Appearance:
Elaine has a heart-shaped face. She has a curved nose and plump red lips, which are sometimes glossy after she’s bitten it. She has startling, round green eyes that are covered in occasion by her fiery red hair. Her hair is straight and barely reaches the base of her neck, appearing in the same way as a bob cut. On her neck she wears a simple rope necklace that has a silver ring on it.
She is a fit young woman. Her body is smooth spare the few protruding scars she had obtained from various incidents all-throughout her life. Her skin complexion is naturally pale, despite the hours she spent working on the field. In spite of being muscular, Elaine appears slender and curvaceous, and has also preserved her flexibility and speed. Her arms are muscled yet flexible, extending up until about two feet. She has sturdy bones, much due to her large daily amount of calcium intake.
Her legs, like the rest of her body, are muscled from all the work she’s done. She weighs about one hundred and twenty pounds and stands at a height of five feet and seven inches.
Personality:
Elaine keeps her distance from others. She rarely talks and, if she does, she just says short and brief sentences. She’s not one who’d stay for just mindless blabber, but if she needs to explain something, she’ll explain until people fully understand what she’s trying to say. She is usually cold and aloof, making people think of her as heartless and deadpan. In reality, Elaine is very caring, and would do anything for her friends, even if it means getting herself gravely hurt in the process. The only exception to her aloofness is her family, who mean the world to her.
Elaine has a mature way of thinking. She does not let her emotions cloud her actions. She has learned how to keep certain thoughts to herself, especially those that would hurt when said out loud. She loathes the Capitol but does not voice it out; for fear that she would be killed or turned into an Avox, leaving her little brother without someone to guide him as he grew.
Elaine is a hard worker. She can stand working in the field, and would sometimes double her load to make up for others who aren’t as strong as she is. She has a one-track mind, and is not easily distracted. She does not hold grudges easily and thinks of everything as a challenge and a way to improve on herself.
History:
Elaine was an only child raised by her loving parents until the day she turned eight. That was the time that her little brother, Russel, was born. Elaine became instantly overprotective over her little brother and would be the one who took care of him, which is most of the time. A year after, things began to spiral down in Elaine’s life. Her father died when he was executed in the square for disobeying the laws of the Capitol. Of course, Elaine and her family were devastated. Elaine noticed that her mother took it the hardest out of them three – Russel, having only been a year old, did not know what was going on. Soon, her mother was taking a fierce dedication to her job, and is usually devoid of compassion.
This left Elaine feeling alone. She had stayed in a corner of their home, sullen, when Russel approached her, somehow sensing her loneliness. She had embraced the boy and abruptly realized that she still had him, and he would never leave her. That was the day she had sworn to protect him (including her mother) with her life. Her demeanor outside dwindled to an existence of only work, but inside her home she is bright and lively as to not alert her little brother to the harshness of the world.
Comments/Other:
She has a certain affiliation with nature, eventually developing an uncanny ability to discern whether a fruit or plant is safe to eat, would help certain wounds, or would cause instant death.
*Note: I’m not sure of the daily calcium intake I wrote in the Appearance section, since my books were borrowed by a friend. :]
