The 3rd time around {Cass} blitz

He's there, standing right before me and once more I feel myself freeze, it's like someones' reached into my mind and taken hold of everything. Even when I try I cannot move. And then, as though, that moment of fear has lessened the warmth falls back into place and my limbs sag and I can regain control of myself. He looks as filthy and disgusting and as vile as the first and second time I saw him. He's dirty and roaming in the shadows just the same and just as the first time I saw him he is picking through garbage because he cannot do anything else. How disgusting. I muster everything I have - all the anger and rage and throw it into one glare, right at him. I don't like him, and some part of me fears him, not for who he is, but for the pain he caused me. But I can withstand whatever he has. I am stronger then before.

I am the queen of my world and I will not fall to the likes of him, in fact I will stand taller and stronger and I will overcome this threat. However, this time when he speaks he does not trade insults, in fact the harshness to his every movement has lessened. I do not, whoever, lower my guard, instead my muscles tense, waiting for him to spring forwards and show his true colours. Narrowing my eyes I give him a once over, searching for any sign that he might break this fake image and attack. "So much so that I can feel them burning into my skull." I reply, tone cold.

I hated his sarcasm, I hated the way he looked at me. I hated the way he made me feel. I hated him so much. There was nothing good about him, nothing kind, nothing useful. H e was a useless prick, set on his own path, following a light of ambition that did not are how many lives it claimed, how many people it hurt. I hated people that did not know sacrifice, yeah, he knew how to sacrifice his own belly, he was a street rat, but I doubted he knew what it meant to die for another person, or what it meant to lead and help others. He wasn't someone I would ever follow, he wasn't someone I could ever look at and respect. He was dirty, disgusting and everything I despised.

And I was too scared to even breathe a word of that, instead it remained in my head, instead I snarled and growled and glared at him with fire in my head. I buried as much of my fear as I could behind a mask of indifference, but as he steps forwards I cannot stop my reaction. I take a step backwards, wanting - needing to keep that distance between us. I was not under the illusion that he would let me live, that he wouldn't hesitate to kill me, torture me or hurt me. He was a sadistic man. I still had nightmares from the pain and fear of last time. He talks big, and the stubborn, irrational part of me strikes forwards, determined not to give in and tell him what he wants.
