MAKOTO TACHIBANA
I stand on the sand, my feet enjoying the feel of the grains against my skin. I watch as waves crash to the shore but I don't feel an undying need to jump into the depths of the salty water I only feel fear. Fear for what disasters that the unpredictable mass of liquid might bring. My eyes narrow and I turn so that my back is facing the killer liquid. One day I hoped o be able to over come my fear of the ocean, one day I hoped to be able to swim under the sun, the salty liquid seeping into my pores cleansing them from dirt that clung to my body... But, to be honest, I don't think that will be happening soon.
A sigh slips past my lips I start to move towards the sea of man made buildings but stop when the gentle new of a lonely cat seeps into my ear. I halt my whole body focused on the scared sound. A frown slips onto my forehead and I turn to th left, using solely my ears to find the bedraggled animal.
It only takes me a moment to find it, huddled beneath one of the small shrubs which grew around the edge of the beaches. A smile slips onto my lips and I move into a crouch, extending my hand slowly towards the frightened creature. "Its okay, I wont hurt you. I just want to help, mkay?" I sooth, my fingers coming to a halt a few centimetres away from the balled up ball of fur. "Its okay, I wont hurt you, I just want to help. You know I have another friend like you. He is much bigger, and he kinda looks scary sometimes, but he is a big softy. You two might be friends you know, I think he would like you."
