I've been tired of this thinking
so I've drowned it out with drinking
Tastes like a bitter pill but I'll just wash it down
With the taste of something sweet that some doctor gave me now
And this is a madness

It's the harmonic morning that has Alex waking up at this early hour. His hands wake first, stretching out over what he has hold of. The collected bundle in front of him that stays desperately within close contact; a woman. His eyes don't need to open, because this is all frequent to him. She comes round and she stays until the late hours on purpose so she has a reason to stay; 'I can't walk home at this hour!' She would always say with a completely guilty face. So instead they turn the heating down and rely on each other for that heat. Just confined to the single bed, but it is actually quite spacious. it is almost a double, really. It can fit the pair of them.
He is against the wall though, and she is in front of him, facing outward towards the room. He can feel the warmth that has built over the night gathering all around him, the sunlight beaming through the window in the center of the wall to the left. He reaches over, the niceness of the room temperature hitting his bare chest a slight. With only the slightest lean, he reaches the lamp and switches it off. They sleep with it on, so that they can see each other. It was Adina's idea.
It wakes her up, and she stretches a little, for what amount she can do. When she does though, she runs her hand down his arm mid-stretch and slips her palm into his. He smiles at her, and places a subtle kiss upon her shoulder before raising himself out of the bed. She rolls into his space as he leaves. He quickly slips on some sweatpants over the boxers that were already on his body, and he takes from the folded clothing pile by the door a black hooded jacket, with a small white trim for the zip that goes over a black t-shirt beneath, his dog tags that his uncle gave him 'Alexander' being on one, and 'Orca' being on the other. With that, he turns to Adina who's mustering the awareness to speak. "Where you off to?" She says curiously. "I'm just nipping out to the gym. It's only early, so you can get more sleep if you want." He suggests to her. Most women could find reason to suspect something of Alex here. Going to the gym, wanting his girlfriend to stay in bed? The trust is so strong. She doesn't even need to suspect him because she knows for a fact he won't do anything like that. "Alright, break a sweat." She says before burying her head in the pillow quickly. He gives a private grin to himself, looking upon her for a moment. He knows for a fact he will miss her, even for this brief amount of time.

Nobody else is awake... In fact, that's not necessarily true, and Alex finds that out when he goes downstairs. He heads into the kitchen straight away, the dining room just next to it through a small archway with no doors. He goes to pour himself a glass of milk, but looks to the side and sees somebody sitting at a chair, their head buried in arms and their breaths deep. Alex contemplates ignoring them, but his conscious tells him otherwise. He brings himself over. When he gets closer he can see that the person is in a deep slumber, but not snoring at all. "Tyren." Alex states. Suddenly he starts up again and looks up at Alex, the table seen by Alex's keen gaze to have a dampness beneath where his head was. "Alex." He is quick to say, almost exclaiming. "What're you doing?" He asks, taking a drink. Tyren sighs a little, "Oh... I was just..." He sleepily says, almost revealing the reality. "Don't matter, I should head back up to bed..." Alex nods once at him. Tyren gets up and heads on up to bed, and Alex's curiosity is peaked.

The house seems empty at this time in the morning. Alex wasn't planning on staying put for long, though. This has always been the routine. Get up; get moving. He slips his trainers on and doesn't feel the need for a jacket, so he opens the door and slips the keys in his pocket. The rest of his gear is at the training center anyway.

He takes the long way, and walks reasonably slow. It's soothing to take your time. Plus, there's no point in wearing yourself out before you get there. His hand opens the main door and he checks himself in as usual. A simply Hey, and even a Thanks, from the person in the small office with a panel to the main room as he signs his name on the sheet. Not everybody does it, but sometimes it can get you incentives. The locker room isn't far so when he gets in he notices the lack of early birds. Not many people come down this early anyway. He takes from his tall locker, that are about as tall as he is, but thin and narrow to fit more in, a wooden pole. It's a silvery colour though, and very clearly been sanded down professionally. He must have bought it, or borrowed it. It's a long staff-like weapon but it has the ends that can fit tips on if you wanted to add them. They'd have to be wrapped on and screwed in though.

