Rather than ending up with a death by shallow cut or something similarly boring, I would much prefer to have my tribute's death in the hands of his killer (provided that a. the killer performs the kill, whether directly or indirectly, and b. the kill is not overly disrespectful to my tribute) in order for the "killing blow" to be more varied and/or exciting than something like a shallow cut on the arm.
My tribute's killer may involve me in the planning of my tribute's death if he/she desires, but is not wholly obligated to do so, provided that the "killing blow" is not particularly objectionable.
Operation: Badass Death seeks to give tributes a final wound that does them justice, and seeks to give killers a means to express their character (i.e. gentle, merciful death vs. brutal) and also gives killers an opportunity to finish off their victims in a way that isn't necessarily in line with the dice.
