GET A CLUE
OR YOU COULD BE NEXT
THE PLOT
You are walking home. The evening feels good against your skin, and the summer air is once again flavored with salt all throughout District Four. Everything is lovely, actually, not a single flaw with your life in this moment, You climb the steps of your home to find an envelope taped to the front door, stamped with the initials "LB". You do not know anyone with these initials, if you recall correctly, so you open it in confusion, eager to read the contents, which end up saying these words exactly:
"To whom it may concern:
Congratulations! You have been cordially invited to the Black mansion for a formal ball. Only the most important figures in District Four will be attending, which, of course, is why you have been one of the select few chosen to attend! We look forward to seeing you there."
Then below that are the same initials as the ones on the stamp, and the time and date of the event. This time you know whose initials they are, though. This time your brain has registered that Lancelot Black, perhaps the most wealthy, powerful man in the District has invited you to his mansion. You immediately decide to go.
The day fast approaches, and eventually you find yourself on a beautifully crafted luxury boat with a handful of others, some the same age as you, most older. After about thirty minutes of water travel, you are finally on the shore of a small island, a luxurious, glamorous mansion taking up almost the entire thing. It looks like a castle from your dreams as a child, and you grow even more excited to explore it.
The party is lovely, filled with tasteful music and seemingly tasteful people, all wearing their best clothes, and the night is just like a fairy tale. But all great things must come to an end, and eventually people begin filing out, each going on about how wonderful the experience was. You turn to do the same, admittedly a bit disappointed to leave, when you hear a voice shouting over the crowd. "If you received your invitation sometime within the last week, please stay behind, as there will be... additional festivities!" A smile lights up your face, and you walk to the center of the ballroom, where several other young boys and girls are standing, each with the same expressions of mixed excitement and confusion. After a few minutes, you see him, and you realize it is the first time of the entire night. Lancelot Black is standing on the balcony, graying hair somehow adding to his attraction, rather than taking away from it.
"It seems the boats have all departed except one... so I suppose I should begin?" You nod along with the others, watching him like a hawk. "I will not live forever, and as I never had any children of my own, I am left with the issue of deciding where exactly my wealth will go." A small feeling begins to brew in the pit of your stomach. Oh, the things you could do with such riches. "As you may guess by now, I have decided that the recipient will be someone in this room." There is a collective sound of gasping, some fanning themselves in excitement. "There is, however, a catch." The room goes silent once more, everyone waiting to hear. "In order to be considered, you must live here with me. On this island. For an entire year, at the end of which I'll be deciding which of you gets my estate. Everything, the island, the house, the money, the business, and all you have to do is keep me company." No one speaks at first, and then they all begin murmuring to one another. "Why us?" Someone asks, and the man smiles. "You could all use the money, could you not?"
Eventually, like the others, you have made a choice.
You are going to give it a try.

THE CHARACTERS
Mateus Marshall, eighteen:
Accurately nicknamed "Colonel Matt" due to his seemingly high status in a Peacekeeper Training Academy, Mateus is widely known for his devotion to the force, and his passion for justice. The only issue is that where he has the ability to apply the rules, he isn't able to sit in a room and recite them at will. Because of this, he has failed his boards and now owes a very stiff fee in order to retake them. A few other things he is known for are his quick temper, and his arrogance and showmanship. He always has to be the best, always has to be on top, and anytime someone threatens his position as first in the class, well, things get ugly. This is why he has kept his failure a secret. No one can know. Ever.
(Played by Anzie.)
Nirvanna Maeve Scar, eighteen:
Once picked on for her every flaw, Nirvanna changed both her name and her attitude at a young age, changing herself from an overly emotional push-over to a driven woman, keen on keeping her career as an actress serious and her name in flashing lights. She is not afraid to do what is necessary to get what she wants, and is not below... er, entertaining playwrites and casting board members to nab a role she has her eye on.
(Played by Dars.)
Blanche Whitman, seventeen:
Blanche had just landed a job as the mansion's maid not too long before the the invitations were sent out. She was surprised to see that she was invited since her personal opinions of Mr. Black were not so good. She is incredibly envious of some of the others, who can more than afford to live without hard work while she has been forced to follow in her mother's footsteps as the help in order to survive. With the money in her own hands, she wouldn't ever have to work again. She would finally be at the same social status she knows she was meant for.
(Played by Rave.)
Hunter Green, sixteen:
A schemer, a plotter, a complete thug. Hunter is always looking to make an extra dollar however he can, and doesn't care who he hurts to get it. He is the type of child a parent can sense is a bad influence, the type of kid no one wants their own child going anywhere near. What they don't know, or seem to care to learn, is that Hunter is struggling to care for his younger sister and their sickly mother. He doesn't care about anyone except them, and would do anything, like maybe moving into a stranger's mansion, to ensure their well being.
