Siren Baitwell
My feet will not walk anymore, So I guess you ought to know the truth
Where once three lizards faced them there were now only two. One was dead, laying at the feet of Jacinda after she had dealt it a killing blow. Siren tried to keep her annoyance down, but the fact that Jacinda and May had dealt more damage than she and Leon had was both bothersome and slightly worrying. At least they're on our side... for now. With two more angry lizards left, it was time they all got out of there. There was no way they would scare the mutts off, so it was kill them quick or leave them behind.
She preferred the second option, because standing in front of those claws for another time didn't seem like all that much fun. Battered as she was from yesterday's fight - the whole thing exhausting her - she would rather the fight had never happened. Looking for Leon, she tugged on his sleeve. "We should leave." Her voice was low enough that the other two might not hear her, and she thought of it as another test of their wits. If they ran right after them then they would be fine, but let their injuries tell for themselves. She shot a glance at her two other companions and then turned away from the whole fight. It seemed they wouldn't be claiming the inside of the Cornucopia, at least not for the moment, and it disappointed her. We should have been able to scatter them. It seemed she hadn't counted on the fact that these were mutts, they didn't react like normal animals.
They might be able to sneak in later, once the lizards have skittered off. For right now, though, they had to get patched up. Once she was far enough away she pulled out her medical kit and retrieved a needle and thread, and some bandages. Her left arm was still tender, perhaps being the reason why her attacks hadn't been a sure since the District seven girl had injured it again, but the wound was scabbed over and as much as she wanted to use her supplies to fix it up she had her leg to deal with. Peeling away the remains of her shin guards, she bared the gash in her leg. Hissing, she narrowed her eyes, sat down, and set to work with the needle.
When she was done with her healing she wrapped up the old wound in her arm with the bandages. She felt like a carved up fish, gills flapping weakly as she tried to breathe without her ocean surrounding her. The memory of her dream from last night made her melancholy and she finished patching herself up. As Leon walked over she saw he had some plants in his hand. "Can I use some?" She didn't wait for his response, taking a portion for herself and tearing them into tiny pieces. Crushing them in her palm she smeared them over the other cut in her arm, sighing at the cool relief the juices brought. Turning to Leon, she smiled. "You need some patching up too." She patted the ground beside her, gesturing for him to join her.
"We'll wait for the others here."