He takes straight to the training hall. "Damn peacekeepers." He hears just as he's walking in. He knows exactly where he's going now, it seems. She had only muttered it, and she only looks around 12. That's before he sees her skills. She looks capable. He sees how she dresses. When he looks, it is most definitely not in the way that he would look at a woman his age. It's like looking at a little sister. He sees how she conducts herself. She's trained, or has a reason to be that good. A little polite smile comes onto his face as he approaches. She's young, afterall. He doesn't want to come across as intimidating - like he would be to any career. He does look it though, or some people at least think that. She has her back turned. Whether she can hear his footsteps that are casual, he doesn't notice. She could easily, though. She takes another swipe as she did earlier, but instead, Alex just keeps his staff in the way as she turns around. He blocks it, as though he'd been there for the whole time but she perhaps didn't notice. In reality, he'd just arrived and this was his way of introducing himself. "Hey." He greets. His voice is quite average, maybe even a little lighter than most. It's unexpected because he's quite a domineering personality. "That's quite a skillset you have there. How long have you been training?" He asks her, him being the eighteen year old and her being, what he assumes, the twelve. Each end of the reaping age.

When he speaks, he is met with only a blank face and if there were words, they would be as plain as day it seems. Alex's face is the same to the extent that she remains so silent. He's wary, but when she spins to strike his arm, symbolically or not, he just legs it happen, and doesn't even give it a shrug. The way she is conducting herself suggests that she older than Alex had first thought. He looks across her face, "What gives you the right to interfere? I am not looking to partner right now." He narrows his eyes a little, figuring her out. The small scar upon her forehead calls out for attention and he gives it what it wants. Scars, something he can relate to. He has none. At least no major ones. Major would be like his brother Tyren's. Scars, to him, show experience. She's clearly not somebody that he should consider messing with; not due to the likely danger but because she's probably been through quite an ordeal in order to even get a scar like that, in a place like that. Any real career has scars at some point. Alex's just heal.

"I can do what I want." He says with that lighter voice than his, but still clearly that of an eighteen year old male. "That's a pretty toy you've got there." He mentions. "Where'd you get it?"

A smile, a grin. Something warming or something grim. Alex notices the small change in her tone. Was it something he did? He isn't sure. He isn't the most perceptive person. He's usually the more brutal, arrogant and ruthless of the pair; him and Tyren that is. "Can you? Don't let age fool you." Alex nods. "I wouldn't." The two words that deny his naivety to think that she would be weaker than him. The truth is though that Alex doesn't use the spear or staff that often. Him and Tyren took to the same traditions and same weapons in order to make training easier. Tyren and he practiced with the bow and arrow every time. If the archery range was full, they'd take to these wooden staves and have a spar. That's all there is to training; sparring. Apparently, that is. To Alex, there's so much more. Learning to fight is like learning to drive. Except when you learn to drive, you stick to the rules. Fighting is open, free. People usually forget that you have legs, another arm perhaps. Every part of your body is a weapon, the staff in his hand right now is just an extension of that.

Her next words dig a little deeper. "It's not a toy. You should know that. You have one as well, but yours is fancy. Do you even practice with it or are you just using it to intimidate little girls?" I do know that... He tells himself. And there's no difference between yours and mine. He narrows his eyes on her. "Why don't you find out?" He teases, a small grin on his face. He's not acting purposefully intimidating, but naturally he's in sports gear, got a more expensive weapon and is much older clearly. And, there's the fact he is a male. Any genius can figure that most, if not all men are naturally better at being stronger - he's one of the people that have taken to that.

"What about your little toy? Mommy get it for you? It looks expensive." His little toy... Alex shakes his head at her, a grin on his face still. "No, not quite. I stole it from the Peacekeeper Academy. I hope you can keep secrets."

"Stole it? You're one of them aren't you? A peacekeeper or trying to be one. They won't allow anyone into their facitility unless you are part of their ranks. You and the lot of them..." Alex tilts his head a little, giving a curious look that is suggestive to his nature. Assumptions, assumptions. It all adds up though, and it is completely truthful; he is a peacekeeper. Not only is he training to be one, he's actually finally been promoted from the poor rank of recruit and into the certain rank of private. It means he's actually in the military now. Though, he knows he won't be going any further into peacekeeper than where he is now. He and his girlfriend plan on better things, purer things than turning celibate and committing atrocities for the Captiol. "Go on then. Challenge me, if you must. Isn't that why your here? Not enough that you take him, but you think I'm part of it, too, right? I got news for you. I had nothing to do with it." His curious look sustains. He doesn't understand a word that the girl is saying, but still he proceeds to roll his shoulders preparing. "Sure, I'm a private in the military. Doesn't mean I know what the fuck you're talking about..." He tells her, not caring for his perhaps foul mouth that slips the swearing out all of the time.

"If you want to hit me again, go ahead. I just wanted to say hello, I haven't been around recently and I like to get to know most of the people here. I'm Alexander. Alex, Ally, Al, for short." He holds out his hand for her to take.

The moment she even thinks about it, he'll swipe at her hand jokingly with his staff, a grin on his face.

Or not, depends on what she does.