(Played by Mylee.)
Priscilla Sheppard, eighteen:
Chances are Priscilla has severe neck cramps from turning her nose up to people so often. She only surrounds herself with the best company; accomplished careers, wealthy people, or powerful people are the only ones of any use to her. As well as this, she only dresses herself in the most expensive clothing available to her, which has given her the nickname "Peacock" by everyone else in the mansion. She finds herself especially disliking Blanche and Rusty, both of whom share a dislike for her as well, and also finds a heated rivalry with Carolina. She can more than survive with the money her parents give to her, but she thirsts for more.
(Played by Nyte.)
Orvin Pettigrew, seventeen:
Osiris is a bit odd in social situations, completely awkward in even the smallest occasions that involve speaking. He is scatter-brained, and would forget his own head if it wasn't attached to him, but he is mostly good-natured, and incredibly smart, top of his class, in fact. What he lacks in social ability, he makes up for in intellect. The thing is, he is a lot of talent trapped in a lowly District resident. If he had enough money, perhaps he could buy his own freedom and use his talents where they would truly be appreciated: The Capitol.
(Played by Onyx)
Carolina Peach, seventeen:
On the surface, Carolina seems to be a charming, albeit slightly air-headed young lady. She claims the Capitol allowed her father and the rest of his family to move from District Ten to District Four when she was about six, but it's up to you if you believe it or not. She plays the innocent part, always claiming to be the mediator but secretly enjoying stirring up drama and watching people make fools of themselves. Carolina is nothing more than a manipulative girl with a plastic smile that doesn't want to live off of her Daddy's estate for the rest of her life.
(Played by Tristen.)
Alphonse Brunt, eighteen:
In simple terms, Alphonse is a monster. He is a con-artist, recreating paintings and forging signatures, then selling them as if they were the real thing, creating fake businesses to suck a few dim residents dry of money, he and Hunter are like two peas in a pod. He lies like he breathes, constantly, and never even feels bad about it. If he were able to pull off a stunt like this, get this much money, he would be set for the rest of his life.
(Damen)
Rossitan Mantigo, seventeen:
Known to be... odd, Rose believes with every fiber of her being that she has abilities most humans do not. Constantly offering to read a person's palm, or warn them of some grave danger that is approaching, she is written off as a girl who is a fish short of an aquarium. She has a pet spider, to whom she is very much attached to, and almost always has him in tow with her. She would do anything for a good bit of money, perhaps even curse anyone that gets in her way.
(Played by Aza)
Brently Gray, seventeen:
Once, Brently was Mateus's biggest competition in the Peacekeeper Training Program, and just when it seemed he was going to over take him, he was dropped from the program. Why? The official reason was that he had been caught on camera buying drugs more than once, but he believes Mateus is the only reason he was punished at all, and he now holds a very large grudge against him. With the money, he could finally pay off the fines placed against him and assume his position in the program.
(Played by Zoe.)
Lavera Cho, sixteen:
Lavera has dreamed of opening her own landscape business since she could remember, but her only problem is that she has zero experience, and zero funding. She still hopes for the best, and now that she has an actual chance, the best may just happen, but everyone else in her family constantly tries to talk her out of her dreams, begging her to give in and do what the rest of them did, learn to love it. But Lavera has to follow her heart, and she hates being wrong.
(Played by Shrimp.)
Rusty Squires, seventeen:
His father was the long-time handy man of Mr.Black's mansion until he passed away and Rusty took his place. He resents the job, in all honesty, but it was the only thing he had left after his father died, so he gritted his teeth and accepted it. Eventually, he found himself working full-time, which was never something he wanted. The only problem was that, until he got enough money, he was stuck.
(Played by Kire.)
Ivan Azulla, eighteen:
Being part of the Azulla family has always had it's perks: better training, better homes, better clothing, better lifestyles in general. Ivan knows he was invited because his entire life has been about trying to establish himself without using the power his last name brings. He is an independent soul, who has admittedly done some questionable work in the past, such as working with Alphonse to sell counterfeit paintings, and has even stolen weapons from his family's Training Center to trade for a fair price. With this money, however, his name would remain clear. There would never be any chance of him getting caught doing something that his heart truly wasn't ever in, anyway. With this money, he'll be set for life.
(Played by Pika.)

This plot is based on the board game "Clue"/"Cluedo" and each character is based off of one from the games. I changed some of the names for your benefit, but I think they should all still be close enough that you can tell who they are, right? SOME CHARACTERS WILL DIE. I'll determine which ones by assigning each character a number then rolling the site's dice to determine who dies. Only I will know who the killer is, and that person will also be chosen at random, so there is no saying I gave the killer to someone specific on purpose. This plot is NOT first come, first serve. You will have to apply using the code below, and then I will choose!^^
