Name: Vale Leonardo Tetherbairn
Age: Nineteen
Gender: Male
District/Area: Seven
Appearance:here
Vale has extremely messy hair, which curls every which way. It's fairly wild, and he has troubles taming it. It looks like he either dyed his hair blonde several times and there was an accident, or the sun permanently bleached the top of his hair blonde since he has brown hair by the nape of his neck, but then there's the occasional blonde hair, and it explodes on top of his head. Not to mention his eyebrows arepinkbrown.
He has a high forehead and cheekbones, with a faint pink scar that runs down the side of his forehead to the base of his chin on the left side. His jaw is squarish. Vale's skin is slightly pinkish, but still pale, with a few freckles and moles on his arms and torso. His face has a spray of freckles across his nose and eyes, which makes it seem like a mask almost. His nose is somewhat.. average, but a little bigger than normal.
Vale has eagle shaped eyes, which are a sharp blue that has a few gray flecks in them. They either darken or lighten with emotion, as when he's angry, they can appear almost black. When happy, they are a light blue. When deep in thought, they arereda darkish blue, almost black. Vale's eyes lighten slightly when he's sad. Most of the time though, his eyes are the sharp blue.
Tetherbairn is pretty tall for a guy of nineteen. He's about six feet three inches, and is also a hundred and sixty pounds. His BMI is 20.4, which means that he has a normal weight for a guy. He's not overly fat, nor overly skinny. He may have a boyish look to him, so Vale also might not have stopped growing.
He is usually found wearing jeans and tee shirts with an old black trench coat over them. He wears his brother's old combat boots.
Personality:Vale's a little... paranoid you might say. Ever since the dog attack when he was younger, he became really jumpy and paranoid. He's a little withdrawn, but Vale can be coaxed to come out of his shell every once in awhile. He's deathly afraid of dogs, and won't come near one. Vale isn't very talkative, so he'd rather listen and observe rather than participate in a conversation.
He likes music though, and finds working with wood very relaxing. He has conversations with his bird, and thus he loves listening to birds and their trills. With Harbinger, Vale is extremely gentle and loves him with all of his heart. He can be open minded and optimistic with other people even though he's usually withdrawn and not very talkative.
At times, Vale can be a little harsh and cruel, but that's because Vale doesn't really consider other people's thoughts. However, he's pretty smart and usually goes by his instincts. Vale adores little animals, and likes being surrounded by nature. Harbinger usually brings Vale a sense of peace, so he's usually very tranquil and calm. When he's mad, it's for a good reason, since Vale doesn't get mad very often. Like when someone is with ill-intent towards his family or Harbinger, may Heaven welcome them lest Vale's fury rampages like a wildfire.
History:As a child, Vale grew up with his family happily. He had three brothers and five sisters in a large family, and usually was surrounded by love, happiness, all that gooiness. He was born during the 49th games in early summer/late spring. His father, Yale Tetherbairn, was successful in carving out wood into little shapes. He made different kinds of stuff like little animals to large boats for the fourth district. When Vale was six, he became fascinated with his father's work, so he was apprenticed to Yale to start woodworking.
His mother, Viera Tetherbairn nee Hawksfield worked as a healer for the district, and three of her daughters and two of her sons apprenticed under her to become doctors or healers. More like apothecaries. While Vale was a kid, he watched his mother heal different kinds of patients with different kinds of diseases. In a way, Vale grew a strange fascination with death and thus grew close to his mother. His remaining siblings, a brother and two sisters, they apprenticed to various cooks throughout the district and kept other people alive.
During the 59th games when Vale was ten, Vale accidentally ventured into the more dangerous part of the district and was attacked by a dog. He barely escaped alive, with several life-threatening wounds and a large gash from the top of his head down to his chin. Therefore, he gained a large fear of dogs and when in vicinity of them, he would co catalytic with fear and would be basically paralyzed. This event traumatized Vale deeply, but with his large family around, Vale healed from the horrible event.
This was the only traumatizing event in his life so far, so for the next nine years until the 68th year, he lived with his family. With his father helping him to become a master woodworker, Vale bought his own tiny home with a workshop in his basement, and lived alone. This he bought with hard earned money, and to be able to afford food, furniture, and home, he started up his own wood working shop with various little animals and making diaries by working with trees.
In the second week of the third month, Vale found a little white bird with gray wing feathers and blue breast feathers nearly dead outside of his new home. Away from his mother and father, Vale nursed the bird back to health with the knowledge he knew from working with his mother as a helper. Thus, the bird grew extremely attached to him and follows him everywhere. He called the bird Harbinger, as he wasn't sure of the gender, and the name stuck. The bird is currently three years old, and is pronounced a male due to his colorful breast feathers.
