Tyren Orca - District Two - Eighteen

I've loathed every moment that I've been back at this place. My friends are good, but the commanders, officers and the rest of it just get straight onto my nerves. I just can't stand their fake authority, and their ridiculous routine. Do I call them all sir? Do I only call the women ma'am? I don't know anymore.

My dreams have me sleeping out of my covers, sweat dripping lazily over my forehead and scarred back. Thankfully, I'm still covered in all technicality. I have my pants on still, that's a plus. Alex is still above me, probably sleeping but I can't tell because my eyes are only just opening, groggy with the sleepiness, dull with a blindness.

You know what? I don't even know what time it is. I don't even care, either. I pull my wrist clumsily to my face, letting it rest there for a moment before I open my eyes more to look straight at the watch on it. I'm going to call it my Ky-watch, since she got it for me. I don't know why, I'm tired.

Alex's legs appear above me, or at least on the edge of his bed. He leaps down quickly. He's got pants on, thankfully. He has something in his hand though, and only when I recheck my watch, since I usually look at it and forget the time straight away, I realize why he's handing me what he has. A small pill. Modafinil, a wake-up drug. I slip it in my mouth and he's already handing me a bottle of water. He's being awfully nice, but I'm not complaining. I get up and give him a nod. "What the hell do they want this early?"

"Good question." I mutter. Alex takes a stretch whilst I delve into my unopened kit bag, pulling out whatever I'm planning on wearing. It would help if they specified, but they didn't, or I didn't hear them at least. I'll wear the practical one just in case. It's a slim fit t-shirt than leaves no room for leisure, and some black combat trousers with a couple of pockets running down the sides. They're quite baggy but tied up at the bottom so that you don't trip when you run. Alex does the same and we both have that 'Orca' name on our back. Thankfully, we're distinguishable from each other from facial features. Not that they'll leave us with names if I stay here long enough. I'll just be called 'dog' or 'mutt', something stupidly absurd like that.

"Get up, Vy. You might even get a chance to run around butt naked this time."

"Because it's not every day we get to see her ass." Alex jokes, now in his kit just as I am. He's say next to me on the edge of my bed as I try to tie my laces in. Neither of us have shaved our stubbles off, and I'm really not planning to, nobody should mind.

Oh, and I don't think Matthew's seen my new tattoo yet... I grin to myself. "Show him." Alex suggests, giving me a nudge. I give him a look saying 'now isn't the best time', but I think I want to do it anyway. "Matt, check this out." With his attention, I show him my right arm. A sleeve tattoo that I had done over the weekend right after that football match. "Alex dared me. Said if we won our game I had to get it done." It's really good looking if anyone was to ask me. It has 'O R C A' in a scroll whilst the rest is symbolisms of various kinds, some religious and some not. One of them is a clock, showing how we all have our time... etc. It also has mine and Alex's birth times on it, showing how he's the older one.

I hear a knock at the door and Alex is straight up as though he was expecting it. He just goes out of the door, and I think he's gone. "Adina..." I roll my eyes playfully at Matthew and maybe Vy if she's up for the side information. "Let's get moving then."
