These are the people you pass on the street and don't look twice at. They aren't anything special without being with each other, but when they are they turn into their imaginary roles. It starts with everyone sitting calmly, then the story begins. It starts with one, and the others keep it going. Soon no one is telling the story anymore, but they are playing an imaginary game with invisible props and costumes. It can go on for minutes or hours, sometimes all night and most of the next day. It doesn't always stay in one spot, either. And it isn't always a safe game.
CAST AS: Gaige is always the center of attention. He is the loudest and full of expression. He's the hero, or the villain, he doesn't care as long as he wins at the end of the story. Losing isn't an option, or he turns into a tantrum prone five-year-old until he gets his way. Gaige needs to be the one everyone's eyes are on when he speaks. Some of the others are a little scared of him, because he's had a past of manipulating the story for himself. He doesn't ask nicely.
WHO I REALLY AM: At home, Gaige lives in the shadow of his two older brothers, who train as careers. He's been forgotten and given the scraps of everything his entire life, and once his mind leaves his world of dominance he becomes an extinguished flame - smoke. He wants more attention, but is afraid to ask for it. When he's around his girlfriend, Anice, he demands all of her attention.
CAST AS: The one that can't keep still, that would be Robin. He has to be moving around, putting an arm around someone at least. He likes to be the hero, and absolutely refuses to take the role of the bad guy. Robin always tries to save the victim, but he doesn't demand the spotlight and will willingly "help out" just to be part of the action.
WHO I REALLY AM: Robin makes up for his life as a die-hard career in everyday life by being the hero in their pretend games. He's probably the only one not completely immersed in the story when its going on. There isn't anything "weird" about him, you could say. He comes from a decently wealthy family and will purposely avoid the others if he passes them on the street.
CAST AS: The dead person. If Lenore doesn't die in some tragic way, even in the adventurous fairytales, she'll be upset. Sometimes she'll even go so far as to move herself slightly away from the group to lay down and cry for a little while. Usually her part is ignored, only occasionally noticed - but given thought in more tragic stories where she is likely to be a major character. Lenore is almost always the one to begin telling the story, starting it off in her sweet voice, and letting everyone know to stop in her clipped, somber tone.
WHO I REALLY AM: Lenore has to be one of the few in the group to try and express her daily life in the story. The only difference is she tries to make it more poetic, lilting around in a dramatic daze much like the one she lives in. The story for her doesn't end when she tells everyone to stop, it keeps going on forever. She lives with her aunt and uncle in something she describes to the others as her own tragedy. To most people, it might seem she enjoys being upset.
CAST AS: Hester likes to put herself completely into a role. She'll be nearly anyone, but she rejects romance when setting herself into a story. She often finds herself as the imaginary creature, be it fairy or troll. When in a story, she doesn't like to be left out and is constantly trying to get in the middle of things or hint her way into a conversation. She changes who she is often and doesn't like to stick to one character for the entire time.
WHO I REALLY AM: No one besides Oliver knows how poor Hester actually is. Neither of her parents are able to work (I'll leave it up to who plays her as to why) and she has to support her three younger siblings. Often she resorts to shady doorsteps late at night. Hester is very connected to reality, much like Robin - but unlike him she is able to sink into the story and forget everything else.
CAST AS: John is the stranger - the one that gives advice right from the heart and sets another character on the right path. He's the doctor, the fireman, and the guy at the grocery store - but only if he's drunk, and you can bet your bottom dollar he's drunk if he's in the story. John starts a lot of unnecessary quarrels that occasionally go too far.
WHO I REALLY AM: Messed up. Prone to rants. When John was eleven, his parents returned to the district and dropped him off at his grandparents' house. They died soon after and he found he rejected District life, which he had never been exposed to beforehand. He spends most of his time drunk and complaining. He feels especially close to Lenore and is much like her, but he wants attention more outside the story rather than during it. Additionally, his sardonic humor is extremely misunderstood.
CAST AS: Eve is a funny bit. She puts her heart and soul into a character. She loves to be one of the main parts, but will give others turns. Eve does best when comedy is involved, and every now and then, if she gets just the right story, she has trouble taking everyone else seriously. Gaige has a tendency to interrupt her, and the two don't get along well at all.
WHO I REALLY AM: Eve doesn't have motivation, and that would be her greatest downfall. She doesn't do anything to help, and doesn't mind it either. Trouble finds her easily, but she has a talent for talking her way out of things. Her artistic talent is worthy of an eyebrow raise, but she doesn't have the ambition to do anything with it and will quickly crumble up a beautiful landscape if someone compliments her.
CAST AS: No one can play an ass quite like Estella. She's the Regina George of District 2, at least, when she's with her troop of cloud heads. She likes to be the bad guy, or the bad guy's unlikeable wife, if possible. She creates all sort of trouble and is often the one that starts the main conflict, intentionally or by mistake. The only thing worth noting about her character specifically is that she is she always remembers to apologize right before its over. Most stories start in a spare room of her house.
WHO I REALLY AM: Estella is a daughter of two of one of the most successful people in the District. It makes her big headed, and rather unlikeable by most. She hasn't had the best luck romantically, but she's hopelessly obsessed with it nonetheless. She clings to her ability to sing well, and wastes no opportunity to mention it.
CAST AS: Oliver likes to play the first romance, or at the very least be married at one point. He's as invested in romance as Stella, and tries to play it out as often as he can. Apart from romance, he tries to push a story towards tragedy or mystery on occasion and will take any roll just to get it there.
WHO I REALLY AM: Oliver is Hester's cousin, but he isn't better off. Technically, he lives in the community home, but he spends little time there and prefers to walk around town rather than just staying in one place. He's a kleptomaniac and takes anything he thinks he can keep, and he also has about a million "collections." Oliver always has something in his pockets.
CAST AS: Anice is in the spotlight, simply by default. Somehow the story always seems to star her, or at least involve her a lot. Always the good girl, and most of the time rather cliché. If there's a happy ending, she's kissing someone - hopefully Gaige. Anice adores fantasy and sometimes, when its her turn to speak, she babbles off in a random direction and the others have to go on without her for a little while.
WHO I REALLY AM: The perfect two words to describe Anice might be empty headed. She choses to ignore most of her surroundings and live in a dream world. She babbles a lot, and to her there is no difference between story time and real life. To her, story time is merely the time where everyone else stops acting weird and starts acting right.
CAST AS: Rarely does Peter get a solid role. He's a lot like Alice, but he won't play an adult. This is the only place no one tells him to act his age, and he certainly takes advantage of it. Peter likes adventure, and he always tries to get in on a fight if the older kids reach a disagreement, and usually him getting himself hurt ends the fight. He has an innocence about him nevertheless, and sometimes his childish behavior is quite amusing.
WHO I REALLY AM: No one forced him to take care of his family, but for some reason he stepped up to it when his parents stopped bringing in a regular income (I'll let whoever plays him decide why). Peter had to grow up early, even though his mind was still eight years old. Peter doesn't talk about himself to the others, because his situation embarrasses him.
I may add more if this plot is successful.
Also, don't hesitate to apply for a character if someone has already applied. The character is open to anyone until I replace the "open" spot with a name.
Application:
Username: The name you log in with
Alias: What you would want me to call you in the "open" spot
RP Example: Just a link to a thread - bios are fine but I prefer threads
Character: Name, if you want a name change set it up like this - First Last (New First Last)
Interpretation: The way you see the character, but more to it than I've put in the description
Faceclaim: I'm going to require this but you don't have to find one immediately when you apply
Second Choice: Backup incase I don't see your interpretation as what the plot needs or I pick someone else to play the character.
Other: Anything else
