Trap1 |trap|
verb (traps, trapping, trapped) [ with obj. ]
catch (an animal) in a trap.
• prevent (someone) from escaping from a place: Nocturne Vargas is trapped by... well, to be honest, he isn't entirely sure yet.
• have (something, typically a part of the body) held tightly by something so that it cannot move or be freed: What he does know is that his ankle seems to be trapped in some kind of snare that has literally turned his world upside down and suspended him in midair. It's quite impressive, honestly.
• induce (someone), by means of trickery or deception, to do something they would not otherwise want to do: Now all he can think about is how he hopes to trap the person responsible into teaching him their ways.
It's not as if he's strung all the way up to the ceiling or anything, however, his face is definitely hovering a few inches off the ground while his feet are up where his head used to be. One foot is at least. The other foot is sort of kicking around awkwardly, uncertain as to what to do with itself while the other is all tied up. On a normal day, he might be able to appreciate the layered metaphors for his current half-freedom, but instead all he can say is: "This is awesome!" The Gamemakers would probably disagree, but seem to not yet have noticed that Nocturne is not simply some practice dummy strung up by a rope. Considering how he's been aimlessly wasting much of his training time away, he can't judge them too harshly for confusing him for something meant solely for target practice. Either way, he's far more content than anyone in his position should be.
