that, or even Matthew. They're young and have so much to still do. "Good." This time she doesn't give a cold remark like, I wasn't worried. She's glad to hear that they're cautious.

Finally Vy's blessed with someone else to entertain the kid. With plenty of experience, she's fully aware that's the best way to get Brooklyn down for a nap. Playing with herself just doesn't cut it as fast. Plus it's oddly nice to see her interacting with a guy. As much as Vy might seem to be able to fulfill that father role, she sort of sucks at it. And even if it's only for a little it's worth watching. "She understands you." A small chuckle intertwines with her words. "Skipping rocks might be a little ahead of her age though." With a bit of hope he directs Brooklyn's strategy, though it still lands in the water with only a plop. Someone aside from Vy & Kyanite's giving the little one some attention, which is the only thing that really matters.

After quite a few fails Matthew caves with skipping one last final rock of his own before returning back to sitting with Vy. That one small event has completely shifted the original anger that possessed her when her eyes first fell on him this morning. Now there's actually a grin upon her face, and no trace of hostility towards the one that gave her that truth. A small bump is given to her shoulder and he slyly questions if she's off of guys now. Probably due to that kiss she shared with his girlfriend last night. The nudge is returned as if they were actually friends. "As sweet as your girlfriend's lips are, I just don't discriminate." She gives a truthful answer though it's still in a joking manner.

"How was sleeping in the guy's tent last night?" There's an instinct to give a question in return. The answers are expected to be very different though. It was probably awkward and quiet, where as a kiss hardly effected the girls. They may even be closer friends from it. Didn't seem to be that way for the guys though.

Out of all things a compliment comes from Vy's changed expression. Sure she may not smile often, but around Brooklyn it's sort of inevitable. Sometimes she doesn't even realize the smirk. This time she does though, tempted to rid of it when Matthew was walking over. Without anymore need to cover things up, she decides to keep it around. But for him to comment over it? Wasn't to be expected. If he'd even notice after exhausting his own self with attempting to teach Brooklyn to skip rocks. Surprisingly a soft laugh is her reaction, eyes glued upon the small Rugrat that's decided to play in the dirt as if it was sand. Almost certain that's the first nice thing she's ever heard from Matt.

"Shut up." Brown eyes roll but the grin doesn't disappear. Actually her tone even has slight humor in it. The last thing she wants is a compliment, but she doesn't want to discriminate the fact they're actually being friendly for a change. Maybe there's the smallest chance they don't completely despise one another, that they could actually be friends. After all he's Kyanite's boyfriend, and things like this camping trip may be happening more often. Might as well get along.

For a second Vy reconsiders what she said, almost regretting not using her filter. At first she thought Matthew would have no problem with her kissing his girlfriend, but by the end of the night she wasn't sure. Is it wrong of her to mention such a thing? Luckily he doesn't get angry over the comment. In fact he replies by inferring his taste better. Immediately Vy's eyebrows arch inward as a small chuckle is unavoidable. To save himself he tells her not to get any ideas. Like she ever would. Not to be offensive, he's just far from her type. They're too much alike with the anger problems and sarcasm.

"As if I'd ever kiss a blonde." Only feels natural to reply back with a joke. For some reason she's just never been attracted to blonde hair. Yeah, a bit ironic given that's her color, but still. As many guys as she's kissed they've never been blonde. Plus Matthew's far too into the bro category.

The topic in reverse isn't as comical though. Complete opposite as Matthew, of all people, has to hide away his face in his hands. Despite hating this topic more then Vy herself, he gives a small snippet of what happened. Absolutely nothing interesting as they all passed out. "Do girls actually like guy on guy?" To lighten the mood she goes for a joke. "I always thought that was a myth." Smoothly transition from the conversation he'd clearly rather avoid. Treat others how you want to be treated. And she always hopes someone will change a subject that she obviously doesn't like.

Just to make sure they don't stay on that track Matthew makes it about Vy and Brooklyn again. As surprising as it may sound, she's the rare female type that hates having the attention on themselves. It's far easier to concentrate on someone else. Especially in this circumstance as no one's ever asked her these sort of questions. "Never." She answers softly with her eyes still stuck on the little one getting filthy in the dirt. Somehow Brooklyn gave her the smallest purpose where there once was none. "Somethings were just meant to happen." Possibly even including revealing that secret last night.
