ORCA CHILDREN
Lunch packed. Pocket money given. Hair ruffled and backs straight. "You kids have fun, make some friends, okay?" Cecilia says, their mother. The two lads stand there smiling by the door of her car, Tyren's dimples ablaze and Alex's unfolded eyes round and gleeful. It's their first day at school. "Thanks mum!" Tyren says, as the pair wave a little. "If you get into trouble, get Max." She starts to wind up the window. "Come on, let's go Al." Tyren walks merrily forward, Alex following behind. "Do you know anybody here?" Alex asks as they walk to the door on their own. "No, just Mark and Max." Alex nods a little.
So far so good, nothing major happening. Time for their first class, though.
"Oh look, it's the twins. Margery, come see." The pair hear from ahead as they walk past the receptionist's desk. "Why don't they look identical?" She says. Apparently it's rare for twins to look identical around here. Tyren just keeps walking, but Alex looks a little bewildered as he eyes them, eying him back. After a moment he just keeps going, catching up to Tyren with a little run.
"Morning class. We're going to get to know each other first, then we'll move onto Maths in about an hour." Maths, something Alex and Tyren really liked. Mark is in this class somewhere, but they'll probably meet up with him later. There's a lot of kids here, around thirty. Every table has space for six, and Alex and Tyren have walked in a little late it seems so there's only two seats available. Thankfully, they are next to each other. Opposite there's two strangers, and Mark is to their left and another kid next to him, but he's also a stranger.
"I don't like it..." Tyren says, since there's a lot of people. "You'll be okay, Ty. Just relax." Alex always has a good word to say when there's a problem; he's always been like this since he first learned words themselves. He's naturally a good reassurer.
