Appearance:
Flyss stands short, a whopping 4'10 label pressed eternally into her book. Her hair used to stretch down her back in flaming red curls, a singular black highlight bouncing around at toward the front, but ever since her 14th birthday, only a mere day after her brothers death, did she cut it all off in trade of a shorter, more spiky look. The style really did give her a fiercer look, though, for the vibrant greyirises that laced her pupil did good to the scarlet mop she beared. If it weren't for the blocky frames that embraced her face, she may have even been seen as vicious. But sadly enough, her family couldn't afford contacts due to the expensive burden that was her training.
Several scars find home on her back and face. She personally doesn't now how they got there, but her entire family sure does and they don't plan on telling her any time soon. Her usual day-to-day outfit includes a range of diverse t-shirts, blouses, pants, shorts, shirts, and accessories. Her favourite and most commonly-worn attire, however, is a navy blue polo, white shorts, and a pair of black sneakers. Because of the love she attains for this outfit, it has subtle hints at sewn up holes strewn across the cloth. The final piece in her appearance is what pulls together her look; her fair and pale skin. She takes pride in her looks and doesn't seem to hide the scars dotting her cheeks, most likely because she has no story to tell for them.
Personality:
Being raised in a 4 person household gave her both great advantage and great loss. Flyss got along with her brother, Edoxious, quite well and up until a few months prior to his death, they were inseparable. Because of their compatibility, she found herself becoming more and more dependent on him. No matter how hard the two tried, they couldn't seem to figure out why their bond was so strong, maybe it was because they shared the same firey hair that nobody else in their family had, or that they both felt the same strange love for fighting. Either way, may it be those reasons or not, they identified as each other's partners in crime, a duo compared to none other. If one hadn't known them to be siblings, they could have been easily mistaken for lovers. Before Edoxious' passing, Flyss could be found socializing often and rarely ever training. Her personality was less stubborn and dark then, too.History:
Shortly after her loss, the changes to her mental state were obvious. She stopped talking as much, for one. Anxiety was a constant thing for her and Insomnia grew to become a large problem as well. More and more often, she would give up social gatherings for a session of training and soon enough, she practically lived at the district's training center. Flyss eventually became accustomed to the missing pieces in her life, but she never was really the same. She still didn't talk very much, a constant worry was upon her conscience, and she just didn't appear the same anymore. As noted by her family, the level of trust she had for people lowered.
Her personality did take a drastic turn for the worse in the weeks leading up to one of her tournaments. She was searching her room for a pair of her sparring gloves when she came across a notebook filled with Edoxious' notes and doodles. Some of the notes depicted things that not even she would come up with. The triggering images caused her to fall into a sudden depression, a small time era which influenced her to stay in her room for long periods of time, train on her own more often than before, and rarely speak. She regrets reaching this low now, but would probably be there again if it weren't for her stubborn attitude.
Flyss' early childhood is a mystery to her. All she knows is that she has numerous scars scattered across her body to make up for it. She knows that she's missing things, a metaphorical wall standing high in her mind, but she doesn't dare attempt to get through. She's smart enough to tell that if she has scars from it, that's she really shouldn't know. The story of her past lies to her family, who aren't really related to her at all. Her original parents, Dana and Foster Elliot, were executed due to treason and Flyss was taken to an orphanage where they illegally worked the children like slaves. The children were beat to the point where memories faded and walls were built. Flyss gained her large scars by defying the wrong person at the wrong time. The experience was so brutal that her mind instinctively chose to block out anything behind that and anything in the near future causing severe amnesia. When the operation was exposed, all the children were adopted into families and Flyss just happened to land in the grasp of the happy trio that was the Ren family.
Nobody in the Ren family has won a games, but Flyss plans on being the first. Edoxious was going to volunteer for the next games, but due to the constant bullying he had experienced for a long while, he committed suicide, leaving the burden to his younger sister. She assured herself that he simply didn't think of this at the time of his death, and that if he did, he may have stayed here to save her from the trouble. Her parents have heard her say this often, but they're sure that it's just a small hint of denial after all she's gone through. Surely, their daughter wouldn't be that selfish, would she?
Although Flyss' love for fighting, she didn't want to take part in the games. She had heard the stories about how the other tributes from her district's lives ended and despite her knowledge of tradition, she couldn't find a single spark of love for the massacre. She thought them to be stupid and pointless, though she could never tell Edoxious this. This was the only thing the two seemed to have different views on, but in order to keep the bond strong, Flyss chose to hide this fact about her and pretend to be fond of the blood-spilling games. She decided shortly after his death that she would fulfill his desire out and win the games for him, a feat that was small in her head, but quite large when in front of her.
