Evelyn Truus
Thousands of pictures flashed before her eyes before her gaze shifted towards the ground. A blank expression plastered against her face while her mother stood beside her holding her hand. Many emotions tossed through the air, but one stuck with Evelyn. Hopelessness. Kraygon vanished shattering the morning routine they developed together, yet her kind and loving father did what he could making sure her life was set in order. Without order came destruction and chaos. Her entire life was destruction and chaos. Many bruises, cuts, scrapes, abrasions, covered her body. Pain had a way of pressing in the life of the girl while emotions turned away. Each conversation going on around her sped quickly through her ears buzzing through her skull in a deafening way. Today was chaotic because Evelyn Truus left her house without her parents knowing.
The ground crunched beneath her feet with every step she took. Icy chills slapped across her face leaving her cheeks a bright red. Every hair stood on end. Her tiny hands ran up and down her arms fighting for some warmth before wrapping them around a rope connected to a cow's neck. The cow belonged to Esme. Evelyn loved the cow more than words could say, and she took it everywhere with her. She couldn't stand the water running down the face of her parents anymore as the animal like sounds filled the room piercing her ears. It hurt, and trying to make them realize it never worked which only led to tantrums. Chaos swarmed her life sweeping her off her feet before running wild. Animals weren't being fed because he wasn't there to wake her up in the mornings. The first morning she woke up on her own to surprise him, but Kraygon never showed.
With the cow following behind her, Evelyn waddled through the open terrain stomping against the frozen ground, but it was when she caught her reflection through a broken window she realized just how cold it was. Snot drained from her nose at a rapid pace. Teeth clicked against one another. Her blonde hair stood in many directions. It looked as though she had just climbed out of bed, yet she had her companion, her... Esme's cow. She looked away from the broken window and continued forward. Her arms swung wildly in every direction. Her legs shook underneath her body with every step. And it hurt to breath. Each time she inhaled the frigid air it felt like her lungs had been set on fire, but the ticking of her heart showed her she was alive.
The further from home she traveled, the odds of finding her way back decreased. Wandering around by herself with no jacket on and a cow following behind her was one way to draw attention to herself, yet she hated attention. Her blue eyes stared at the cow. It was time for a break, to rest, before traveling wherever the world took her. Collapsing towards the ground, she felt at peace. Nobody to mess with her while a new routine was formed. Slowly the cow joined her. Evelyn rested her head on the cow hoping somewhere inside the love of her brother and the love of her cousin would comfort her, but there wasn't anything. All she could hear was the sound of the heart keeping them both alive.
