[Day 1] Foil Round 1: Fray, A. vs. Reese

This was it. The moment I've been waiting for. The chance to show off in front of the nation. My entire life has been spent in the training center training. While I've never had the opportunity to compete in the hunger games, this is my chance to shine. One thing after another. It'll be the best day of my life when the crowd chants my name for the victory. It doesn't matter what others think because I will be victorious. Most of his time was spent behind the stage talking to his coach making sure he was ready when the time came. They kept running through what was needed in order to win. One can only hope that this is it. When I walk out ready to preform, everything needs to be perfect.

"Are you ready?" He asks me. That question is a stupid one. Of course I'm ready. I'm ready to win. I'm ready to show off. I was born ready. "Of course. I'm ready to go out there and win." My reply is simple compared to what most would say.

"Then go out there and win!"

"Huzzah!"

Finally it's time. A large grin spreads wide across my face, but it won't be noticed by anyone because of this stupid mask. I want to watch the face f my opponent as the true victor is placed before them. I am the best there ever was. I hope they're ready to lose. It may seem bad to many that I think this way, but it's how I have to be. It's who I am, and I can win.

I tighten my grip around the weapon as I watch and wait. I watch for the movement because I need to make sure my timing is perfect. Right now everything must be in the right order. I take a deep breath allowing time around me to stand still. It's my moment, and I know it's time. My hand flies through the air with a quick motion. This is my show, and I am prepared to win.

It was hot; a little too hot. The uniform upon my shoulders felt like a thousand pounds had been added to my body. It's impossible to move the way I want to, but it won't stop me from winning. All my life my father said I was a failure, and for the longest time I believed him. It only caused me to train harder, and longer. Every second I'm away from the house, he wants me to train. I enjoy training, and it's got me this far. I can finally tell someone that I've been in the Olympics, and the experience in itself has been amazing so far, but this match isn't over. I'm here to win. I'm here to take down my opponent. I'm here to prove I'm not a failure.

My opponent is a girl. It catches me by surprise at first, but I must hand it to her. She's got some skill as she was able to hit me three times. Normally, it would anger me, but today is all about remaining calm. Decisions are easier when I'm calm. The anger would cause me to make horrible decisions, and my aim would be off horribly. I take a deep breath hoping that the start of the fire in my veins would go away.

"Nice shot." I congratulate her at first, but it quickly changes. She's my enemy, and my enemies must pay. "Too bad it'll be your last."

I lunge forward wishing so much that she could see the grin spreading wide across my face.

"Pride is a sin you know."

Pride has always been the downfall of many people, but I'll never let it be the downfall of me. I'll work as hard as I possibly can in order to prove that I am the best there ever was. Nothing has ever been too hard for me, but many times something has defeated me. It was the worse feeling ever, but it won't happen now. I've trained far too long for this, and I'm not about to let some bubbly girl destroy me.

I grit my teeth as I prepare to attack again. Hoping that this will be the best I've ever done.

"Sin. Everyone must commit that sin then because everyone has pride."

I lunge.
