As I was shoved into the Justice Building I spotted a little stuffed animal laying on the floor. Probably a little girls toy, who felt the need to escape the never ending tea parties. I scoop it up, and study it with curious eyes as I wait for my inexistent visitors so stroll through the door. Its a strange creature, it's little beady eyes stare out through the world from a different perspective as its single horn curves up to reach the sky. What ever the animal, it seems to be the type of creature that was once powerful and was now reduced to being a little girl's plaything. When the Peacekeepers begin to herd me to the train, I close my palm around it, ensuring that it travels to me to the Capitol. Because I can relate to this strange creature, with its fake smile and strange horn.
Inside the train, with the extravagant chandeliers, and dark mahogany tables, I head towards the end of the train. There I can watch my old life disappear into the sunset, and approach the new life on a whirling machine full of horsepower. I pull my legs up and think of my family, my parents and my brother. How could they have known I was alive, how could they know I was dead. Obviously they still felt I was alive somehow, as my name was still in the reaping pool. But why wouldn't they visit?
I don't think of my fellow occupants of this train. The victor who would be able to save me and the tribute who was probably planning to kill me. I try to forget them, just focus on strategizing, and figuring out how to save myself, and still kill Future. But when the door opens behind me, it is obvious that at least one of them has remember me, and wants to talk.
