Elbe Monroe District 11
Sixteen
Appearance:
Elbe, never was much for looks. She never saw the point in degrading herself, just to impress men. Its not like she could afford those kind of cosmetic products anyway. She was happy with the way she looked. Her pale brown hair, frizzy and dry. Streaming itself along her cheek, finding its end just past her collar bone, it suited her. She loved the way her hair seemed as if it had feelings. Some days it would stand of end, in a huge tangled mess. And other days it would plaster its self, almost protectively. Like a bucket of water had just been poured over her head. She didnt take very good care of her hair. Sometimes it got on the rather smelly side, but she didnt mind. Most people didnt bug her about her smelly hair, because most of them didnt smell any better.
Elbe was always told her eyes were rather inviting. They were a deep blue color, and carryed much emotion within. Most anyone was able to tell Elbe's mood. She was horrible at hiding emotion. Her eyes snitched on every feeling she felt. She was incapable of trickary ,because of this fowl trait. Even though her eyes may have been loud mouthed, they were gorgous. They carried themselves with a rather innocent glow. And they turned the heads of many boys from her district. She was rather obsessed with her eyes. She loved The deep blue they potrayed. Not just any shade of blue, but a shade that presents beauty and understanding. She never understood where her eye color came from. For her mother had green eyes, and her father brown.
Elbe was never really the most fit person. She spent most of her days out in the beating sun, harvesting cotton and wheat. And although this tired her out, never gained much mass from this work. She was about 5"3, so on the shorter side, and rather skinny looking. She never quite got enough food to satisfy her hunger, so it resulted in under weight. She sometimes wishes that her and her family could afford more for themselves, but having eachother is anough for her. Elbe's rather petite figure, was always covered with undersized, rather trashy clothing. Most of her wordroube consisted of clothing from her younger years, so everything was pretty tight. Most of her clothing had plenty of rips and tears, but she maintaned there quilaty for many years.
Personality:
Elbe was never much for speech. She found it as a waste of time, and only needed when you have been spoken too. This ment she never talked much when it came to school, or really ever. She usually just kept to herself and maintained the cotton and wheat feilds. Elbe not only didnt like the idea of speech, but she had a terrible stutter. This stutter caused her to be insecure, when speaking. She didnt have many freinds because of her lack of speech, but she was willing to make some. She loved the company of others, but never really knew how to seem inviting. She hated being lonely, the company of others, made her feel safe. She also has always had a deep hatred for the dark, but I dont know many people who enjoy the company of the dark.
Elbe had a love for the feilds she worked in. They brought her wounds and pain, but also comfort and love. She loves to stop for a moment and take a deep breath, just to take in her surroundings. Her hair would become sun kissed and her skin, alittle more tan. She had a passion for her work. All of the other people of district 11 working in the same feilds with her for years. Again, she loved their company every day. She never really socialized with them, but she felt connected to them in a way.
Elbe was a rather truthful person. She hated lieing. Lieing was a way to reject what you have done wrong. Her parents from a very young age, have raised her to only lie if a life is in danger. So say if a peacekeeper was threating to shoot you, then it was acceptable to tell a lie, to avoid death. Over all she loved and cared, for most of the people she met. She has never felt hatred towrads another human, and she hopes she will never have to. She is surrounded by a large family and she loves them all equally. She also has feelings of her own, and as you heard earlyier, Elbe is very incapable of hiding emotion.
History:
Like I stated earlyier, Elbe grew up with a rather large family. She had two younger brothers, and an older sister. Her sister's name was Faun, and her two younger brothers names were Henry, and Jonathan. Faun was 22 years of age, and has always been a huge support in Elbe's life. Faun has shown Elbe love and kindness since the day she was born. Faun is probably Elbe's closest companion, and she will never be able to repay the dept of her sisters care. Because of Elbe's older sister, and the example she has left of her. She has shown the same love and care to her two younger brothers. Being that they are only the ages of 7 and 10, she is the main care taker for these boys.
Elbe has always had loveing, and supportive parents. She is exactly like her mother. They are both quiet and perfer the company of others. I guess that is why her mother wanted such a large family. Her parents are older then most of her class mates parents, because they didnt have her until later years. Her mother was fine with the first two births of her children. She had Faun and Elbe at rather normal, child barring years. It wasnt until the two boys that she started having issues. Her mother is no longer capable of work, and it is hard for her to care for the family. Because the lack of medical care in district 11 her mother hasnt, and most likely will never recover from her birthing injuries. But her father is a very loving and jolly man. He always knows how to brighten the day for Elbe and her family. He works hard so that their family can survive, and he doesnt complain, because he knows that his family is his responsiblity. Elbe's mother and father, have a strong love for eachother. They have been together since Here father was 18 and her mother was 16. There passionate love has carried their family far.
Elbe never had any health issues, like her older sister. Her sister always had issues with her heart. And Elbe felt as if she had to take care of her sister. She felt this way because her sister had always shown her love and care. Also the fact that her father was busy at work, and her mother was still incapable of walking. So elbe sat by Faun's bedside every day. She would read to her, bring her food, talk about all the gossip in district 11. Although usually it was Faun doing most of the talking, and Elbe would nod and give a slight giggle ever now and again. Her younger brothers havent had many health issues ether, so they were on the luckier side of things also. When Elbe was 15 years of age her sister passed. Her sister passed at the age of 22. Her heart condition had gotten to serious, and couldnt be controled. She died from a minor heart attack. This death has put a strain on the family, but they will push on. Elbe still conversates with her sister in the wheat feilds, as if she is alive and responding back. She never understood why the dead must be forgotten, when in her book they are still always there right next to us.
