A beginning of sorts

Hey there, my name is martyr and it has been quite some time since my last visit. I found this site and became enamored with the sense of community and quality of writing. I was an active user for a little more than a month, excitedly creating characters and doing absolutely nothing with them. My problem rested not in apathy but rather my possession of the attention span of the twelve (thirteen?) year old that I was. I became discouraged, even afraid, that my "work" was nothing but an annoyance unworthy of acceptance. I bitterly departed, not wishing to embarrass myself any further. I was a somewhat dramatic preteen. Now, some three and a half years later, I make my return. I hope I can become what I could not manage to then.

For a bit about myself, my favorite subjects are programming (the first coding I ever did was on this site), calculus (don't ask why, I couldn't tell you), physics (especially but not limited to condensed particle), philosophy, and creative writing. I don't consider myself to be a good writer, but I enjoy it nonetheless. My favorite author is Patrick Rothfuss. If you've never read any of his work, I would highly recommend it. The Hunger Games series will always hold a special place in my heart. The majority of my favorite music is alt rock, especially the Red Hot Chili Peppers, but I like most genres. I play guitar and piano (trying to pick up the harmonica too). I do running sports, rock climbing, and lacrosse. My most played games are League of Legends (pm me if you want to play), Borderlands 2, Rogue Legacy, and Skyrim.
