Appearance:
{FC: Dani Thorne}
[5’5”, 125 lb., 20.8 BMI]
Lillian has chestnut red hair that reaches to about her shoulders, and it could be styled in every which way. She usually prefers it straight and natural, instead of trying to keep it in place every single morning. Her eyebrows are thin and somewhat short, and are a darker color than the rest of her hair. Her mother says it’s simply genetics, and that they’re like her father’s. Lillian’s eyebrows still bother her to no end, though.
Lillian’s forehead is on the medium/small side, and her cheekbones are subtle and cute. Her nose is short and stubby, and she has a few light freckles sprinkled around her nose and cheeks. Her irises are a hazel brown, and her eyes are higher up on her face. Her eyes are ver clear and warm, but turn bloodshot and puffy after an anxiety attack. Her smile is long and thin, and could be easily taken as a sarcastic remark when, in reality, she couldn’t care less. Near Lillian’s hairline and around her forehead, there is still a small trace of acne, but it’s usually indistinguishable from her freckles.
This young woman stands at an average height of 5’5”, and she has an athletic build. Her neck and shoulders are well-defined, and her torso is in good shape. She doesn’t exactly have “abs”, but she considers herself fit for climbing. She has a more rectangular form, but yet lacks curves and a few appealing assets. She is fit, and can run a mile in about 4 minutes. Her BMI is 20.8, marking her right at the 50% percentile. She’s somewhere in the middle of skinny and chubby, yet she still feels that there’s always room for improvement, in life and with herself.
Lilly, as her mother calls her, has a few scars and bruises along her inner lower arms, most of them from self-harm (scratching, a few cuts), and a few of the bruises from some failed precision jump attempts. She usually wears a white, long-sleeved shirt, along with a brown, leather jacket, dark gray cargo pants, and a pair of combat boots. Most of her clothes are hand-me-downs from her mother, claiming them to “fit her perfectly”, and that she looked “absolutely gorgeous” in them. Being gorgeous wasn’t much of Lillian’s concern, as long as what she was wearing was practical and wasn’t uncomfortable at all. Yet, her mother still insists on “how gorgeous her little Lily is”, and “oh your hair looks gorgeous today” (even though she wears the same outfit almost every day).
Personality:
[Talkative, adventurous, anxiety issues, hasty]
Lillian is most likely one of the most talkative people you will ever meet. She could go on for hours about how it feels looking over District 7, or the exhilaration she gets when jumping over high gaps, or the empowering peace she gets at the top of a high spruce while the wind brushes against her face. Excitement always crosses her face when she’s about to tell a story is almost unmistakable. She never misses a chance to talk or tell a good story, but her constant chattering can get bothersome after a while. She’s been elbowed in the arm to stop more than once, but she hasn’t caught on just quite yet. Her interests generally consist of parkour, nature, and strengthening herself to the most of her ability.
She completes most assignments with haste and in a quick way, sometimes making crucial mistakes or messing up the task altogether. Because of this, Lillian is impatient and can get restless if the task at hand requires time and precision. Her anger shares the same length fuse, and it is easy for her to fly off the handle. Her frustration and anger could eventually lead to her shutting down almost completely for an hour or two, just to regain her thoughts. Her anxiety peaks during an anger flash, and it’s most likely that she’ll start to harm herself by scratching her arm while calming down.
Lillian’s true intent and colors are nothing short of her outer self. Her mind constantly buzzes words that pour out of her mouth constantly, with a small filter between the two. Her worries and anxiety is larger than what she really shows, and can either make or break a situation. She can have her selfish moments, yet she regrets most of them, if not all. Her selfish decisions usually depend on convenience and timing, yet most of the time it’s a wrong decision that she regrets almost immediately. She tries to act tough for her younger brother, Leo, keeping her chin up and keeping him out of harm’s way. He’s only 9, and he’ll have to learn about the games someday, but Lillian can barely live without him.
History:
[Mother - Laura Clarice Kathryn (37) | Father - Airon Kathryn (40) | Leo Kathryn - Younger Brother (9)]
District Seven, March 21st, 2 years after the second quarter quell. Lillian was born kicking and whining, a healthy sign for most newborns. She was the firstborn of her family, so she got used to the ogling and . She was born into a middle-class family, and learned at an early age how things around the District worked. Her first axe lesson with her father was at 4, where she "helped" chop down some low-hanging branches in front of her house. Her speedy little feet always tapped along the hardwood floors of their creaky, one story house, sounding like music in comparison to the usually quiet household.
Lillian's younger brother was born 7 years after Lillian, and she adored him at first sight. His dark red hair complimented hers, and his bright green eyes matched his father's. Lillian had been the first one to have Leo walk, to teach him how to eat, and most importantly, how to climb into cabinets. Years passed, and her parents had sat her down to talk about her first Reaping. The horror pierced her brain, cutting in with spears of anxiety and crushing panic. She wouldn't let Leo get hurt, even though there was nothing she could do. She had walked out of the room with her reddened, splotchy face. Leo was concerned, yet Lillian kept strong for him. He couldn't know. He wasn't ready. She felt as though she had to grow up that day, and leave her childhood far behind her. She'd almost ran away that day, but she had to stay behind for him.
Her teenage years weren't a huge thrill, her constant anxiety and panic being hidden by a mask of cheer and blurs of words that ran constantly out of her mouth, as well as finger nails moving rapidly up and down her arms. After school every day, she would run the same long route home, the pain temporarily flying off her shoulders like a kite. Her fleeting feet would tap rhythmically against the gravel, but would reel the kite in as her feet slowed to a stop. Sometimes, she would even try to rip the kite free by climbing up and letting it fly with the wind, about to tear from her back. She'd imagine that the strings would grow loose from the breeze blowing fiercely at the high heights, or the kite would grow transparent and blend in with the blue of the sky that hung above her, the kite never seen again. All good things must come to an end, though. The feeling would slowly sink back into her, sticking to her like a leech. Her mother often worried about her, yet her father constantly seemed too busy to notice anything was wrong. Neither of them spoke up, they just exchanged a worried glance.
Now, Lillian enjoys the days after school running and climbing, and speaking with her little brother while hastily completing her school assignments. Her worries and fears are constantly at bay, and the tough skin on her arms act like a shield to absorb all the worries. They sink into her skin, eventually slowly dripping through and sometimes consuming her whole. She's gotten better at hiding the anxiety that washes over her, but has yet to handle the empty, cold hard reality of the Games.
