I walked all day along the shore, I was made for loving you
In her dream the sea wrapped around her like a blanket and held her close. Light shattered on the water's surface overhead and the joyful ache in her lungs was telling her she would need to return to the surface soon. But not yet, not yet. Instead she gazed around, finding she was adrift in an expanse of nothing - nothing but blue-green water that extended miles below and miles around. She was the only thing other than water in that expanse and suddenly it felt like her chest was being crushed in.
She knew better than to panic, though, and tried to calm herself. If nothing was around there with her then she was fine. This ocean was just for her, and the thought soothed her. My ocean. Now the ache in her chest was fading and she wondered if it had merely been because of her panic. She felt like she could last forever down here.
Then there was an interruption, like someone had drawn a rope around her torso and was pulling on it. It was yanking her up, closer to the surface of the water and she fought it wildly. My ocean, don't take my ocean! If she broke the surface she would lose all of this, she suddenly knew, but there was no defeating the rope as it pulled her higher and higher. Suddenly her head broke the surface and she gasped air she hadn't thought she needed.
Her eyes flew open to see what had woken her. Instead of a rope around her middle there were hands at her sides, hands that were tickling her. Looking up into the face of her would-be-attacker, she saw Leon. The expression on her face went flat and she went to hit him. He danced away to give May and Jacinda the same treatment. Grumbling to herself, she made sure all her gear was in order. Then she went over to return the favour.
Grabbing Leon from behind she punched him lightly - or at least not hard - in the gut. "This is how I tickle, something you might want to keep in mind." As she spoke her bottom lip cracked and bled drawing a hiss of annoyance at the pain. Pressing her tongue against the spot, she looked at the other two. Once all four of them were ready they set off - in the only direction she knew; towards the Cornucopia.
It didn't take long before the giant golden structure was clearly visible above everything, and she almost breathed a sigh just thinking about the shade the giant horn would provide. Why don't we just stay here? In their last venture they had gone in search of water, but then their sponsors had gifted them with enough water to drink - a blessing that had come with bubbles - in order to turn back. If everyone was as thirsty as they were, then there might be another major fight at the water's source.
She strode on, determined to reach the shade, and didn't care if she got ahead of the others. It was only when she neared the cave that the cornucopia formed that she realized it wasn't just the four of them here. Her spear levelled at the foes lurking in what would soon be their cave, she gave a holler to her allies and pressed forward. The three giant lizards didn't seem all that surprised at her charge, but she hoped she could change that as she struck out.
