"When your hopes and dreams
Lose the will to go
Joy ride
Reaching for the light
More than we can win
And something in the distance
A glorious existence
A simple celebration
A place you never went before"

Name: Thomas Lanier Augustin
Age: Sixteen
Gender: Male
District/Area: District One
Appearance:
Thomas is a young man that stands at a slightly taller than average height. He is six feet even, weighing around one hundred and thirty five pounds. His build is extremely lean and athletic, and he is naturally gifted with this incredible physique. Thomas's skin has a certain a lightly tanned complexion, beautiful as lush olive groves. The only blemishes he possesses are the scars that plague his hands and knuckles, gained from working as a gem cutter.
He has jewel-like sapphire eyes, befitting a young man of District One. Thomas's hair is a soft, cool brown color, and it is a perpetual windswept mess. Not that he'd have it any other way, of course; he doesn't mind his hair much. His face is slightly long and thin, and his jawline is rather weak. In spite of this, however, he is generally considered to be an exceptionally attractive person.
Personality:
Playfulness is the one trait that Thomas possesses in spades. He almost always has a smirk on his face, betraying his mischievous nature. Not knowing when to cease his light teasing, however, can occasionally get him into trouble with those close to him; they don't always appreciate his jests. It also does not help that his foolishness can manifest itself in biting sarcasm. The merry prankster that he is, he is known for sometimes going to great lengths to pull off a good joke.History:
A true social butterfly, Thomas has been noted to fit in almost anywhere. He's been compared to a kaleidoscope; permeable to his surroundings, but also unique and colorful. Confidence fuels his outgoing side, as he does not fear being rejected in social settings. Loneliness comes easily to him, however, a drawback of being a people person. He can't stand to be on his own for too long.
Faithful is definitely a word to describe Thomas. His loyalty to those he cares about runs deep enough to be comparable to that of a wolf's. Once you win his allegiance, you will have it until one of you draws their last breath. This incredible capacity for devotion means that he expects the same from his loved ones, though, and betrayal hurts him worse than anything else. Aside from losing those he cares about, of course.
Thomas Lanier Augustin was born on May 20, in District One. He is the son of a jeweler and a schoolteacher, and his family lives in relative comfort compared to those in the poorer Districts of Panem. As a child, his life was nearly idyllic, with loving parents and siblings around to offer him affection and guidance. He was blissfully naïve to the evils in the world around him.Codeword: Odair
Childhood would pass him by too swiftly. He spent his days lolling around the fields with his friends, getting into all sorts of mischief when not in school. He was a good student, but he mostly enjoyed the social interaction; academics didn't much interest him. He was to take over his father's jewelry store one day, and during his teenage years, he would learn to be a gem cutter. Thus, school didn't much benefit him.
When he was thirteen, an intense loathing for the Capitol began to stir within him upon witnessing a man being savagely assaulted by a group of Peacekeepers. Their mercilessness incensed him, and since that day, he began to take more notice of the world around him. His teenage years saw this hatred grow, as he resented the combat training he was forced to undergo. Belonging to a Career District, such was his fate. However, he notably lacks the cold-blooded nature that is typical of the Careers, and he has no desire to participate in the Games.
Currently, Thomas works for his father as a gem cutter in his shop. His skills are invaluable, and his father noted that almost none in District One can match his talent. The beauty of gems never ceases to amaze Thomas, and he is genuinely passionate about his career.
