[googlefont="dancers script:400"]Appearance
Curls upon curls of thick, fiery ginger hair are the first thing one sees when they come across this girl of sixteen years, her thick waves falling over her eyes and sometimes making it almost impossible to see the face hiding beneath. Pull away the curls to reveal a pair of lovely forest green eyes that seem to almost match the trees the young woman surrounds herself with, drawing inspiration from the natural surroundings. The eyes are set an average distance apart above a very pointed nose that at times can remind people of a birds beak but not overly. The owner of the nose despises said thing in the center of her face, thinking it is the ugliest nose in the world yet on her, most would disagree as it enhances the almost wild beauty of her. Set beneath said pointed nose is a pair of pale pink lips that stretch into a smile quite often as this girl is a happy person but more on that later.
A slightly rounded face gives way to a slender neck and average shoulders which drive the owner of them crazy because they cannot, for the life of them, keep a shoulder bag on them. Her bag has to be an across the chest bag as otherwise, she would lose her bag down her slim arms. The hands ending the arms are delicate and very precise, needing to be for the detailed drawings they can often be found creating. The nails ending the fingers are often kept short, ensuring that they won't get in the way as she draws and often, they are not well taken care of as the owner of them is more concerned with the drawing than the hands that do the drawing.
A boyish figure hides beneath the clothes that adorn the body, to the somewhat disappointment of the owner but not a lot as this keeps unwanted attention away from her. She has little in the way of curves and isn't overly tall, only standing about 5'6". Soaking wet, it is estimated she weighs about 110 lbs. Her arms, noticeably, are the arms of a person who is 5'4" as she cannot reach her toes, no matter how hard she tries, even with being flexible. Her legs make up about half of her height, making clothing hard to find that fits properly as usually it will fit at the waist but won't be long enough. She gets frustrated with it and that is part of the reason why she opts for skirts and shorts as they do not require full legs. During the winter time, there will be stockings adorning her legs, keeping her legs warm in the chilly months that cover district seven in snow.

[googlefont="dancers script:400"]Personality
A carefree spirit. That is how most would describe Poppy. She is a fun loving young woman who is deeply passionate about art and life. She loves people although she sometimes likes to be alone to her drawings, she also loves to draw with her friends. They are the best things to have ever happened to her as they are usually incorporated into her drawings.
Poppy is carefree and doesn't tend to worry as much about the future as she does the present, usually, she is scatterbrained and sometimes forgetful but she never forgets a face. She seems to have a rediculously good memory for peoples faces and name. Another thing to note is that she is an organized mess. Her room is a prime example of that. She can find whatever she needs in her room while other people just kind of gape at her when she tells them where things are and are kind of like how on earth did you find that. She takes pride in it but doesn't brag about it.
Do not, under any circumstances, make Poppy mad. She may be small but she has a vicious temper. Do not speak badly about her artwork and do not bother her constantly when she is concentrating. Another thing not to do? Don't bring her somewhere high up as she is terrified of heights as well as do not cut yourself as she gets nauseas at the sight of blood. Avoid those things and you should be good as Poppy is normally a very relaxed person. She has a large imagination, almost like a child who hasn't fully grown up yet and she loves to draw different worlds that are more intriguing than the one she currently lives in. Often, her train of thought will jump around to different topics and it can be hard for someone without ADD to keep up. In case you are curious, ADD stands for Attention Deficit Disorder, meaning she has trouble focusing. That being said, when it comes to drawing, she can focus on a single drawing for hours whilst she has problems sitting still in school for five minutes.
Besides drawing, Poppy has developed skills in cooking and in carving, the first taught to her by her mother and the secind her father. She enjoys cooking and is actually quite good at it. Carving she's alright at but no one would pay for her carvings which is why she usually just gives them as gifts.

Growing up in district seven, Poppys life has been pretty decent. She hasn't really ever worried about being picked for the games and has always just kind of floated around drawing. Her mother, Vienna Stone, works at the paper mills and is usually able to get her daughter paper to draw on, even sometimes bringing home a new sketchbook once a year for her daughters birthday. Her father, Fredrick Stone, is a woodsman, chopping down trees in district seven to send to the factory. She doesn't see much of her dad as he often returns home late from work and is usually tired by the time he gets home. Poppy doesn't mind though, she loves her father and he is actually the one who taught her to sketch. They spend hours on his days off sitting in the forest and sketching the wildlife around them in amiable silence.
The Stone family lives in a small house with three bedrooms, one for her parents, one for her and one for the off chance that anyone comes over for the night. Their house isn't new but her father, on his days off, repairs it and makes sure that things are good for the family.
Of course, this may sound like the perfect life but it is not. Some nights, Poppy goes to bed hungry, their family unable to afford as much as she wishes they could but she hasn't complained. She would rather be hungry than unhappy and for them to have more money, she would never get to see her parents. She has thought about selling some of her art but her mother insists that she keep the creations she has done, perhaps someday, she'll be discovered by a famous artist in the Capitol (Highly unlikely but she still dreams) and so, secretly, she sells a few pieces to people without her mother knowing and forces people to swear that they will not tell a soul.
When Poppy was fifteen, she met a woman named Gardenia Flowers who seemed to take a liking to the young girl and began teaching her about the different flowers, officially declaring her as the Poppy of district seven because of her name and her beautiful red hair. Since then, Poppy has learned to become one with her surroundings and allow her hands to do the work, creating more stunning drawings. Now, she spends her days with the other flower children like Hibiscus, Jennifer, Lotus, and all the others who make up the group of children Gardenia teaches. Right now, life is good for Poppy, she has good friends, loving parents, and dreams for the future that are brighter than the sun.
