I got nothing :/ Throw in some more reaction from Matt, it should jog my muse.
ffffff - Brody
1979e6 - Matthew
In any other situation, Brody might've been proud of the fact that Matthew, as of late, seemed to have a better handle on his temper. Right now, though, he'd almost been hoping Matthew would fight right back at him the way he had when they'd sparred at his parents' home; there was fire in Brody's core, and he was itching for a fight.
He supposed he had more of his father in him than he sometimes gave him credit for.
"I did. Accidentally."
"How in the hell do you accidentally tell him??" Brody demanded, "Or weren't you there when I lied to my father's face about what I did for a living? Do I have to spoon-feed you every piece of information??"
If he were in a calmer, slightly more rational frame of mind, Brody would've figured he was being a little unreasonable, but then again he'd never pegged Matthew for an idiot. Apparently, he was wrong.
"I wasn't aware your father doesn't know what exactly you do for the Peacekeepers. I must have forgotten."
Brody's fist clenched, and it took a herculean amount of effort not to punch Matthew in the face. He forgot. That was a pretty important fucking detail to forget, considering Brody had told him explicitly that his job had made him enemies.
"It's not like your father will go around and tell people. Maybe you should have told him yourself. Might be a better way of protecting him than keeping him in the dark. It's not like your enemies are going to care whether your father knows what you're doing or not."
His hands fisted Matthew's shirt harder as he hissed in his face.
"Do the words 'plausible deniability' mean anything to you?" Brody snarled, his voice dangerously quiet, "And in case you forgot this little tidbit too, interrogators are not well-looked upon whether you've been on the wrong side of one or not."
