Michael Orca Father to Max - District Two - Thirty Seven something something... Odair My life is measured by the souls I can carry, the weight I can lift and the knives that I used to balance on my fingers. I was a child of danger. I wanted the games to be a reality to me. Naiviety ruled my head. Youth ruled my heart. Me and my future wife would train day in day out. Neither of us knew that we would never have gotten chosen, and that we'd never successfully volunteer. It was a difficulty to finally accept it, but we were forced to. Appearance Michael perhaps could be labelled as quite a handsome man despite his age. He's thirty-seven, and usually people start to get more of a deteriorating look at this point. He is different it seems. Not that he's perfectly youthful in his appearance, but he has nice skin, few wrinkles and a niceness to his eyes that are only seen in the young. He is quite a broad shouldered, masculine looking man who has clearly had a past of work and labour. His jaw is square like his chin, both of which hold his light beard which is exactly that; light in colour. He has a tender brownness that can be mistaken for a subtle blonde, but only in the nicest of suns. His voice is quite authoritative, but soothing perhaps to the calmness inside of him. His dress sense is typically sports-like. He used to be a career, but that was his adolescence. Now, he considers himself both a worker and an athlete. He trains at the gym still, he doesn't let anything give him the excuse to retreat from his lifestyle, not even his age. His age is something he has liked to run from, as he's still sporting a nice hairstyle. It's predominantly a stylish, light mohawk but with typically subtle sides to which derive from the assumed youthful nature of a normal mohawk. He has a masculine demeanor to his hairstyle. Personality His personality has been sculpted to endure the hardest of hits. He's a reasonably experience man in terms of life. He's older than most of the people he typically talks to on a day to day basis - this has disadvantages of being surrounded by perhaps more naive people, less knowledged on the more difficult parts of life. Advantages however are that the people he is around can perhaps tap into that wisdom that he can sometimes emit. He is also quite an optimistic person who cannot abide pessimism in the slightest. This is because of his past experiences in negative environments. He's also an athletic person and this can spur people to better themselves; something to which his positivity has mostly affected, himself and his body. Michael is the father to quite an older child, too. His son, Max Orca, is twenty years of age and is prominently the source of all of Michael's influence right now. Max has taught Michael a lot about everything, because the pair of them have got on like a house on fire. Max is like a younger version of Michael, but with a bit more class and style. Max is fully understanding that having quite a young father, in comparison to other twenty year olds, is actually quite a good thing. This gives Michael quite a big ego boost, and makes their bond something special to him. He'd defend it with all his might, which is a lot; mentally and physically. Michael's humour is probably one of his less strong points. He's not the best joker. He likes to be there for people, and he takes that seriously as anything; which is why joking isn't his priority. His humour is only stale because of the lack of intelligence he can sometimes have. Perhaps sometimes he doesn't understand a joke, or something of the sort. Because of this, he likes to surround himself in the company of people who are equally lacking in intelligence, such as workmates or gym buddies. History My name is Michael Orca. The name Orca derives from the traditionally descending family, to which has basically always stayed with us, male or female. It is quite an arrogant position if you were to ask me; to claim the family name over a partner without question or discussion. It is something I and my current spouse discussed heavily, and she - in the end - decided it would better please my brother if I just kept the name and carried on with things. That's generally my attitude. Get things done, keep getting them done, don't stop getting them done due to silly discrepancies. Me and my wife met when I was only fourteen, she being the same age as me. We were quite quickly taken by each other, I think. We always talked and I always enjoyed her company more than others simply because she was the only person to ever touch my lips the way she would. Silencing me with a finger when I would say too much. We were young, but everybody is a grown up after twelve. Career couples are very common, but very illogical. I don't understand why it was something I wanted to do, and was willing to do - but I did it regardless. It is a subtle immaturity, I think. It took me by surprise when we were both seventeen and she approached me with the words 'You're going to be a dad!' To which I could only shed a pride-filled tear at with my arms wrapped protectively around her. I don't think I've let go since. Many months later, my son Max was born. My wife and I have always joked about how similar he looks to me. We have similar hair, and eyes... and cheeks... chin? Everything. I think the only thing is that my jaw is lower, or something like that. He has more folded eyes whilst mine are a little deeper. Other than that, he was then and is now, every bit my equal. As we brought him up, as difficult as it was due to our youth, we learned so much about life; my wife and I that is. We had helped from my family, which was large and especially fond of proving that money can make things much easier. We are quite a rich family, so the children that followed, who would become my nephews and nieces, were looked after a lot. Max though, is the oldest. Tara followed happily by five years. She's fifteen now, and Max is twenty. Now, we're living as a whole family. My brother and I have fought for this large house to hold our families, both of them. He, his wife and their three children. Me, my wife and my two children. There's also a couple of my sister's children here, but she hasn't come along into this large house herself. There wasn't enough room, so sacrifices were to be made. She was quite content leaving us behind, which I accept and care little for. We're a happy family, for now. |
